It's just stupid… we're this far in the game, but there still is NO way of getting Brooms without spending Jewels and/or money. It sucks. I understand that it took JP a little while as well, but come on.

I totally agree with you, Muke. I'm so sick of having a ton of Tier 5 medals in my storage which are practically useless because I can't guilt them. And pulling from deals just gives me more new ones instead of old ones, so this useless collection is increasing (they are one-dotted now, wow!). Wish we could have those japanese deals where you get one out of 5 shown premiums. And giving us 2-3 brooms per month wouldn't kill Sena's money source entirely.
And I HATE getting important medals out of union cross. It was great with the adventurer, it was so nice to be able to add a trait to old medals and give them a little rebirth. I had fun last week, I was able to fill the 4 boards in 3 hours because I was flooded with coins due to being MVP and such and I actually had quite fun. I hated the HPO weeks because they were so incredibly tedious and random and now it's HPO all over again. Ugh.

Agreed. I don't like having to farm a lot, and I completely hate what they are doing. I just hope the drop rates are better now... which they most probably are not. Whatever, more Jewels, I guess. So... that's a plus, at least.
It doesn't help that the EU times completely suck, either. I live in Vienna, and I totally won't diddlying wake up at 3 in the morning to farm this. Or 7. Can't they do it at 4 times, like with Raid Bosses? Those aren't that good either, but definitely better than Union Cross..
I'm also gonna point out how they removed the pineapple earrings as well (+6 skill perk). They're in the banner.

The week's raid boss is ridiculously easy. Level 99, defeating it with still 1 turn and a half left... No need for Nova or Second Chance! Wow.
EDIT - seems this Union Cross is easier than the Twilight Town trio, as the individual medals only go to 5 star, then the fused medal is the only 6 star. Only one medal will need the mega grind, then a lesser grind on the others.

I'm pretty sure it did not take JP this long. I'm pretty sure if we were in line with JP, we would have had brooms in avatar boards and coliseum months ago.

Well, at the very least this event is much easier than the last. I've gotten a Pooh B on nearly every run. And... Guess what? RNG loves me for once, because I rolled Extra Attack the very first try. After the Hell that was the HPO event, that was needed. lol

Wow, that sucks, but expected from SENA. It does seem that they're just always gong to make brooms rare just so they can make more money off the premium quests. I'm considering taking next month off of vip weeks so I can recover money lost, global just isn't worth it. I'll probably just limit it to when they have extra jewel quests with the vip medal. This whole global experience with SENA in Union X is making me seriously considering quitting the Kingdom Hearts series after KH 3. Tired of this jp getting the better treatment time after time too.
Hope I can get the gold crown for my first time for this week... I need something for my birthday from Union X that you don't need to buy, lol.

No, but they are adjacent. In EST terms, the Raid Bonus is at 11 and 5 for both AM and PM. UC bonus time is at 10PM and 2 AM. So the UC bonus time is first when it pops up, then the Raid bonus time.
Also, I agree with Muke. Them editing out the Brooms is a troll move, to put it nicely. SENA locking them behind banners and VIP is rather insulting, I mean they should know by now that we know what JP gets. They just don't care, and it shows. Plus, having both a Raid Event and a UC Medal Farming event at the same time is overkill. At least the bonus times are at different points, but still...

At the very least the UC medals are so easy to farm. I had heard that it was improved in JP, but I had no idea that it was improved to the point of getting one medal nearly every quest.
I have a three orbed five star Pooh B with Extra Attack ready to go, and I didn't farm much at all for it.

It's understandable, the method for getting the HPO medal and this one are both very different. The HPO medals were all independent medals that could be guilted individually, exactly like the 3D Sora, 3D Riku, and Meow Wow medals, which with three six star versions you could evolve to the combined medal (the name of which I forget exactly lol).
Pooh, Tigger and Rabbit is more comparable to to the Mowgli and Pals medal, which a lot of us should have recent experience with thanks to it returning in UC. The two medals it takes to evolve into it do not have a six star form. Instead the combination medal is the six star that can evolved into.
It's certainly a bit weird we have these two different types.
I'm thinking going by the logic, if I use my Extra Attack 3 orbed Pooh as the base medal to evolve, the PTR medal should come out three orbed as well. It's a bit more annoying because this means we have to create more PTRs to guilt and reroll guilt. Thank goodness we're in the guilting campaign.

