For all of the fans out there who were waiting for an iTunes release of the brand new remixes of "Hikari" and "Simple & Clean" serving as the theme songs for KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, your wish has been granted! "Hikari (Ray of Hope MIX)" EP will release January 11th 2017 on iTunes.
The EP will contain four tracks remixed by Japanese producer and DJ PUNPEE:
- Hikari (Ray Of Hope MIX)
- Simple And Clean (Ray of Hope MIX)
- Hikari (P's CLUB MIX)
- Simple And Clean (P's CLUB MIX)
"Hikari (Ray of Hope MIX" EP can be pre-ordered from iTunes Japan.
The cover for the EP will be the artwork Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura illustrated as a gift to Utada Hikaru to celebrate the release of her 15th Anniversary Cover Album back in 2014.

They were mixed specifically for Kingdom Hearts. We dropped the ball on an interview a few weeks ago but Nomura confirmed Utada worked with them on it.

Japanese artist release singles all the time, let's wait maybe it will be announced before the year ends.

You are right, EPs have more songs than singles, let's wait and see ;P
I meant the treatment of singles vs EPs but you are right about that. But EPs rarely get physical releases these days due to how cheap the are typically. You get more profit from digital sales of EPs than physical.
