Was Kingdom Hearts 1.5 announced during a Business or Public day last year?

so it begins at 10am in japan so... we can start watching at 6 pm in the U.S.

While we wait... Anyone had any weird Kingdom Hearts related dreams lately?
I just had one about a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer surfacing online (on this site, don't worry guys. I saw this dream trailer here first).
It's weird to me that I even had it, as I was playing Grand Theft Auto V all night before clockin' out.

Anywho, the trailer was off-screen and translated unofficially into English with yellow subtitles.
I don't remember it all, but here's what I do remember:

THE FOLLOWING IS A DREAM I HAD, NOT REAL TGS NEWS (For those who skim)

GAMEPLAY:

-Woody and Bullseye summon. (Woody took damage and Bullseye protected him)

-Keyblade Graveyard (dark) fight as Sora, with Ven and Aqua, against Venitas

-Very fast-paced. Similar to Dream Drop Distance

-Hit Venitas of edge of cliff and went into reaction-like sequence (fluently) where you are falling after him and fighting in the air.


SCENE: (unofficial English subs shown in yellow)

-Some chick who is dressed like Aqua appears. She's a bit older and has wavy light brown hair. Her name is strange, starts with either H or A. Ven exclaims her name and says, "So that's Aqua's connection!" *(seemed like iffy English translation).

-Aqua is shown now in different clothes. She appears to be unconscious.

Y'all will go deaf in a couple of hours from my fangirling. :D

I hope the reaction videos will be as good as the ones for 3 (they probably won't though).

Excited for anything Chi related and 2.5 obviously. I have so many games to play and things to do queued back into who knows when, that I feel almost at peace if they decided to hold out on both FFXV and KHIII.

An announcement of KH 2.5 and gameplay/information for KH 3 will complete my life. Hopefully, Square does this tomorrow. Can't wait.

Prediction/need: KH 2.5 trailer and 3D announcement

what time can the u.s. start watching tgs. i was doing the math but im still not sure.

The only expectations I have are a 2.5 announcement and some minor details about KH3. Anything else is just icing on the cake!

Yep. The Live Stream is on a trailer loop right now, just like it was during their E3 streams. Only thing new that's KH related is the Kingdom Hearts X trailer. So, it looks like there's nothing that's going to happen right now and I have to go to bed. Hopefully, we get all the good stuff sometime tomorrow.

So far the only good thing related to KH is Miyu Irino's narration in the KHx trailer. The trailer itself shows off old content from the 8/15 mission updates.

Okay, having seen the FFXV video again, it's exactly like master spocknort said. There was a scene where Noctis was on a bridge but leviathan smashed it with it's tail and I believe Ignis said "Isn't that Leviathan!?". Noctis then proceeds to dodge roll off the bridge right before leviathan smashed it

The other new scene would be one where Noctis is on a piece of building that broke off and is floating towards a clock tower(?) while communicating with Gladiolus(not sure if it's him)

The one thing predictable about Square is their unpredictability. Of coarse with days still left we may be surprised (but don't expect it cuz logic). 8D

I know it's probably way too early to be saying things like this, but I'm starting to get slightly worried that my prediction of them replacing the announcement of KH3 with 2.5 at D23 may have been correct (since Nomura said he wanted a big announcement at D23, but couldn't since KH3 was let out of the bag).

According to the schedule, this should be the last Square event for today & there are no Square events scheduled for tomorrow. There should be Square Events on the 21st & 22nd though.

What bothers me is that they have a schedule for all of their stage show events and I don't see any event where they could slip in anything at all about KH - it's all their MMPORGs, with occasional forays into game music and on stage show about FFIV. The only event that isn't completely self-explicable is the vaguely mysterious stage event about Final Fantasy GO THERE - some kind of FF "collaboration campaign" that involves FFXIII Lightning Returns, and may involve the announcement of some other FF spin-off, but I'd say is unlikely to result in the announcement of KH 2.5. I was holding out for them just announcing it unscripted at the start of the event but it is starting to look like that's not going to happen - which is really disappointing. I guess we will just have to wait for D23, sigh.

Actually there is one segment they could slip something in, and that's the composer panel. Of course there's no guarantee that Shimomura will even mention KH, but there's a decent chance, especially after the noise that's been made over a KH remaster OST.

But again, it's only the first day. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

I wasn't expecting anything big for KH at TGS this year. Nomura said he wants to announce something big at D23, and the biggest thing he could announce right now for KH is 2.5. And considering D23 is a much more special event in regards to KH, it makes sense that it'd be announced there instead of TGS.

Kinda disappointed that it seems we will get zero information about KH3. Nomura did say to expect new KH3 info at TGS though, so maybe something small will pop up, maybe in an interview or something.

The whole "currently under discussion" part still opens up the possibility to 2.5 because we don't know what's being discussed. It could be "what about KH3 can we announce?" or it could be "do we or do we not announce 2.5?" or maybe both or maybe something else entirely.

And if 2.5 really just cannot be announced at D23 because KH3 was announced recently, why would we expect it to appear at TGS which is even more recent to E3?

Let's put it like this: at least some version of each game that is canon has come overseas.

There is zero certainty when it comes to a company like Square Enix that seems to believe 1mil sales of a game at launch means their game is a horrible failure, or didn't know what to to with a game for almost three years because they were too scared to dip their feet into the slow river that was the PSVita and it took two years of fans complaining to finally get them to react.

2.5 will probably come out. It will probably come to the west, but don't say it with such strong certainty when we know SE can totally screw up like they have frequently in the past. I don't foresee it, but nobody thought that Versus XIII would take countless years to be made or be renamed to XV.