I knew it was something like that, just didn't want to get it slightly wrong. I'd feel embarrassed about that. >.<
Honestly, this event right here is done so much better than the HPO event. Either way, I'm happy, even for HPO. Before HPO we had a long drought of non-Organization XIII event medals. So HPO, and now PTR signal that event medals are becoming thing again. Besides, I knew that farming for HPO was important, because defense is a must in this game now. And guess what? HPO was key in me beating the last quest of Axel B with little trouble. I'm pretty sure I beat it on my second try, with no strategies.
HPO is great, and PTR is great, too. Not being a 4 cost medal, we can stick a Defense Boost II/III/IV on it.

lol speak for your self i played so much i made two HPOs both with extra attack and have a guilted hayner a quited pence and a guilted ollete one with extra attack , so if i was a true mad man of mad men i could have 3 hpos with extra attack, im not doing that with pooh and palls though.while this medal is a cool medal an all i prefer my vexen b. as the cost is less and the turn count is higher, but will make it and use it for power based enemies that ill need to turtle against, you know until they raise the max boost barrier from 7 to, hmm lets say 11, i think 11 will be next threshold, but yeah
Also i feel a bit blindsided by the events, we went from having virtually nothing, to free ap aka story. high score challenge, union cross medal making , and lux farming, not to mention they threw that keyart 2 at us that im on the fence about buying at least one
my only complaint is i just wish someone would put up a sora ex medal in high score friends so i can try to get donald and goofy with 35 percent

What I like about defensive medals is that they are fully F2P you cannot get better defensive medals through VIP or jewel pulls

You know, SENA could cure all the anger and dissatisfaction with their treatment of the game by simply adding more jewels per log in or permanent jewel quests and free Brooms in UC, Coli, or other free boards. Enough time has gone by and yet they maliciously keep those Brooms from us.
And yeah, those Pineapple earrings would have been so much better than that damned duck bill!

My current rule is not spend any jewels on anything unless gems are guaranteed. They had those offers a few weeks ago that guaranteed like 4 of each kind and I was shocked. Until they come out with a similar offer again I'm hoarding the jewels.
Oh and I hit story mission 660 today and it's impossible to beat right? I mean there is no way someone is strong enough to knock out the helpers before they re-heal unless you have spent thousands on this game.

Gems are one of the most important things right now. Without gems, you can't level up your keyblades. This makes a huge difference on whatever medals you have on those keyblades. Gems are the true treasure right now. And SENA gives us such precious few in the HSC or the monthly Raid event. Spending on avatar boards to get gems is my main reason right now to horde jewels...that and a chance at Sephiroth EX. BTW, I would love to see the Ansem Avatar Boards. As a female, I am tired of seeing all the male and female centered costumes. There are many females who do not love pink or frilly outfits. LOL.

That's definitely a good rule to abide to, but to be fair... you should spend on the good guaranteed medals, too, without medals, your Keyblades aren't worth shit. I literally don't have the best medals, my strongest guilted medals are Classic Donald and Flowbermeow (so two Angry Adventurer medals, Tier 3 I think?). Oh, and Sora&Roxas from the anniversary. The rest of them is not guilted, a lot of them aren't even orbed. I still managed to win that mission - with 0.2 Kairi. That's why she's been a mercy pull, she's pretty much a staple now. If you had enough jewels to pull for her and didn't, that's your choice, but basically every forum was freaking out over how she's going to be a game changer. Well, she and Illustrated KHII Kairi that has been around since April, since her gauge restore is very useful and needed for high HP enemies.
I mean I totally agree that gems are important, but you shouldn't pass up on good guaranteed/mercy medals if you can help it.
Oh, and I am totally f2p and joined with the Union Cross update. I wouldn't spend a dime on it (I would be a little tempted if they brought back the Aqua Avatar board and I'd be out of jewels though :D)

