It's been a long time waiting but the cover art for the Kingdom Hearts Series Memorial Ultimania has finally been revealed! Releasing on October 2nd, this Ultimania consists of 256 pages of detailed information, guides and artwork from the entire series thus far, including some that has never been released to the public.
It will be available for 3132 yen (roughly $28.79 USD). If you're unsure of where to import the Ultimania, here is a list of useful links for you to use below:

I am more excited for this than I am for the Japanese release of 2.5

How much there is to translate has nothing to do with it, money does. The games themselves hold more to translate than any book. If they thought they'd get a decent profit they'd translate.
So should I just forget about a translation and go ahead and import it?

You're right with everything but the content. A single Ultimania contains far more text than any one of the games.
This is kind of a loophole in the argument, but if you have a Japanese import store in the area such as Kinokuniya, they nay have some copies in stock, or you can place an order with them.
Nomura's blue eyes fetish is taken to the extreme here. XD
But in all seriousness, I really like this cover. I feel like the expression on Sora's face is fitting somehow, and the blend between the white and blue is just lovely here, imo.
I may just have to import this...

I don't care if I can't read it, I already have the entire KH mythos memorized, lololol. So, unless there's some surprising interview stuff in there, I'll already know all of it. And said surprising info will be translated on here, I'm sure. I mostly just want it for the artwork and such. I already ordered a copy from Amazon JP.
That's my favorite Sora art. KH1 had such bold lines and bright colors in the official art... DDD channeled it a little bit, as did Coded. I love it. I loooove it. I actually always wished that THAT official art of Sora would be his in-game icon, instead of the 3/4 frontal icon. As soon as PCSX2 gets texture hacking, it shall be so.
I like the cover, but I would only buy these if they were in English.
That cover art is stunning! I really hope it comes to the US, but like everything else KH, it probably won't. I might actually have to import this one, which I usually don't for the ultimanias...but hot dayum!
After pre-ordering this, I feel like I'm more excited for this than I am for the actual game to be released stateside, lol. Although, that may only be because there's still no mention of anything other than the pin coming with our version of 2.5, and this is exactly the kind of KH merch I've always wanted to be included in some sort of special edition, or just released standalone.
Although, it may have more to due with the fact that this releases in two weeks, whereas 2.5 still has months to go to release in the West.

Nope. It's in the kh1 ultimania (Atleast the one that was released with final mix)

My imported copy of this just arrived today. For those of you who have been wanting a high quality collector's book for the KH series, this is it. It literally is a Kingdom Hearts version of the "Hyrule Historia" book for the Zelda series. The art section is HUGE and contains a ton of really great stuff. In fact, most of the artwork found in the 1.5 LE artbook is in this Ultimania, in addition to tons of other stuff. It even has separate sections for the Final Mixes, so there's an entire KH1 art section and a completely separate KHFM art section. And the same applies to every game in the series and their respective Final Mix versions.
Basically, if you've ever wanted a giant all-inclusive KH artbook, this is the one. And on top of that, it includes way more than just art since it shows tons of screencaps summarizing all the events in every game. And of course there's text, but I can't read any of it since it's Japanese, but that's not an issue for me since I know the entire KH story and all its details.
This is well worth the import and I sincerely doubt this will be coming stateside since no Ultimania has ever come stateside before.

I was surprised to see that Nomura actually did draw some damage icons for Terra and Ven, even if they still aren't used.
This thing looks amazing. But im in the boat alongside a few of the others. Books are meant to be READ (im NOT knocking the artwork). Having the pictures is nice, and id love that. But it would kill me to not understand the text as I sat and looked at it.
I dont endorse this as a reason to NOT get it, though. Im not getting it fot the sole reason that I cant read it, and im sure its a wealth of info I already know. Nazo is right about getting it since most of us know it all, but I personally wouldnt feel like I got the WHOLE thing. Id get half the experience, and THAT'S the problem.

There's a full page image of that in there, as well as the cover for 2.5. So, there'll finally be high res versions of both images, since there aren't any on Google. I'm still surprised that that CGI 1.5 image never got uploaded in high quality.

Sadly, Square Enix wouldn't upload either of them. They probably had their reasons even though we've gotten hi-res artwork before, but it's still unfortunate :c

Well that sucks. That huge image of the 1.5 cover is amazingly detailed and I was hoping for another like that for 2.5. Oh well. I did attempt to scan the 2.5 image in my copy and it looks really good and high quality, but my scanner is also small and a bit dirty, so getting a good scan is tough. I'll patiently await someone with better tech to scan it and upload it here.

If it's anything like the one in Sydney, it'll probably be another two weeks or so (that's how long my JP book orders take to arrive); I pre-ordered in June and they said it was still in processing or something like that.
Someone finally unboxed the CE of 1.5 and 2.5. Funny thing is, every single piece of artwork that is included in the artbook is included in the Series Memorial Ultimania, save for the very last page which is another new Sora drawing by Nomura. However, the Ultimania has dozens of drawings that I personally have never seen before. So, if that's all the artbook is, then I don't mind if all we get is the pin in the US. What with the 1.5 & 2.5 soundtrack set and this Ultimania being released prior to the Western 2.5 date, that's more than enough for me to be satisfied instead of a CE. Although, if one does get revealed soon, I'd still get it.

So it confirms that the Ansem in Riku post-KH1 was not the actual heartless Ansem. His existence as a heartless came to an end with KH1 from then on all that was left of him was some lingering darkness within Riku. It also confirms that Ansem is the one who put the recusants sigil on Sora, and if this timeline is to be believed all of TAV fought Mysterious figure. It also implies that the X carved in Saix’s face is also a recusants sigil like Sora’s.
It also distinguishes between Braig and Xigbar while Isa seems to be refered as Saix from DDD onwards.

Can you scan the image of 2.5's art, pretty please? I've tried a couple times with my copy of the Ultimania, but my scanner isn't the best. Really hard to get a quality scan.
Zephyr's scanned the art in the book but not the poster itself if that works? Though we also have the page textures to deal with, which I'm attempting to photoshop out. We'll see how that goes...

If you mean he scanned the page in the Ultimania that has the 2.5 art, yes that would be lovely. And yeah, that was another thing when I tried to scan the 2.5 art. The page texture makes it look a bit fuzzy.

AND FURTHERMORE IN HIS DEFENSE, the fanbase only predicted it with the use of trailers and knowing everyone's story thus far. Yen Sid couldn't possibly have seen some of the things we see <_<
Well, YX was using time travel that Yen Sid would have never thought of or think possible to do; so I think that is how MX and YX were hidden because it probably wasn't logically possible thinking of that occurring. Idk.