This is what I'm trying to say. Believing is one thing, but it actually happening is another thing entirely.

TGS is for the Japanese audience. None of the announcements there pertain to us unless explicitly said and it should remain to be taken that way.

I'm not following much of anything with X [chi] at all, but do you think that something that could be announced at one of these events (or sometime in the near or distant future) would be a localized version of X [chi] or is that a long shot?

I'm currently on my quest to platinum Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, periodically checking to see if anything pops up. It makes time go by more quickly, considering Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is a hoot and a half.

I'm not bothered, though i would like to see something but a KH crack addict already has 1.5 that needs to be platinum'd so im good as it is. Jump sounds like a safe bet but i wouldn't mind seeing something now. I'm sure square will have a decent announcement for at least one of their games on their lineup. Who knows?

So, wasn't one of the reasons that Kingdom Hearts 1.5 took as long to develop because they lost the original data from the game? Is the same to be said of what they have for Kingdom Hearts 2? I'm wondering if they have what they need for an HD remake that it will take them a considerably shorter amount of time to remake KH2 than it did for KH1.5 to be made since the models were all made from scratch.

I could also be completely wrong about the lost data thing. lol

I mean, I more-or-less agree with you. I can't see the sense in them making models identical to their old ones if they actually rebuilt everything from scratch (which you can already disprove, there were characters who received newer models but they were from KH II, Re:Coded, Birth by Sleep, etc)

I think it's safe to say that pretty much everything that may have been planned for TGS has been moved to D23. I guess Nomura really just wants to save it all for that event. It makes sense though. It's the first Japanese D23. It'd be huge success if they just flooded us with KH3 news.

And I know you guys keep saying differently, but what if they are saving 2.5 for D23? Think about that. 2.5 announced and KH3 news galore at the very first D23 Japan? That'd be quite the impressive first event.

Keep in mind that the KH panel at D23 is only one hour long, and then need to fit in all the developer/voice actor stories, field questions from the fans collected through SE Members, etc.

Rofl. You're not serious, are you? Kingdom Hearts 3 nor FFXV are launch titles for the PS4. We'd be lucky to even see KH3 in two years, and XV is only just in the process of dev being moved to the Luminous engine. PS4 games legally cannot be released before the console. It just does not work that way.

You could pre-order Final Fantasy Versus XIII for over six years. Pre-ordering anything online does not mean it is coming out anytime soon. It just means "Hey, this might exist?" Like lol I can pre-order Agni's Philosophy in Europe. There is no Agni's Philosophy game since it is just a tech demo rofl.

KH3 might be the shittiest game in the series. The game is in early development. It only exists on a super computer right now.

The KH games are not all going to PS4. People are hoping that SE decides to publish 1.5 and the eventual 2.5 on PSN so it can be streamed via Gaikai when the service launches next year.

There's something very nostalgic about a disappointing TGS, this also comes with the territory. Back when KH2 was in development it seemed to go this way, if E3 was good then TGS would suck and vice versa.

Since D23 is an entirely new thing, I'd also advise everyone not to get their hopes up again. The series is going to be showcased in a big way, but to what extent? Who knows. I feel it's more likely that we'll have a media blackout regarding KH3 for a while and a possible 2.5 will be announced there but...eh. KH3 is just too early in development for everyone to be expecting too much, regardless of what Nomura said.

Geez, other than the Dark Souls II stuff that got announced during like the first two seconds of TGS, this has been terrible. And not just Square. No one has anything interesting. What a load of shit. Usually TGS is a lot better than this. It wouldn't have been hard for Nomura to at least talk a little bit about KHIII, such as "____ world will be available" or "______'s gameplay was the inspiration" OR ANYTHING. YOU COULD'VE TOLD ME THAT FIRE WAS RETURNING AS A PROJECTILE SPELL AND I WOULD'VE SHAT MY PANTS, BUT YOU CHOSE NOTHING AAAA.

Rather uneventful TGS in terms of KH this year. Kind of disappointing. Oh well, there's more events to come later this year.

I don't think anyone is overreacting if they're disappointed. Sure we can all be blamed for getting our hopes up too high but given Nomura even said we will get more frequent news at KH3, it wasn't a bad assumption to assume something fairly large would be announced at a huge event just for Japan that Nomura especially loves, and really nothing was announced (Shimomoura's involvement was but I don't know who was really shocked by that...not a bad thing ^_^).

Nomura doesn't like events in general lol, especially if it means he'd have to appear. I'm not really sure why everyone's suddenly talking about why he loves TGS when we all know how shy and anti-social the guy is.

I want to pretend that I have hope for something substantial for this final day of TGS, but I just don't. It's over you guys. Time to go back to playing the waiting game. At least it's a game we're good at.

I'm not really too pissed. Everyone pretty much just let everything loose at E3, making it spectacular, now it's back to work. We probably won't have any mindblowing announcements till next year.

Judging by how things are lining up now that 2.5 wasn't announced at TGS, it sounds like Jump Festa is our best bet. Plus, that would be right at the end of the year, thus giving them the entirety of 2014 to release 2.5 in all the countries that they will. And of course, since 2.5 will assumably release in late 2014, we'll start getting more KH3 info around then. And then I'm guessing KH3 is going to break the 1 game per year promise in order to fully deliver, so KH3 will probably be 2016.

It would do Shimomura SO much more justice! And they could have original tracks + newer ones from 1.5! :D

But yeah, a year between ReMIXes woulda been really nice :3

So right now, my only question is whether or not they're going to find some way to keep up the "1 game per year" thing or if this is where that pattern ends. I figured that eventually they'd end it because I don't see them being able to make a new KH game per year before KH3's release, but I didn't think it'd be this soon. Ah well.
