Kingdom Hearts Website Updates with Re:coded!

The official Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX- website updated today bringing with it an updated Kingdom Hearts Re:coded section. While the screenshots provided have already been released, it's a nice reminder to see just how far Re:coded has come, from it's days as an episodic mobile game, to a DS remake.
The page gives off some details such as a character encyclopedia that will be available, just like in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days HD Cinematics. Completing Re:coded gives the player a free theme for their Playstation 3 system, and they will be able to earn trophies while they watch the adventure.

Jiminy's Journal: a record of the adventures of Sora and his friends.
After their first journey, Sora and his friends had their memories scattered in Castle Oblivion through the schemes of Organisation XIII. In order to reconnect the broken chains of memories, they went to sleep for one year.
And, when they awakened, all that was left in Jiminy's Journal was the message 'thank Namine'. Memories returned, Sora and his friends set out on their second adventure.
And, when their second adventure was at an end and peace had been returned to the worlds, a mysterious message that no-one had any memory of had been written in Jiminy's first journal.
'Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it.'
King Mickey, wondering about the message, transformed Jiminy's Journal into data and tried to examine it, but the data worlds were being corroded by bugs of unknown cause.
There was only one person who could remove the bugs from the data worlds and solve the mystery of the journal...
In order to seek the truth, a new adventure begins for the Sora of the worlds of data.

Working his way through the enemies with Hercules
in the Coliseum, which is being corrupted by bugs,
Sora encounters a mercenary hired by Hades... Cloud!
The highlight here is a battle scene where Sora faces
off with Hades alongside Cloud and Hercules!
Taking advantage of the chaos caused by the bugs,
the evil advisor Jafar is plotting to take over the land.
Having received a copy of the magic lamp from Pete,
Jafar is attempting to realise his ambitions using the
power of magic.
Thanks to the bugs, the memories of the folks of
Wonderland have had their memories scattered about.
Sora must help Alice regain her memories, for she knows
the keyhole behind which the boss of the bugs is lurking.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded has been remade in high definition as a cinematic work.
- You can enjoy Kingdom Hearts Coded, first released as a mobile phone game starting in 2009 and remade for the Nintendo DS as Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, as a HD cinematic work.
- On top of the one hour or so of scenes from the original, there are also about two hours of new scenes. Parts that were missions involving defeating enemies and such in the original have also been newly created as battle scenes, and the battle scenes and summary parts are fully voiced.
- If you look at the Character Encyclopedia, you can understand the series in even more depth.

Yeah, I wasn't too excited for it until they said that there was going to be extra content. I love BBS and KH II but the first thing I'm going to do is watch the Re:Coded Scenes. I want to see what all they did with it and if they made the story better or not. And by the looks of it I'd say they did a pretty good job. I just hope that there isn't a lot of reading.

I think it played less like a movie in Days than I would've preferred. Now that they've added the Disney and battle scenes for Coded, I think they've listened to the criticism and focused on making this more like a movie. But we'll see this fall.

I probably watch Re Coded last, after probably hours put into again KH2 and BBS.
BBS FM has an entire segment added on at the end of the game.

Sorry about the article. The coding has been acting up lately, plus I'm waiting on some actual translations to fill up blank space.
With the text scenes for Recoded now being actually voiced cutscenes and alongside the battle scenes I'm really looking forward to watching this when it comes out. At first I was mainly excited for KH2 FM and BBS FM but with Recoded being this good I'm now excited for all three games now.
I can't wait for most of battles, Data Sora vs Jafar and Hades seem more interesting now and the final fight too with Data Roxas.
I'm really glad there is going to be actual battle scenes in this movie. I liked Days but reading script after a big scene was a letdown. Also Re:coded was a pretty good game, maybe not the fan favorite but I racked up over 90 hours of gameplay on trips trying to get those trophies.
Nothing exactly new, but it keeps Coded in my mind, which will be a good cutscene collection.

I'm baffled by how we've returned to these smaller screenshots again. The ones they released for KH2FM were what we should have been getting to begin with lol

No, that's exactly what's going to happen. Coded's cinematic counterpart is going to be done in a more seamless way including battle scenes and totally unseen scenes that tie into the rest of the series.
The fighting scenes is what makes me so excited for the game! ;)
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this! They all look so cool! I'm glad that there are going to be more fighting cutscenes.
The long text is something I didn't like about the games, but now that they have voices it makes it more enjoyable to watch.

