"Hmm...where is the temple?"

Renn looked to Lucille... Renn pulled out a small device and walked up to her.

"It's past the town and the woods... bad news is in the forest there's fiends. But nothing we can't handle." Renn said as he walked forward. He walked down towards the other side of the village. "And if I remember right... I recall a former summoner and an aquaintance of Lady Yuna lives here too."

As the two of them reached the top of the stairs, both Flora and Mu were out of breath. Mostly, Flora seemed out of breath, but she soon covered her exhuastion with a very random laugh. She didn’t want weakness to show, so she had to put on a strait face no matter how tired she was, but not like it matters anyways, right?

As the two fo them would reach the temple, Flora was a wee bit shocked to see that the elders of the Temple actually knew Mu, but what’s even weirder is that they addressed her as Silive. Flora was a bit confused, but not like it was any of her business. This girl was entitled to secrets, as Flora is entitled to her own, but Flora could only but wonder why this girl chose to use a different name, and how the hell she came to be using Mu as her name. Like they say: curiosity killed the cat, but this cat can bite your ass off if you get too close.

“Say Mu, now that we’re semi-friends or whatever,” Flora said addressing Mu as the two of them proceeded into the temple. Flora had a few questions for Mu..silive, “Why not join me for a cup of tea until we figure out what the hell to do from here..?”

"Hmm...where is the temple?"

"It's past the town and the woods... bad news is in the forest there's fiends. But nothing we can't handle." Renn said as he walked forward. He walked down towards the other side of the village. "And if I remember right... I recall a former summoner and an aquaintance of Lady Yuna lives here too."

Ayumi heard this question and was about to answer it when Renn did it for her. She heard him talk about the forest and she chuckled. Skipping forward in front of everyone, she stopped them from walking anymore. Standing there and looking at everyone, she got a good look at their faces before she began to talk a little bit. Apprehensive as she spoke, she decided to tell them a lot more about Kilika.

"You're wrong about where the MAIN Temple is you know. The original Temple is still there, but after what happened and then the dark Aeons, they decided it was better to move the Fayth statue someplace more secretive. That way, nobody would try and disease the Fayth again. Also, they changed the Cloister of Trials to be a bit more....challenging too. Just a heads up."

She soon walked a little more before she saw something. She saw her mother walking into the forest with her father. Which meant she'd have to speak to them after all this. Thing is, she hadn't done much since she last saw them other than join the Summoner and become a Guardian. Turning around, Ayumi seemed a little shaken.

"Actually, let's go talk to that former Summoner...her name....her name is Dona I believe. Don't take my word on it, I only heard this name associated with her once long ago."

Waiting on you, dear.
“Say Mu, now that we’re semi-friends or whatever,” Flora said addressing Mu was the two of them proceeded into the temple. Flora had a few questions for Mu…silvie, “Why not join me for a cup of tea until we figure out what in the hell to do from here..?”

Tea… Tea sounded wonderful. “That…sounds really good, actually.” She said as she and Flora walked through the wide-open temple doors and into the dim, dreary building. She supposed that pretty much all of the temples in Spira were made of the same dark grey stone; most likely because stone was the hardiest material around—it did not rot as wood did, nor was it flimsy. But hardiness came at a price; the temples, in Mu’s mind at least, all had an ominous feel to them. They were cold and dark, and in some places water had seeped its way through the cracks and crevices in the stone, and leaked to the ground with quiet drips and drops. And as if that in itself wasn’t enough, the small drafts that whispered through the somber buildings sometimes sounded as if the statues themselves were talking—murmuring ancient secrets or, in her particular case, quietly whispering their disapproval of her presence in these most sacred of buildings. The voices of the two girls echoed along with their footsteps as they crossed the wide room of the temple, and entered a smaller room to the right of the entrance to the Cloister of Trials.

This room, though smallish, was well-lit and much more cheerful than the main part of the temple; tapestries were hung on the walls and various pieces of furniture decorated the room—the central piece being a small round table, around which two young girls were playing tag. They couldn’t have been older than nine…or ten at the very most, and when the two older girls entered the room, immediately ceased their gaiety and bowed before quietly exiting the room. Mu and Flora sat down on opposite sides of the table, steam from the pot of tea rising from the center of the table as a sort of translucent barrier between the two. After pouring her own cup, the young woman propped one arm behind her and leaned slightly back, sipping the steaming brew from the cup held in her opposite hand. She couldn’t remember the last time she had had a good cup of tea—her boss and his wife were more of the coffee-persuasion. “The temples always have excellent tea…” she murmured, keeping her one hand wrapped around the warm cup. Tea was always so soothing.

