A few days have passed since the Kingdom Hearts Premium Theater event took place at D23 Expo Japan 2015. We've seenn a brand new Attraction Flow in Kingdom Hearts 3, learned about the existece of a traitor in Back Cover, but we're eagerly awaiting more.

To make things a little easier while we continue to wait for the amazing footage from the Premium Theater to be released to the public, goldpanner and Zephyr have translated the entire event summary from Famitsu! Read all about the exciting new reveals in Kingdom Hearts 3 and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, as well as special messages from the voice actors!

●Disney Resort KH event once again exceptional

As we previously reported, on the 3rd Nov 2015, the Kingdom Hearts Premium Theatre event was held in the Cinema Ikspiari at Tokyo Disney Resort in Maihama in Chiba Prefecture in order to celebrate the opening of Disney fan event D23 Expo Japan 2015.

The event was packed with content, such as Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura introducing breaking information and images, composer Yoko Shimomura performing on the piano, and video messages that had been gathered from voice actors.

Here, we will report on the shape of Kingdom Hearts Premium Theatre. There are a few pictures… and a lot of text!

[▲Limited edition event items were sold at the Disney Store. Some items were already sold out before curtains up, it was a big success.]

For the opening, after a review of the series made up of promo videos for each title, the senior vice president and general manager of Walt Disney Company Asia and Disney Interactive Asia, Justin Scarpone, took the stage. Scarpone stated that the Kingdom Hearts series has shipped 21 million units worldwide, it is one of the most successful games in the long history of Disney. "Please enjoy this special experience for fans of Kingdom Hearts alone right until the end," he declared, and the event began.

[▲Senior vice president and general manager of Walt Disney Company Asia and Disney Interactive Asia, Justin Scarpone. "As a fan of Kingdom Hearts myself, I was really looking forward to todays event," he commented.]

Moving on, Kingdom Hearts series executive producer Shinji Hashimoto took the stage. Hashimoto spoke of his gratitude at being able to hold such an event that allowed him to come to direct contact with fans, and mentioned the smartphone app Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ[Key] that began service in September, and "please enjoy with my best regards!" was his firm appeal. "I believe today we will be able to show you new information, so please look forward to it," he said.

[▲Series executive producer Shinji Hashimoto. "I am at level 88 in Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ[Key]. I didn't get one of the (limited time) Roxas medals… My family did, though."]

■ Piano performance by Yoko Shimomura and Hiroyuki Nakayama

First on the programme for the actual event was a piano performance by Kingdom Hearts series composer Yoko Shimomura and pianist Hiroyuki Nakayama. They played three songs: Dearly Beloved, The Other Promise, and Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion. Shimomura and Nakayama played fresh arrangements as a two-piano duet. The event-goers listened quietly in rapt attention.

After the performance, Shimomura and Nakayama gave a talk. As they had met during auditions for the Kingdom Hearts piano arrangements album, they had known eachother for quite some time and the pair had the perfect atmosphere for a talk. However, at their first recording session, they performed from midnight til 4am - Shimomura apparently just wouldn't give the OK, leading to tears being shed in the bathroom (by Nakayama). However, Nakayama met Shimomura's demands with tenacity, and (Nakayama) looks back on it thinking that it's thanks to those hardships that today could happen. Music is a vital part of the Kingdom Hearts series. Please look out for Shimomura and Nakayama's activities from hereon out, too.

■Director Tetsuya Nomura also took the stage

After the piano performance came the reveal of the long-awaited new information. As the name of the event, 'Premium Theatre', implies, the information was revealed mainly through movies. Series director Tetsuya Nomura also took the stage, and he personally explained the content.

A new world will appear in PC Browser game Kingdom Hearts χ[Key] from the 5th Nov, and smartphone app Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ[Key] will see an 'Everybody Match with Mickey' event start from 6pm today (11/3). Also, log in on or after 4am tomorrow (11/4) and you will be gifted a King Mickey KHII Ver (★5) medal.

[▲"We weren't able to do a rehearsal so here's my off the cuff take," said Tetsuya Nomura, confirming the important points on palm cards. Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ[Key] King Mickey KHII Ver (★5) medal gift is available from 4am on the 4th Nov.]