Wow! okay i glad to hear that but then again I dont remember the storyline being so engaging in the first place.
But what if the coded movie unlocks things in the two others games? I'm definitely will watch it first because I played KHIIFM and BBSFM to death already.:biggrin:

Going to be interesting to see how they deal with 3 characters fighting an enemy at the same time. Will they be keeping the different gameplay styles with this battle?

The fact that these two things are advertised separately makes me fear that part of Re:coded will be like Days, where there will be a still image with text over it, but this time the text is voiced.
This game had the best interactions between Sora and Riku ;~;. I really hope David and Haley pull it off really well.

I'm really excited to see Sora, Cloud, and Hercules fight together. This is probably gonna be one of the most epic battle scenes.
It's not that Re:coded got lots of hate. It's that it was largely ignored by the general audience because it's one of the non-numbered Kingdom Hearts title (while all they want is the next numbered title, KH3), just like how Days and BbS had been.
I can't speak for the others, or probably even for myself since I haven't played the game, but seeing Re:coded LPs on YouTube, I do think that it has an interesting and potentially fun gameplay. Sad to say that for some reason, it's hard to find the game nowadays where I am. :(

Ahh I sort of remember that... Did it play while the game was loading? If so, this is a giant cinematic work rather than a game, so maybe it would be incorporated differently... like an optional journal... I hope so anyway :X

The new battle scenes surely is something to squeal about :) I was hoping they'd get rid of the whole 2-D pictures and went all out with 3-D models for every cutscenes but I guess it was too good to be true :( I'm sure that I'll be entertained by the cut scenes regardless but how long are the fight scenes supposed to be anyways?

We don't know, I don't see them dragging them out, since most of the fighting will be just keyblade swinging, but I'm not sure on them being too short, 3-5 minutes seems average of a fight.

A 3 to 5 minute fight!? Even still that fight would be super long it only needs to be about one minute since you're right it's just going to be a bunch of Keyblades swinging. I'd rather see a shorter fight scene that was more awesome than a longer drawn out fight because by the end I wouldn't care who wins the fight!

Well it depends on the fight, since the RE Coded cut scenes were once 30 minutes, adding all the text scenes now full scenes, battles could go up 10, but that's if they make them dynamic, with magic, dodging, all that stuff. Fight scenes aren't easy, some can get them right, some don't

That's why I'm wondering how they'll pull some of them off. The Sora, Hercules, Cloud vs. Hades and Sora vs. Roxas have potential to be amazing to watch. If they include Sora vs. Maleficent as well that would be great too. Now that I'm listing them what fights do you guys want to see as battle scenes?

I originally didn't like Coded, but I bought the DS version when it came out, anyway. After getting into it, I discovered that I really enjoyed the gameplay, and that the story was actually really great!
So I came to a point where I was constantly trying to get to the next plot point so I could see what happened next.
I didn't even know till my second playthrough that you could NOT find Cloud in Olympus Coliseum; that it was optional. I was kind've shocked ^_^'
The best part of coded was the throwback battling in the coliseum, I spent hours doing just that world. And does it seem odd to anyone else that they chose now to update the recoded page, I mean why not earlier?

Who knows, most of the time was on the fist two games, this finally getting some limelight.

Perhaps they're preparing new screenshots for all 3 games, and since Re:Coded is most likely the easiest to do this with, they just...Decided it was time to catch it up to draw attention away while they get more stuff ready? Hopefully?

Maybe the others will be updated soon, as well! this was just a couple days ago, after all. Hoping for more content, even if it IS just Re:Coded!

It's so they can try and keep "new" information coming every so often instead of long dry spells in between.

why is it that people dont like re:coded? i loved that game. it was one of my favorites. but nothing can beat 358/2 days. i got the ultimate feels when xion died. so upsetting i dont even want to talk about it.

yeah i agree there was nothing wrong with the story and gameplay. people are just stuborn. and my favorite battle was the last battle with roxas.
