Wonder if they'll be implemented as foot accessories, the Foot (and Head2) avatar part categories have existed since forever but still don't have any avatar parts.
Or at least, I've never gotten any avatar parts in those categories since Browser X..
If it's that kind of accessory, then I hope it contains the ability to hit an enemy like an NPC does every 300 quests. Sometimes an extra hit is all I need to finish someone off so this is very welcome.

Just imagine if we could assign them moves and all, I think that'd be great. Like, introduce a new menu that's about these pets, where you can customize them, give them abilities, etc. That'd be way betetr than them just being an accessory! :D

I kinda doubt it's connected. Sure, it's possible, but meh, we'll have to see. If the pets are just cosmetics, I don't think they're actually connected - but if they have a story reason behind them? I can totally see it

I definitely don't want PERKS either, they already suck on outfits. But I think some abilities (which you can equip to ANY pet, they should NOT be locked) would be cool.

If it's tied to the story, then it certainly won't be coming in September to global. But we don't know.
In response to other speculation about them, I'd like to think they have much more significance than being a mere accessory with a perk.

I hope they're just generic pets that you can equip with upgrades so we're not all running around with whatever happens to be strongest at the time.

Joking aside, I'm interested with what their purpose will be. I'm hoping they're able to hit enemies. All too often a Heartless is left with a tiny dot of health after I finish pummeling it, so an extra hit would be welcome.
But I do so very hope they're not part of the story. We got enough to deal with that I don't want to think about how these new mons will play into it.

Eh, not too fond of this. I hated the Dream Eaters and was never too much into pets and the like, so I hope this is for decoration and not for story purposes, but still useful in some way without breaking the game (again). I hope you won't have to collect or level these things because Sena would surely find a way to convert these critters into real money.

Looks like we'll get only one Spirit. The Cat Star and Dog Star heads in the menu are head parts, so it appears as though we'll be able to do a bit of Frankensteining with different heads, ears, bodies, legs and tails on top of accessories.
They better get Avatar Boards. I need something to spend these 3,000+ Coins on.
I wonder if their accessories will have Luck too?

Awesome. Very glad to see a level increase! That really gives so much more purpose to raiding for me. Of course, the rewards for being up top in raiding are awesome, but there's no way I could get those rewards with my current responsibilities (plus I just don't think I have the patience to begin with lol), so it's very neat to have a reason to Raid.

The new Avatar Boards will probably be body parts and accessories for your pet.
I hope the Lux requirements aren't astronomical like they were from 250 to 300. Even with the monthly raid event, it'd be really cumbersome to get tens of millions of Lux for one level.

Awesome to see we'll be getting foreteller medals, anyone think they'll make a massive statement and put one or more down as reverse medals? If the players x experience is anything to go by then Aced would be the more obvious choice, but i'd love to see a curveball thrown in which would really make you rethink the x/ux/xbc under new circumstances

I understand complaints get tiresome (from both sides, honestly) but she's just referring to the new updates being teased in this thread. Of what's been announced, only the pets and level cap increase are likely to roll out concurrently.

Yeah... no. The masks surely are not their faces - not only would they suddenly have a different layer of "skin", that's not even how skin reacts to lightning. Their masks are very reflective and I just don't see how that'd be possible. I think this pic of Ava speaks for itself.

Typically updates of this nature are rolled around to global fairly quickly. Remember, we saw the buff/debuff limit raised from 3 to 7 very quickly after JP got it.

So not only does this shot pretty much support what Muke already said, but even more, we were actually THIS close to seeing a part of Gula's eye since anatomically his eye socket should be somewhere along the red line I added:
So yeah... they're definitely masks since we can partly see what is beneath them from different perspectives.

A) See where the white arrow's pointing; that's gotta be another button on a layer below the "name" button.
B) Mystery button #3 and curious "white arrow" button corner both appear darker than "name" and "coord".
C) Mystery button #3 appears to curve near the black arrow (as the buttons do on the right-hand edge). If it does, that would make it much shorter than "name" and "coord" which would be odd for buttons in the same menu. (see copy-pasted "coord" button above it for scale)
Conclusion from these three points? Two different menus layered on top of each other. :D[/SPOILER]...All of which don't really matter since we'll be getting them soon enough and we'll know what we're gonna be dealing with then. xDD But it's fun to speculate~
Another speculation I have is that our pet's medals are gonna work like our cards did in chi. See next to the Rank 8 and experience bar, there's an empty medal slot with x1.7? In Ux, that looks like a slot we'd put one of our medals in, but our pet's deck appears separate from that multiplier slot. On the other hand, that setup is just like what we had in ye olde days of chi, where we'd have a deck of 9 and each turn we'd draw a random 3 to attack with~ :D It raises the question though about how the multiplier(s) is/are going to change. If it's just a matter of increasing our pet's rank and therefore will be the same for everyone or if there will be some way that customizing our pet will add an attribute or upright/reverse status to the multiplier(s)...
Again, just speculations that won't mean much in the long run~ ^^);

That Sora&Riku medal is everything I want in a medal that art is amazing gorgeous one of my favorite pieces from Nomura okay. I love everything about it. The composition, the colours, Oathkeeper looks so good, that perspective goddamn wish I could draw like that it's so good. I'm going to start saving for it right now. All the jewels I can get to have a chance at it. Perfect medal perfect art 10/10.

I think you're giving the images on the medals a bit too much credit as far as canon goes.

As I said earlier, it has never been stated it needed to be just the far future.
Ava is the past (well, it's the present), but also the nearest future.
- The MoM states to both Ava and Ira that the even written in the Book is going to happen and there's no way to prevent it; while at the very beginning many thought that last passage it was referring to Xehanort, I think after Back Cover it's pretty clear it's something that they could try to prevent, meaning it's in their range of lifespan (meaning it's the War).
- Gula receives the page from the Book that talks about the traitor, and he suspects it refers to one of his comrades, meaning he takes into account that the Foretellers are indeed present in the Book.
In order for the Book to describe the War (that Luxu indeed "recorded" in No Name in 0.2) and for Gula to suspect Aced, there's gotta be mention of the Foretellers in the Book itself.
Also, the Book's content is linked to No Name's eye. I still think that if the eyes are also on the other Foretellers' Keyblades there's gotta be a reason.

The only medals I can think of that might directly go against the "power and people of the future" idea might be the tsum tsums, and yet, they too are a representation of people of the future - just with another stylistic choice than their usual depiction. Same with the toon medals and Key arts are no problem whatsoever, either. Characters from Moana and Zootopia could also make an appearance in future KH projects.

I always assumed Key Arts and group medals were supposed to represent the concept of those people together or something like that.
I remember in X there were cards that were just "Organization XIII". It's like summoning their power as a group rather than as people.

The Japanese version is suppose to cater to players who live IN Japan. The Global version is meant to cater to most people in every other country. Of course they wouldn't run this competition, it would be a nightmare with logistics, contracts, international shipping, power points (these are different all around the world, you would most likely need an adaptor).

Ava does her signature attack from the Keyblade War fight. Those attacks were so damn cool, it's amazing they'd let us have them (especially when Uχ​ hasn't gotten to the War yet)
I wonder if all of them will get BGM?
