Agreed about the bonus lol

Anyways, Triple Threat seems nice, but I thought they'd go for ATB3 again tbh. Not gonna buy this time, but that Speed Gem...

Dang it, why do I need a Speed Gem? Might as well get it when I get enough jewels. And take the opportunity with the storage.

That's the board I want too! But I really need the Speed gem as well. And more Magic gems!

So many good things...

Those speed gems really make the Avatar boards worth it. I haven't been spending jewels on almost anything lately so I have plenty so I can buy both boards. And I love the look of the Beast and Belle clothes. And that Raid Boss Omega Perk is going to be very useful too. Please keep the speed Gems coming SE, we need so many more of them to catch up to how many Power Gems we get. And the AB2Max Lux+ skill is something I've wanted for so long! that's such useful ability for weekend raid bosses. Basically, there's so many good things in this round of Avatar boards that I just have to get them.

I haven't gotten into all of the new Proud Quests yet but I'm really glad that we're getting a new magic Keyblade. I really don't like three wishes much. From the Proud quests I've been able to get through so far... damn. They're really stepping it up. Quest 112 specifically. Only 3 hit medals? Really SE? There's only about 6 or 7 of those in the whole game. That condition is so much harder than any of the other Proud Quests. That quest really stands out. It seems very unfair compared to the others.

I'm also really happy to have our medal storage capacity upgraded. I've gotten too close to maxing out my storage a few times. This will be very useful.

Ok... the bonus jewels... c'mon SENA. It's such a small amount of extra jewels. Stop being so stingey with jewels! Speaking of which, we still don't have 100-100-200-200-300 daily login bonus jewels yet as well as daily jewel quests. It's about fucking time we get treated the same as the JP version. Someone needs to do something about this bullshit.

Love that they gave us another free mickey and brooms. ^_^ Now if we could only start getting multiples of them in Colosieum like jp. :3 The Belle costume was pretty nice, and that speed gem helped me to level Sleeping Lion so I liked that too. The Counterpoint Keyblade I also got and upgraded to ish second form with the new quests, though honestly I liked the yellow handle bar rather then the second form, which has a bronze handle bar, but whatevs.

Overall pretty good update. I'm still curious if they'll give us a massive update to catch us up on the last quests of unchained X that jp had before they got Union X... or if we'll just get Union X, and they'll just periodically add in the rest of Unchained X updates? I'm kinda thinking the latter, but Union X aside from the new multiplayer, seems to be all about the new storyline...? Guess we'll just have to wait and see come April.

Brooms are always nice. This update looks pretty normal to me though. Am I underestimating the value of Gems? I never saw them as a priority and never thought to compete for them. They just were a added bonus is missions. Yet here I see several people saying that one of them justifies 2.5k Jewels. Am I just underestimating it's value? Do a few levels on a Keyblade make it that much stronger? What am I missing here?

Well, they do increase the multiplier on the keyblade which is super useful.

This is my question too... I've asked my team and no one ever answers!!!! I've obtained a handful and I don't know where they go, or what they do. Do I have a choice or is it just... idk... lol... I'm even confuzzled about the mirrors as I have 37 and people go on and on about them needing them but I'm just not quite sure for what. I'm lost at times. But I maintain a B average and do my best at whatever it is I think I'm doing my best... at? lol

Gems are used to increased a keyblade's level to 25 and higher.
Magic Mirrors are used to increase the special attack bonus of a 6* medal once you have unlocked it by fusing it with the same medal (or Fantasia Mickey B) 6 times, filling the yellow dots right next to the medal.

Yeah but it's like one level. And that usually increases the multiplier of 2 of the 5 slots. And not that much that you immediatly see a change in your strength level. I know that gradually and over time the multipliers start to add up and it makes a real difference, but just on it's own it doesn't do that much. Is it really worth 2.5k Jewels? I could almost do a pull for that. And they are often available in the Coliseum and sometimes there are specific events just to obtain them, why spent Jewels on those boards if you can just wait for a month? I feel like I'm really missing something here...

Well you see. Speed Gems are literally a rarity and they are basically needed for all of the Keyblades. Which is why some people might consider buying this *just* for the Gem, though they will of corse also make use of the Skills.

Ladyluck, Divine Rose and Lionheart. Speed gems are needed for 1 more Keyblade compared to the rest. That new Keyblade probably uses Magic gems. The skills are also nice, but again, also in the Coliseum. I mean, it's really expensive. You get them in the occasional events, pretty often in the Coliseum, yet people are willing to spend 1.5k-2.5k Jewels for 1 gem. Not to mention that at the higher levels you need multiple Gems. Lvl 29 takes 3 gems alone. That would be 4.5k-7.5k Jewels. That's alot for just a lvl :\ And the maximum lvl is 35 or something. Sure it speeds up the process, but it's very expensive and wouldn't it be better to just save those Jewels to do a 10-pull on a deal and get a good medal?