■The Latest News for Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts III announced

It continues with the announcement of the latest promotional video for KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Meeting with Aqua in the Realm of Darkness (King Mickey), someone has the missing pages of the Foretellers’ Script and it is the traitor who has it (Mysterious Person) and a barrage of dialogue stirs up anticipation! In the promotional video, it showed a video message from Megumi Toyoguchi who does Aqua, Ryoutarou Okiayu for Terra, and Kouki Uchiyama for Ventus and Roxas. Below you can pick up their comments.

Aqua’s Role - Megumi Toyoguchi

The first scene that I’ve recorded as Aqua was: I believe it was the scene with Maleficent and it was my first experience having a conversation with a Disney character. For Disney characters, because you are playing a “larger” role, there is a sense of distance between them and the difference is size of your role. I remember struggling with that for the first time. While gradually doing it, you come to know how to create the character by knowing what express. It became very fun to do.

The most impressive dialogue is when Aqua says “We are connected” (Note: In the English version, Aqua says “There’s always a way) and it was done very well. There were many times where I had to record and I would be piled with dozens of takes (wry smile). I thought that because I was recording so much, it may have turned out informal but it turned out OK in the end and it was really good. I will always have those memories.

The Kingdom Hearts series are naturally fun games to play and I’m very glad to become a part of it. Before that, I was under the role of Paine from Final Fantasy X-2. Being a character from the Kingdom Hearts series was a different manner and I was happy about it. Actually, when I was playing, I didn’t finish Aqua’s storyline. It would result in sadness when I finish… I would have advanced to the final parts. But since there’s a sequel coming out, I’m getting a feeling that “I might defeat the final boss” now.

Within the three works, there is a new episode. Although I think you are looking forward to the new Kingdom Hearts, I might be looking forward to it more than anyone else (laughs). I think it would be good for me to try it from the beginning… by starting from the beginning, it would be nice to play along the timeline of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Though I haven’t recorded yet (KH0.2BBS), I really enjoyed being Aqua and everyone please look forward to it.

Terra’s Role - Ryoutarou Okiayu

The first time I’ve voice acted was for a promotional trailer that wasn’t part of the main recordings. “I’m no longer me?” and I also became worried (laughs). When I finally reached the recording production, I was always doing it alone…  As you know, Terra is out on a journey to search for Ven but I have not yet met Ven (his actor Uchiyama-kun). While I was working, I didn’t had a chance to meet him. So when we finally meet, “Oh so you’re Ven.” I linked it to Terra’s personality when I saw Uchiyama-kun (laughs).

The most impressive dialogue was when I was talking to Chikao Otsuka, “What did you do to him?”, it was a line that was also used in the trailer. In that scene, it was meant to be a premonition of what will really happen. In this title, it considers three characters for the storyline. While I was recording, I also had envisioned that the three of us were good friends who were spending time together. I feel like those moments will always last forever and I am under the illusion that the story is still continuing.

I think every Kingdom Hearts fan is waiting for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue next year. Since it seems to talk about what happens with the Birth by Sleep team, I want you to look forward to it. Terra, what happened to you? I really want Aqua to escape. What has become of Ven… I wonder where Uchiyama-kun went (laughs). With that said, please look forward to the next title.

Ventus & Roxas’s Role - Kouki Uchiyama

In regards to Roxas, you could say it was like life-sized… For the character Roxas, I was living in a world that didn’t feel realistic and felt the question and wonder of the real world. As for myself in junior high at the time, I somewhat thought of that and it was a similar experience that felt real. I thought about those experiences and placed those feelings into the dialogues. In that sense, I remembered it was easy to capture the mood.

In regards to Ven, it wasn’t myself, I had to force myself to be a bright and lively person. With that said, it’s not really myself. I’m normally more quiet. I feel that I was carrying out a form that was not myself.

