Paine was among the first ones I fully guilted, so I can skip today's aside from the jewels. Rest of the week I'll need to farm though.

Speaking of Jewels, the new deal sounds enticing, but Imma skip it like the Kairi one. Might be all 6 star, but no Dots and no Minimum Tier 3 makes it less useful overall. Good thing too, I'm almost to 15000 saved up. Really want to have that amount on hand for Ill KH2 Kairi...

Tried that deal and yeah - I went for atk boost and pretty much got nothing else besides it. Addet one dot to my Demyx and Winnie, got Jumbo and Dumbo which are not even helping with xemnas quest so useless too, and something among tier 1 medals.

Another Nova event, good. Got another Donald too, free boosted lvl3 guilt medal, might as well grab two. I don't really like using multiples of the same medal but can't argue with the results. Now I just need to get it to 100%

I'm glad that 6* versions are so easy to get, but I do worry about being able to keep up with this event. Last time it happened I think I was on Thanksgiving break, which gave me a lot of time. Tomorrow I'll be back in classes and it's a busy semester.

Unless you really want atkboost3/defboost3 - ongoing Kairi EMC is genuinely better in any way. It costs a little less, have better medals pool and all 6* comes already 3dotted instead of one. And in this one you are able to draw 1-2 tier medals or actually every 6* medals that are not event or quest ones.
Even those that comes to 6* through leveling.

Yep, agreed. Scrooge pull not really worth it, better go for the Kairi, or just wait for a better deal. I'd personally recommend deals that have small pool, like the 1.5k deals, you have a higher chance of guilting medals that way.

Are we missing any farmables after this week that haven't been in a Nova event yet? The only one I can think of that I'm not sure has been yet is Stitch, but I probably just remember wrong and it was in the first one. I like these events, more would be welcome. Maybe bring back the DDD Sora & Riku or something, since Meow Wow was also brought back a while ago?

guess the big update will be this friday but honestly i lost hope in SENA they sure know how to disappoint us but at least they gave us hints that proud mode is coming this week, why else would they give us many jewels,skills, and bring back ikairi for? but even so unless they give us equal right to jp we won't stand a chance in proud mode

They "gave" us Illustrated Kairi... for ten pulls. Right.

In JP they are guaranteed at least one premium medal in every draw. Returning Illustrated Kairi for ten pulls after we had five pulls going on for a while (and even some old premium medals offered with that deal) is quite a slap to the face, and isn't helping anyone. Aside from those who are willing to spend real money (lots of real money).

SENA doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot to be changing up things for the release of Proud Mode. Unless after robbing people with this Illustrated Kairi "deal" they're going to turn around and start going to the guaranteed premium medal draws while introducing the next line of medals. lol

Seriously, I think rarely anyone in our version who's not a whale would stand a chance in proud mode. And honestly, I feel like the pulls are getting worse and worse while in JP, I at least still get key arts and stuff quite regularly.

Lol we're talking about SENA here the same SENA that gave us shitty updates for 2 weeks while jp get keyart 6 and 7 and illustrated roxas and woff and 2.8 medals in the same month it's obvious they don't care about us only thing they care about is our money and here's another reason why they don't care about us, they always make alot of mistakes they give us false information's in notices than couple days later they apologies for screwing up but in jp they never make any mistakes Lol they only pay attention to JP.

While it is true that it's much easier to sue in America, that does not necessarily mean that the case will go through. There are thousands of idiotic cases that you never hear about because the courts simply dismiss them for being dumb and a waste of time and money.

Someone could sue SENA easily, but actually winning the case is another matter altogether. Large corporations tend to be safeguarded by some of the best lawyers that money can buy. So good luck with getting past those.

I guarantee you that suing on the basis that some fans are butthurt will NOT win anything. SENA needs to be in some direct violation of some kind of law, and as far as I know, the laws that are keeping JPUX in line don't apply outside of Japan.

It depends on the premium. Many premiums have benefits outside of their attack power, which means they are useful without guilt. In fact, some medals like Illustrated Kairi, it doesn't really make a difference. Guilting her isn't really even useful. Her effect is complete without guilting.

Yeah. Many of the premiums have buffs/debuffs which are really useful, because you don't have to choose between doing damage and buffing. I have over 10k jewels saved for the first time now, and I'm definitely not doing a single pull until I'm guaranteed to get something good. Don't want to waste time saving just to pull a couple of Abus and Lumiere.