Ten Years Ago…

“What’s the point in being a damn summoner when I cannot even summon?” I snarled at my master, as usual, he was calm, quiet, and unmoving, it was always impossible to read him. The walls of his dining room bounced the echoes of my enraged tone until it began to fade. Seymour acknowledged the echo’s disappearance, as if he were waiting for it to dissipate before letting his words run rampant. He looked up at me, slightly twisting his head to the side.

“Crystal, you are very young, the fact that you are even breathing is nothing short of a miracle. The fayth’s power takes a toll on you, physically and emotionally. Your training is far from over.” I grunted at his words. “Far from over? I prayed to the fayth! It accepted me. I’m one of the best mages in all of Spira and a member of the Macalania Temple, what else could I possibly be trained in?”

“Maturity. Your overconfidence is a large factor in the situation, you try to force it, but you must let it come naturally, just like the ice you weave.”

I sighed.

More training? Just what I need, I can never catch a break.

“If it’s not shooting ice shards at fiends or sparring, It’s school, studying, and praying. I’m running ragged here, Seymour! All I do is fight and pray and it’s killing me, I’m not a machina, I need sleep, friends, a life…” He slowly made his way over to me, taking my hand.

“Crystal…this training is what you wanted, I am making you a warrior, not just a mere summoner, you have so much potential, and you are gifted amongst others, most would have gone mad by now, but here you are. I won’t let you fail, I promise you that.” He gripped his hand tight around mine as he smiled, I trusted him completely. I put my other hand on his cheek, pulling him closer as our lips touched.

The door crashing open was enough for me to instinctively jump away from him, I spun around, staring at random art on the wall to avoid any sort of suspicion, I would never want to harm his reputation in any way. He is truly a great man. “Sir, a man named Baralai would like to speak to you.”

Present Day...

“Nap time is over, Crystella, we are almost to Kilika.” One of the guardians said, shaking me as I groggily slipped back into the real world. “Fine fine fine! Damn, I’ll be up in a minute.” I sighed. Out of the beach and into the jungle. Guess I can’t complain, I got accepted as a guardian, I’m assuming anyways, Lucille really didn’t give a direct answer, but I tagged along, no one has said anything yet, so I’m good…for now.

I rubbed my jaw, still sore from the incident.

I sat up, pulling out a torn, slightly crumpled piece of paper, I unfolded it, gazing at the faded ink:

1.Yuna
2.Paine
3.Gippal
4.LeBlanc
5.Dona
6.Tromell

I glared at the list, pen in hand, it looks like a revision is in order, depressing I couldn’t do the deed myself, and that I had lost track of those who had done me wrong in the past. With the exception of Gippal and LeBlanc, the others could already be dead. I crossed Yuna and Paine from the list. After a few scribbles, my new list is complete. Of course it will have to wait, but hey – something to look forward to.

1.Gippal
2.LeBlanc
3.Dona
4.Tromell
5.Eve

I grinned at the paper, tracing the markings with my finger.

“Hey, you with the guardians? They left without you.”

“Damn it!”

I walked outside, leaping off the boat. After asking around, I ran towards the direction a villager had pointed out.

Lucille nodded at the recent news, though paid close attention. The last thing she wanted was to seem ignorant; every detail counts. As she recalled, Lady Dona was once a summoner herself, though Lady Yuna had beat her to Sin. Well, that is what she was told, so whether it was true or not, she would never know. But the one truth was that Lady Dona really was a Summoner, and hailed from Kilika. As she looked at the lady, Lucille frowned to herself a bit. Oddly enough, she had no idea someone so...scantily clad was from the temples. Even her own outfit, which only bore her midriff, was considered rather risky, but Lady Dona's clothes were...very revealing.

Shaking her head in order to stop staring, Lucille cleared her throat, taking Ayumi's advice to go on and she approached the former Summoner. "Excuse me, m'lady." She greeted her politely, not wanting to offend (or worse) her. "Might you by chance be Lady Dona?"

Finally, the boat landed in Kilika. The temple here was home to Ifrit, the aeon of fire. Now if only they could find it. Someone suggested talking to a former by the name of Dona. Again, they could not find what they were looking for. The group continued to walk along the village floating on water. Lucille leading the way despite not knowing where she was going herself.

"Well we are in quite the pickle. No direction, no Dona, no nothing." Daniel said aloud, hoping magically, some hint or something would appear in front of them.