This is long story but in one of the series’ titles as a voice actor, it didn’t felt like work. For how difficult it is, I went to the studio feeling like I was going to play, and I remember voicing for the script. During the time of Kingdom Hearts II, Roxas had his best friends Hayner, Pence, and Olette and (the voice actors) we were recording together. It felt like I was going to school and I had fun in the studio. With time passing, my role for the series have been different for different titles in a variety of manners. There were a lot of memories… in the life of one work. It seems the series is still continuing. Because I had a sense of fun being involved, I hope that I am not done yet.

For what’s coming next of the Kingdom Hearts series, I have not been informed of anything but I am also looking to the future the same way you guys are. Thank you in advance for the KH series!

■ A making-of Kingdom Hearts III video, too

The latest information for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue followed by Kingdom Hearts III. Here are the messages from the voice actors in the video.

Sora’s Actor - Miyu Irino

For the past decade or so, there are ways in which Sora and I have grown together, and places in which we have grown differently. I think perhaps those ways in which I have changed and not changed come together in how Sora as a character has changed in the past fifteen years.

I have been working on the Kingdom Hearts series with Mamoru Miyano, who plays Riku, and Risa Uchida, who plays Kairi, since we were in our teens, and I feel we have an incredibly strong bond. They really are like childhood friends to me.

Before I became involved in Kingdom Hearts, I had the general feel of Disney's Donald and Goofy, but now when I see Donald and Goofy at Disneyland in pictures, I get a different feeling than with other characters. They're my friends, or something.

I love the story of Roxas and how he exists, and the scene in the latter half of KHII when he melds with Sora had a deep impression on me. I feel an affinity with him, too.

One thing that was memorable was singing “Under the Sea” in the “Little Mermaid” world. Instead of singing karaoke, I’m glad I was able to sing this.

My memories of recording was linked to my memories in junior high school. I feel it’s a special work. In the future when go overseas, I can let you know I’m doing the voice for Kingdom Hearts, I strongly feel that I have a global presence.

With the current titles for Kingdom Hearts, there are many titles where I turn around to see a piece of the past. Please enjoy them by all means until the sequel.

Kairi’s Actor - Risa Uchida

For Kairi in the world of Kingdom Hearts, I have played the role being aware of her light. Capturing the mood for light has been different compared to before and now. Being in the light, she must be strong, and I believe she has matured. Kairi continued to stay in the light and she is a wonderful kid, and there were a lot of things that reminded me of Kairi.

Xion initially didn’t had a sense of self but gradually gained her own thoughts… it was very difficult to express those ranges because I am not a nobody and I am not being manipulated by someone. However for anxiety, I feel everyone has felt that once. I didn’t know what to think of Xion but I thought it was a good idea to snuggle in loneliness and anxiety… I thought it was very sad.

An important person in Sora’s romantic interest and friendship. While Kairi is the light for Sora, I think Sora must be the light for Kairi. I think Kairi thinks of Riku and Sora as different brothers, and in KHII, Kairi was able to fight with the Keyblade which I believed happened behind Riku. To each other they are important and I admired the three of them growing up together and being committed is especially wonderful.

For the audition, I’ve undergone many stages for the job, the voice’s job was not to sound unprofessional. I had a sense of insecurity for the challenges but I ended up loving the script for for the world of Kingdom Hearts. It was a feeling that I wanted to be able to go into this world and in a way, I’m gratefully happy I was needed to be in the world of Kingdom Hearts. Alongside Kairi, I believe I am also looking forward to growing and thank you in advance.

Riku’s Actor - Mamoru Miyano

In Kingdom Hearts, Riku had a long fight against the darkness. He had atoned against it and the courage to confront it. And once he had become accustomed to the light, I believe he had found salvation. Overcoming this experience allowed him to fight with a Keyblade was in fact a big change and there I wanted to play that consciousness.

Riku is a special existence to me because I was working with the Kingdom Hearts series for a long time and it’s become part of my voice acting life. He is growing and I also grow a bit as well. My change was something meaningful.

Riku is admired and dazzled that Sora doesn’t change much. It was very special because Kairi told Sora specifically this in order to connect with Sora.

When I received the day to work for Kingdom Hearts, it was the beginning of a fresh time as a voice actor, and with Miyu Irino-kun, it was a lot of fun performing in the studio, it became a learning experience, and it was an irreplaceable moment for me. I personally thought I was connected by strong ties to Irino-kun as Sora and Riku.