On the flipside, there are some seemingly idiotic cases that you do hear about where the plantiff wins (such as when that woman sued McDonalds for serving coffee that was too hot with no warning). That being said, suing a game company because their already F2P game got challenging sounds like a much greater reach.

At least with the coffee case, one could argue that it's a public safety matter. I'm willing to bet that the woman was aware that the contents were hot even without a warning. That situation just happened to present a good opportunity to file a lawsuit, win, and get some compensation, and she and her lawyer weren't going to pass it up.

SENA and UX, though? It's a phone game that we play on our own volition. It can't directly damage anyone's health. A lawsuit be shot down quickly at best and completely ignored/dismissed at worst.

I still wonder. At what point does someone just not play this game? I love it, but it has it frustrations, especially if you can't spend money on it. I can never get any of those medals awarded for HSC events. I never make it very far, can't beat Lv. 200 enemies. I suppose there are different levels of happiness one must find in the game and just plug away, enjoying what you can. Sigh.

I'll stop playing when all the story quests are out and the game ends :D That's still my main motivation, if there was no story I wouldn't have any motivation to keep playing. I'm trying to get good medals mostly so that I can for sure complete every story quest they throw at us.

I'm struggling with the Story Quests. I have to now use "continues" in order to get past the bosses, and that takes my jewels. That isn't the way it should be. It would make me sad to have to give up the game.

To second what Muke said, I've spent a whopping total of $5 on this game since launch (for the Cyber Monday deal). While I too never have gotten any HSC medals (I'm really prepping for Ariel though), I've gotten through all the story quests and can take out lvl 200 enemies fairly often.

I don't know when you started KHUx, but for F2P players, the game is truly a waiting game. I've amassed 80k+ F2P jewels all through daily log-ins and jewel quests. I've done 2 guaranteed Ill Epic Medal pulls since the game released, have gotten a slew of epic medals to get me through all story quests, and still am sitting on 35k+ F2P jewels now as we wait for Ill KH2 Kairi or another Aqua medal.

I still can't beat the MoG quests, but there was a time I couldn't beat any adamantite quests or proud quests while whales could. So as long as you're not trying to make the scoreboard, you can make it there eventually so long as you have patience and don't impulse jewel spend. A Youtube channel I've just started to watch within the past few weeks goes by the name smellyoctopus. He runs a F2P account (and a paid account) and advises F2P players on how to make the most without spending anything.

He's still kind of hard to follow. He is smart, and I believe he really did get where he is without spending much money. However, he has played the game in a specific way from the very beginning, which has set him up for the success where he is right now. Like, he saved up his jewels and ended up pulling for an Illustrated Cloud early on, which got him up high enough in the HSC to get a guilted Darkside.

And then he has Jack and Sallys. He has an Illustrated Kairi, which he literally saved up 30,000 jewels from. And Kairi is a game-changer. I know she is literally the difference between me being able to clear these Xemnas quests and not. Not only does she give the best buff, but she also heals. The reason people with her are surviving are because they have her. =/

Even though he's just about as F2P as I am, I can't even begin to keep up with him.

I appreciate him going back and making a fully F2P account starting recently. However, that account is the opposite in regards to me - he's way behind. So that account doesn't really help me much, either. =/ (Although it's funny, both that account and mine ended up at the same place in the Xemnas B event. It's just that his account was scraping through those events, while I dominated all of the way up to the spider) But his general advice for how to handle the future, I would definitely take!

On his first account, he recently mentioned that he spent $70 thus far. So he's not a "whale" in the full sense, but he spent far more than I currently desire too.

However, his second account is helpful, as you said, moving forward. There's no way to go back and amass Xmas Soras or OG Goofys, but his hesitancy with spending jewels (unless you're guaranteed a medal) and advice on stacking up on certain event medals can't hurt. Plus, he plays smart and his set-ups are good for brainstorming.

He is not a 'whale' in any sense. $70 in Unchained is equivalent to like $5 (or less) in the real world. The amount of money that the whales have to be spending on this game is truthfully unspeakable.

This is sad, but true. He's almost as much F2P as I am. Spending flipping $70 on a game should be outrageous, but by this game's standards it's not even that much.

I still have to wonder what SE was thinking. I may have said it before, but these are NOT microtransactions. I'm not Donald Trump. I don't have that kind of mindset with my money. Even if I did have a bunch of money, I still don't see how anyone could justify this. But here I go again... I'll shut up now.