To his surprise, that was exactly what happened. "Excuse me, m'lady." Lucille greeted her politely, not wanting to offend (or worse) her. "Might you by chance be Lady Dona?"

The woman put her left hand on her hip and nodded her head, "As if you didn't know already." She snapped back, a bit angrily at Paige. "I'm guessing you came here wanting to know where Ifrit is being held?" Daniel stepped forward.

"Barthello!" She yelled, before anyone could respond. A large, muscular man. He looked like a big oaf, showing very little expression on his face. Years ago, he had hair. This was no more, most likely he shaved it off.

"Yes Dona?" He asked.

"I don't have time for this, show them to the temple with the fayth in it." She commanded. Barthello silently replied with a courteous nod and a beckoning of the hand to get the crew to follow him.

Shifting through the spaces like only Mist can.
Riox smiles to himself as he walks up the ancient steps to the temple in Kilika. He admits that the tropical beauty of the area will always get to him, but he doesn't have time for that. No, he needs only to hide out in the temple itself posing as a common warrior coming to offer his prayers. The thought of praying at a temple that has lost its way almost sends him over the edge of getting sick, but he supresses the urge with his will. He quickly brings to mind his current mission and how a certain woman piqued his interest on the ferry over here. He remembers how she gave off the aura of a summoner, but he couldn't hear if she actually was. All he knows is that the woman was quick to interact with the summoner that abandoned her prilgrimage about ten years past. Oh how fate likes to play her tricks on people.

His mind is instantly silenced the moment that one of the many priests walks towards him and asks if he's a Gaurdian. He silently curses the thought of protecting one of them, but thinks it best to play the part. So much for the guise of being just a random warrior. "Yes. Her Ladyship had me scout out the forest and take care of any fiends. I am to wait for her here while she goes through the path escorted by others." The man nods and offers the single most insulting action to Riox before asking if he should have the kitchen prepare some food. Riox, feeling a little hungry himself, nods and follows the man to the mentioned room to give them any aid that he can offer. Surprisingly, the room turns out the be emptier than what one would expect at a temple, but that just makes things easier.

"I beg your pardon, sir. But might I have your name?"
"I'm known as Riox."
"In that case, Sir Riox, please relax and wait for your summoner to arrive while we prepare the food."

Riox watches as the older man summons three others from the hall only to begin ordering them to prepare food for a visiting summoner. Riox knows his chance when he sees it. He pulls the sword from his back and points it towards the older man with a wicked smile on his face. Fear and confusion consume the priest until Riox lowers the sword only to snap it up and slice the man from the crown downwards. It could be from shock, or it could just be from the ignorant women not noticing, but the women remain silent even after the split priest falls to the ground. Riox turns to the three and focuses magic into his right hand after the puts the blade back onto his back. He quickly sends the magic out to the three women right as they notice his actions and watches as they freeze in place. The ice quickly breaks apart and seems to vanish into a mist taking chunks of the now frozen corpses with them. Now he makes his way out of the room through one of the back entrances only to emerge hidden by foliage near the entrance to the temple. He silently makes his way to the stone gate and begins to rest there with his sword propped against his body between his legs. The bodies are sure to be discovered by the time the summoner arrives. Then he will strike.

Ayumi placed her hands on her hips, standing behind Daniel a little. She sighed and stepped out from behind him and stood by Dona a moment, watching Barthello beckon the group. She turned to Dona to speak with her. She rubbed her arm awkwardly, trying to think of something to say. Anything she might say would just be thrown back in her face, she was used to it but still, and she knew if she spoke with Dona she would most likely blurt out about her secret. The secret that her parents work at the temple.

"Lady Dona, I would appreciate it if you didn't say anything about my connections with the temple." she whispered to the old summoner. Dona glanced at her and then looked back at the group, whom were now leaving.

"I can't promise anything, kiddo." she spoke, following behind the group, leaving Ayumi to gape at her and get flustered.

That ticked her off, she's supposed to be a summoner, kind and gentle, not mean! Shaking her head, she hurried behind the group so she didn't seem to be lolly-gagging. Her hands on her swords in case of an attack.

Flecther got up from the ground and smiled to himself. He had another place to be right now, most likely where Felden was also going to be aswell. He knelt down, placed one hand on the ground and then ran forward, then he leapt as he turned into a Shadow. He hovered for a split second to get his balance and then took off to get to Sin, hopefully alongside Felden incase he enraged the Beast with his news and needs a hand getting away.

(Sorry for the short post. Getting in touch with Light for the next part!)