I didn't spend thousand dollars on the game and still beat it. You just read the right medals or the right strategy.
Well kudos for that because I am clearly severely underpowered for it. There have been some tough boss battles in the past but this one takes the cake.
That's definitely a good rule to abide to, but to be fair... you should spend on the good guaranteed medals, too, without medals, your Keyblades aren't worth shit. I literally don't have the best medals, my strongest guilted medals are Classic Donald and Flowbermeow (so two Angry Adventurer medals, Tier 3 I think?). Oh, and Sora&Roxas from the anniversary. The rest of them is not guilted, a lot of them aren't even orbed. I still managed to win that mission - with 0.2 Kairi. That's why she's been a mercy pull, she's pretty much a staple now. If you had enough jewels to pull for her and didn't, that's your choice, but basically every forum was freaking out over how she's going to be a game changer. Thanks for the comments. Overall it is just very difficult to casually keep up with the game and changing meta when they are releasing so many different medals so frequently and like some folks have said earlier, it's frustrating you can be holding onto a massive collection of partially guilded medals and have little hope of caping them off when very little, if anything is guaranteed from pulls. I was lucky enough to pull the "Illustrated KH II Kairi" earlier this year because without that medal I don't know what you would do in higher tiers.

That's the good thing about mercy pulls, too! I mean sure, you will never be guaranteed more than that one medal, but within my 5 pulls (-.-), I got quite a few duplicates so I'm closer to guilting them! Within some pulls, they might even come predotted so you need way less medals.
I know it's hard to keep up with medals, I'd be pretty much out of it without Muke :p But I've seen quite a few topics on different forums talking about which medal to save next for, so you should check them out from time to time. Since they see which medals come from JAP, we'll always have a few months to save jewels for them. I think right now the only thing people are looking forward to is Sephiroth Ex, we might be in for a few reprint medals though according to some people.
We did get a reprint iKairi2 shortly before 0.2 Kairi, I'm sure a few months down the road, we'll get a 0.2 Kairi reprint, too (unless you feel lucky and try pulling from the current falling price deal, it only comes with a 1:17 chance though).

In any case, I completely agree with what Alja said in both posts. Saving for gems definitely is a good plan, but if you're missing out on these meta-changing medals because of that, the gems won't really help you that much, either. If you have enough Jewels, I suggest looking up what the medal does and whether it benefits you - if it does, go for it. Get that medal.
And yeah, I'm also sure we'll get a 0.2 Kairi reprint. SENA just knows that the medal is too good and that newer players will need it, so do take advantage of those reprints.

Well if we learned any thing from illistrated kairi then come 0.2 kairi reprint banner it should only cost 13500 to get her since they made her first pull a 1500 pull

guys id wait a day or 2 before you buy these i mean we have 5 days for it but more so the banners are ending at midnight so they put up a new one either tonight or tomorrow, and id hate to see some silly super deal like woff or tsum tsum medals pop up and you bought these bordes i mean if its absolutely important go for it but thats just my advice

I bought all three boards. I still have 20000 worth of jewels left. But I am torn on which keyblades to use them on. I've just started doing the Proud quests so haven't even got any of the keyblades you get from those yet.
My Divine Rose is +29
My Olympus Coliseum is +26
My Stroke of Midnight is +34
I've got the three keyblades (Speed, Magic, Strength) in their +30's somewhere too but debating what to upgrade.
I've got about 7 magic gems now, 5 or 6 strength gems and I think 7 speed gems too...
What's the best one to level up? Or shall I wait until I've got some of the keyblades from the Proud quests? Are they worth levelling up? I've got some pretty excellent medals so I feel I can spend my jewels on getting these...

Yaay finally got my beautiful glowing Fenrir! Back to pretty much 0 jewels, but I don't even care lol. No medal is better than a glowing keyblade. Too cool.