I have to admit I'm glad that this time around, the Nova event is pretty easy. The toughest enemy of the stage each gave me a 6* medal until now which is cool. Makes guilting so much easier.

The term 'whale' isn't so clearly defined among the community and some comments on the videos stated that even $70, to them, is practically a 'whale.' Heck, $5 for me was a tough decision!

As much as I understand the upset the community has with SENA on particular issues (Xemnas B) and I don't think what SENA is doing is morally upright, I don't harbor much anger towards them. They are a business and, from that point of view, they're smart.

As someone who hasn't touched KHUx JP, unable to compare to KHUx global, I don't find KHUx that bad. It may have an incredibly high entry barrier for those just starting now, but with patience, perseverance, and planning, the main game is easily doable. Heck, the 2 pulls I've done (Ill Aqua and Ill Xemnas) weren't even the 2 smartest choices out of all the illustrated epic medals thus far.

If anything, I think the game is most unfair to those who spend some, but aren't willing to commit thousands. The reason being, the game has an incredibly high turnover rate for top tier medals. Think of how many past illustrated medals no longer are competitive against even current event medals (my boosted, guilted OG Donald is stronger than my Illustrated Aqua and Xemnas!). Perhaps that's what's frustrating, because as you said, spending $70 should get you somewhere. However, in this game, it only gets you somewhere until the next EMC.

This time: Paine, Pence, Yuna, Olette, Rikku, and Hayner.
That only leaves 3: Young Herc, Stitch, and Jiminy.
Don't know what they would do to make up the full week.

@kupo: I understand, someone who has spent $70 on this game *should* be a whale. But it simply does not work that way. Does $70 even get you enough to get the 10 pull guarantee? I just checked and no it doesn't. Spending $100 on jewels only gets you half of that. It actually gets you slightly less than half of that.

I can't. I'm all happy and fine with SE being a business and needing to find ways that make money, but that's outrageous. It'd be like going to McDonalds and them charging you $100 for a meal. The "they're a business" excuse just doesn't even work.

They could start adding tier two medals.

Well there are restaurants out there that charge $100 for a meal, which they can because "they're a business." If you can't afford to eat there, there are many other places (such as McDonalds) that provide food for far cheaper. In this case, SENA provides the option to play F2P.

So, while it's a matter of perspective, keeping their business-status in mind probably helps avoid getting frustrated. Since after all, what good is my frustration beyond decreasing my lifespan?

I started playing KHUx over Thanksgiving Break. Even taking full advantage of two no-AP events, and playing the game consistently (casually, but consistent), I still feel there's this big hurdle as far as where I'm at and where I could be in the game, and I don't know if that's because of my skill/lvl, my medals (70+ medals and my only healer is Jiminy, fml), or if it's just the difference between F2P and paying. This doesn't diminish much from my overall gameplay experience: I enjoy the story, and I still have a sense of accomplishment every time I power up a medal.

So, this discussion gives me flashbacks to when I was an avid user of the TinierMe website, before it shut down. TM was the English version of a Japanese forum/dress-up site, which still exists here. Basic idea: horrible forums with amazing avatars, but the ONLY way you could get clothing was from themed Gachas. In it's heyday, gachas were released twice a week, had about 15~20 items to roll for, and you bet your life outfits, hairstyles, and eyes had lower drop rates than accessories, hats and shoes (I also remember when that Gacha law came out; it was a big deal). And people would spend hundreds of dollars a month on these things. You could technically trade items with other people, but there was no viable currency (well, there was, but it was worthless), so it was all based on this convoluted bartering system I find hilarious in hindsight.

Anyhow, bringing this point around, it's a little funny that the conversation here mirrors a lot of what I heard back then. TM users felt they weren't getting the full experience of the sister website, which was months/years ahead in content, and had more options as far as prices and prizes. Something to keep in mind, both then and now, is that the way the Japanese (actually, a lot of Asian countries) and the way Americans spend money is vastly different. They spend more (often going into debt), and are more likely to spend on non-physical items than a Western market does. There are many reasons TM shut down, but I think the primary one was that the website owners saw the numbers the Japanese website was pulling in, and expected a US version to do similar, but with half of the work. They didn't realize they were reaching a smaller, more niche market, with people not as willing to spend money on something they couldn't physically own. I hope this isn't what SENA is doing, with their weird drop rates (what's the cost of pulling medals in JP?) and nerfing, because I've seen this before. At least KHUx has an ongoing story that people are invested in, otherwise I'd be more concerned about the game's future.