I know. But I see everyone talking about so I'm wondering if I'm missing something really important. Same happend to me when I just started playing Chi. I never thought to upgrade my Keyblade and by the time lvl 20 was introduced I was still at lvl 5. And it turned out that it makes a huge difference. So I don't want to make the same mistake and lag behind. But I also don't want to spend Jewels my inefficiently.

Out of the Keyblades we have, Speed Gems are actually needed for 5 Keyblades, with Starlight and Olympia included with the ones you mentioned. They'll also be needed for the next Keyblade we'll get, Stroke of Midnight. And compared to Magic and Power Gems, Speed Gems are the least common, so getting more of those isn't easy (Muke is saving them for Starlight, I'm saving them for my Divine Rose). Thus, for those that need them getting at least one of the boards now is a viable option. And yes, Jewels can be saved for Draws too, so that's another factor. These boards last almost 2 weeks, so for those of us with enough Jewels saved up and that get the weekly VIP bonus, as long as we balance out Jewel count right it won't make huge dents. F2P though will need to weigh their options heavily. The Skills are both brand new, and an ABMax is always good, with the Lux+ factor being an excellent boost to the event this week. We could (and should, based on the timing) also get more Jewel Quests next week, which will add up and may let someone grab a board with spare Jewels.

As for the Keyblade levels, it's less about a single level and more about getting them up for the stronger challenges ahead. Lv300+ foes are becoming a regular thing in high end, and Proud Quests are in the 200s. With Power Creep every level helps in some way, providing an extra edge needed to surmount greater odds. With my TT at +30 my Guilted Medals deal crazy damage, and Divine Rose is in the same boat. If all goes well by next week both will be +31, and I can deal more damage (Might be able to clear that darn 410 Proud+ Quest with TT+31...). Even in the normal missions the bosses HP pools mean dealing more damage increases your odds of survival period by shortening the turns they are alive. So while a single level might not sound like much, the accumulation of levels over time pays off.

In the end, it's up to the player if they want to snag a board or wait for more free Gems. With the rate we get Power and Magic Gems, it's a viable option to just wait and see where those are concerned, especially for F2P. But unless we get a sudden surge of Speed Gem grants, waiting for those could potentially be more costly. The boards are up until April 3rd in any case, so there's plenty of time to mull things over. I'll likely pick up the second board closer to the 3rd depending on what happens between now and then. Gotta stay around 15000 for KHII Ill Kairi...The one thing I'm optimistic about is that she'll be a 5 Draw Mercy pull. I'm basically banking on it metaphorically speaking. If not...I'll weigh my options when the time comes.

I forgot about Starlight, but Olympia too? I thought he was Power.
I'm more C2P I guess. Only buy the Extravanza if it's cheap or has a good deal.
The Skills are usually pretty cool, but in this particulair Board not really tbh. With Skills like AtkBIII+AtkP and AtkBIII Max and even AtkBIV soon joining us, "just" a AtkBII Max + LuxP seems a bit underwhelming. But that's a whole other matter.

I understand that. But just like Keyblades the Medals are getting alot stronger too. Look at the Illustrated Belle and Beast we just got, removing buffs is a very good ability to have in the higher levels. Especially because then most enemies have a +3 Def boost against every type. And look at the Illustrated Kairi Medal everyone is so worked up about. Undoubtedly that will also hugely boost your survival chances against stronger enemies. So compared to the Keyblade levels costs and time it takes before they really start to make a difference, wouldn't the medals be superior? Especially because they are getting stronger and stronger with each month. Much more than a Keyblade would grow in a month, atleast that's how I think it is.

I think we will probably get a sudden surge of Speed Gems. At the beginning of the game we had a huge surge of Magic Medals. They even made Terra (the guy who basically introduced the Power type in KH) a Magic medal. Now we basically have a Power surge. Seeing at how inefficient SENA is sometimes, I can totally see them surging Speed Gems.

Anyway, very detailed analysis, thanks.

True. You had mentioned using them all on Starlight in a previous post, hence I figured that's what you were saving them for. That Stats on SoM are interesting, and it has 2 Reversed Slots instead of 1. It'll probably top out at +25 for me though, depending on the Adamantite Challenges for it, since my Gems are going elsewhere (TT and DR right now. Once Fenrir releases I'll most likely switch over to using my Power Gems on that one, and once Divine Rose is maxed Speed Gems will likely go to SL, while I'm not sure on the Magic Gems...right now Upright Magic medals are my most powerful, but if we get bunches of Brooms my Reversed ones will become serious powerhouses. Guess it depends on whether the Reversed Speed and Magic keyblades are ones I'd wanna main.