You know, I can almost agree with this. I mean, a Premium or Epic medal is pretty much worthless, unless it's a major debuffer or buffer, unless it is guilted. And who has hundreds or more to try and guilt one of these medals? So yeah, pretty much go only for guaranteed mercy pulls, VIP medals, and concentrate on any of the free farmable events and any of the gem or avatar boards.

Do you have any of the proud mode Keyblades HLC. if you do id suggest trying to level of Fenrir with your gems, Mainly because i used that keyblade to get through the sun gems guests just with Saix B and Hercules and Phil
My other recommendation is you hold onto your gems for a month or so maybe 2, i know this sounds a bit loony but there is a new Keyblade we are about to get in story mode Called Fairy Stars its Obtainable in quest 683, were on 670 as of right now, And Sena Genrally likes to update story with 15 to 20 Quests every time it does. We just got our update this month so it might be next Month but the stats on it are pretty good

I mean, I wouldn't be mad if we didn't get brooms per se, but after so many messed-up notifications, the obvious edit of them and all the stuff they're currently pulling, I really don't think a measly 300 jewels cut it. If they gave something back, I'm sure lots of people would actually invest more into the game.

I haven't got any of the Proud Keyblades yet! I didn't realise you got new keyblades by doing them so I only started them recently! I'm only on quest 30 with the Proud mode but up to date with the regular story.
Hmm I might wait until I've got more of the keyblades then before using them. I might use them to level up at least one of my better keyblades but not use all my gems though.

See thats the problem with Keyblades i always want to shurk off the old ones because at teh end of the day the proud mode one get the job done, but i usually find myself coming back to using Treasure Trove And Three wishes,
But my recommendation HLC if you're going to go for it since you dont have the proud ones yet is Divine rose and Olympia, but what you should look at is what medals complimet what keyblades, example i have a Melificent B, thing is built like a tank just smashes damages up to certain levels works best on three wishes and moogle oh glory, Look at what guilted good medals you have and try to upgrade the keyblades that compliment those medals

And I don't even know which or even if I should invest in any of these gem boards. Which keyblades I should upgrade, when I should upgrade them, etc. is such a huge complex, uncertain mess (there are too many keyblades now) that I honestly shut down even trying to think about it. I know that if I make a decision I could very likely regret it very quickly.
Any jewels spent now are going to be missed out on a future banner which could really help me. But those banners could all be no guarantees and get me a bunch of tier 4s/5s that won't help me.
I don't get much gems from elsewhere because I never score too high in HSCs and I most certainly don't ever rank high in Raids because Raids are just way too much of an investment for a video game. Seriously. It would be nice to get these boards, it would be nice to have more Brooms, but even still there are not anywhere near enough Brooms. I have so many Tier 5s that being guilted could change my game - Key Art 9 w/GDD by 60% and +1000 Strength (three Mickey and Brooms away), Armored Ventus w/GDD and some other trait that isn't as helpful (is two Mickey & Brooms away), Key Art "Sky" which needs only one Mickey & Brooms. BUT I currently have three. Decisions would have to be made, and also I could end up pulling a medal that's way better than all of these (an EX medal for instance) and regret any of my decisions.
I hope SE/SENA realize that there comes a point when all of the ways they've carefully constructed the game to make the game subpar for F2P people and make them want to spend money become incredibly overwhelming at a point. It's not like only a little bit of money could be spent to help me with any of this. It's a lot of flipping money for enough jewels to even pull once. It's one thing to provide great incentive to make people want to spend money, it's another to overwhelm people with way too much at once and to provide them with gambling mechanisms for ridiculously high prices.
We *needed* those Brooms in Union Cross.

Alja, you honestly hit the nail on the head. I just don't even know if they actually care about their playerbase? It honestly just seems like they're in for the money, which isn't necessarily a bad thing - they're a company, a business. But to make it this obvious and piss off all the players just because of it? That's just stupid.

*sigh* I really thought I finally had Quest XIII, but it turned out the Infernape Heartless gives itself a bigger buff halfway through and I just couldn't deal with that...