Yeah, Olympia is Power and Speed. Keyblades use the Gems of the Attributes they can equip. Treasure Trove, Lady Luck, Three Wishes, Sleeping Lion, and now Counterpoint use a single type of Gem, being Power, Speed, Magic, Speed, and Magic respectively. As a result, they use the most of a single kind of Gem for each level, though Sleeping Lion and Counterpoint are cheaper on Gems as they also need Solar Gems. Olympia requires Power and Speed, Divine Rose Speed and Magic, and MoG needs Magic and Power. Since they use 2 kinds, the Gem cost is divided, and thus are a bit easier to level in some respects. Starlight and the upcoming Stroke of Midnight require all 3 types, starting with Speed then bouncing a bit before straight up needing all 3. The cost is further divided, making them cost the least for each Gem type, but still a large amount of Gems all the same. And just to complete the info, the currently JP exclusive Fenrir will use Power Gems and Solar Gems. Not sure about Darkgnaw, the Wiki only lists up to +26, but if I had to hazard a guess it'll need the Power Gems at +27 and beyond alongside Lunar Gems. Speaking of the Wiki, here's a link to the Keyblades page, should help a lot. Keyblade - Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ Wiki

This is very true. In terms of power, there are basically 3 pillars right now, Medal, Keyblade, and Skills. Medals are the highest priority due to being the primary source of damage, Keyblades second due to the multipliers enhancing the Medals, and Skills 3rd for similar reasons. So saving up for powerful Medals is the highest priority and part of the power creep. If you have the spare jewels or really need that extra boost, the Ava Boards are a good way to support the other two pillars, as the Gems go to the Keyblades and the Skills go to the Medals. They also come with Perk parts and Chips/Dales, which are a nice bonus. It's a fine balance between the two. I think I'd be considered a Dolphin if I'm using the terminology right (I only recently heard of the terms Dolphin and C2P in terms of Mobage Spending) as I typically get the weekly VIP for the Jewels and free Quest Access, but have splurged outside of that via gift cards (Especially on the WOFF draw...I really, really wanted to Guilt WOFF Sephy. Still do). The multipliers of the Keyblades increase all forms of damage from the medals and are a big factor. Not gonna lie, the damage output difference between a couple of levels is huge, or at least it has been for me. As for how quickly Keyblades level via Gems, it depends on the Keyblades you're focusing on and how you use the opportunities for gaining Gems. Thus far, Gems have only come from Events and Ava Boards, so around half of the Gems require Jewels to get (the Coliseum doesn't grant them, I just double-checked the Ranking Rewards). The Keyblade Levels are kinda like an investment that pays off in the long run, again if I'm using the terminology right. In the end, it's up to the player and their needs if they want to focus more on Gems, Medals, or a nice balance of both, with Medal selection being a heavy factor in which keyblades to focus on.

I hope it's a surge of Speed, with a nice dash of Magic on the side. Divine Rose is my strongest Keyblade in a lot of ways due to my Medal setup, and with more FMBs it'll only get stronger (I have Tama max Guilted and with 1 more FMB I can Guilt WOFF Sephy. I also have Ill Xion, Xaldin B, and Ill B&B on slot one as the buffer. That'll be some serious chops for busting many kinds of foes thanks to the multipliers on DR. 3x for Reversed Speed on Slot 5 and 2.6x for Upright Magic make Xaldin B and Tama hit severely hard). The sooner I can max it the better, since +35 increases the SP gauge to 20 alongside the power boosts. So the Speed Gems are something I really want.

Really want that avatar board, that skill sounds super cool and I have just the medal to put it on. Hope I can save enough of jewels before it ends.

O, I wasn't aware of that. It makes sense, but makes it even more expensive :\
And the wiki link. I don't use the wiki often, but it's nice they have everything on 1 page.

I would actually put skills at second and keyblades at third. There are a lot of medals that increase their special attack by having a certain skill activated, or the amount of lux collected. And then there are also skill that increase your Medal's power over 50% and rising. The Keyblade doesn't do that. Although this could change once we get to Union Cross. With abilities we can put on our medals and keyblades, they might become more important.
Are you certain they never appeared in the Coliseum? I remember seeing them quite often over there.

They were never granted in the Coliseum, only in those Coliseum Event Quests where all three of them were obtainable iirc

The multiplier is a big factor though, at least from my experience when fighting things over Lv250. Using my Marluxia A as an example, as it's Fully Guilted and has ABIIIMax on it, between my Lady Luck 5th slot (Lv26, 2.5x Multiplier) and my Divine Rose 5th slot (Lv30, 3x Multiplier) against the Magic Lv410 Ringmaster (easiest to access test dummy). Using only Ill B&B's boost only for both, I deal around 65000 damage with LL and around 98000 damage with DR. Divine Rose 5th slot caps out at 3x, so until ABIV Max that's the highest my Marly A can go under those conditions, while LL 5th slot can increase to 2.6x with 2 more levels, closing the gap a bit and upping LL's damage output. Sadly I don't know the exact damage formula on at which point which aspects are factored in, would help a lot.

As for the Coliseum, they might've been there in past months but they aren't in there this month. I can't recall getting a Gem from itin the past either, and I've been staying top 10k since October. The Wiki makes no mention of them being in Coliseum rewards either, though another user with better memory than me would know for sure.

Hmm, that is indeed a huge difference. Probably won't buy them from boards, but I will certainly make them a priority next time we see them in an event.

I could've sworn I saw them several times in the Coliseum after they got introduced. I will see if one of the KHI updates mention it.