For me, Kingdom Hearts is important to everyone because we love it together. You have my sincerest thanks.

In the latest footage of Kingdom Hearts III special to the event, it showed a cutscene of chess and two people having a conversation. “Have you heard of the Keyblade War?” A full version of the conversation was shown. What do they know about each other, it is implied but not spoken, and in the conversation, it seemed like they are rivals… you can feel the relationship between these two. In the action scenes, there were new Heartless, a Nobody that had a sickle, Attraction Flow (special technique triggered under certain conditions), there was a scene of a shotlock type attack like from Birth by Sleep, the new battle scenes were packed.

In addition, Tetsuya Nomura re-emerged and shown a promotional video also special to the event, it was a video of the “making” of Kingdom Hearts. “We were working on the worlds you can go to however I can’t show you the world yet since it’s still in development. I can not show you a new world today but instead I will show something in the middle of production.” (Mr. Nomura)

The development of Kingdom Hearts was done nearly 90% by the Osaka studio and about 10% in Tokyo. It was unveiled in the footage of the Tokyo studio. In the promotional video, it shown the appearance of a nobody had had a sickle. “It’s a new nobody that was included in the promotional video of Kingdom Hearts III. I think fans may know what kind of nobody it is.” (Mr. Nomura) Is it related to Marluxia!?

In addition, Kingdom Hearts III will have a new location taking place in the heavenly map, Olympus, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep will have you controlling Aqua, effects are gorgeous, lighting processing is added, and introducing these have become a rich appearance.

“Please look forward to the Attraction Flow, weapon transformations, and better party member cooperation.” (Mr. Nomura)

■ King Mickey makes an appearance!

A number of latest news were revealed, the place was crowded, and there was also a special video! It featured scenes of King Mickey from the titles, and when the video finished, The King appeared on stage! There were big cheers from the audience for The King! Tetsuya Nomura, and Yoko Shimomura also joined with King Mickey. The three of them were interacting with audience and the situation became a buzz.

[▲His majesty aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh]

There was a great excitement when The King sent off. Shinji Hashimoto was on the stage thanking its fans for the 13 years since its series release. He greeted, “Thank you and we will do our best in the future.” It was soaked with the applause of the fans and the event concluded.

[▲After the end, fan comments were recorded (left), as well as cosplayers (right).]

Did the scene between LXR, SRK and TVA appear in the KH3 trailer or was it just a rumour?

that was very intriguing. i'm glad to know that the people involved in KH's creation are as big of fans as us. olympus was officially confirmed. i'm assuming the line about kingdom hearts' percentage of being done was just how much work which company completed on the game, right?

Many fans in attendance have references it on social media and blogs so it does exist, though I do suspect it might have just been a scene to commemorate the event as opposed to anything in-game.

Apparently they showed a 3D model of Daybreak Town during this Making of KH video? I wonder if this means that Daybreak Town will become a playable world in KH3, if they really are talking about it here...

Edit: Either it's for 2.8 or they were referring to new areas of Mount Olympus, probably.

I believe that Daybreak Town was meant for 2.8 and Aqua would explore it in the RoD

I could be wrong though.

It was really cool to get inside the voice actors heads and see what they think about the characters. I especially liked how Uchida tried to bring sadness and loneliness to Xion with her performance. All in all a really great read and it was worth waiting or this! :)

I'm glad to hear that they're working on party cooperation. I think working with the party members is one of my favourite aspects of KH, so having it improved/more defined in KH3 will be great.

Yep, I was surprised to see that too. Assuming it's accurate and isn't a mistranslation, then for those who are hoping Sora and Kairi won't get together, it sounds like they should probably brace themselves.

It's not really that surprising if you keep in mind that the voice actors of the characters are also allowed to have their own interpretations of the characters and their relationships, including the ones they themselves voice of course.
That does not really imply anything substantial to their actual future roles in the series itself, but what the voice actor him/herself (in this case Risa Uchida) sees and interprets into the characters.
Notice how she often says "I think" which pretty much gives away it's her own opinion on these topics, just like any Sora/Kairi and anti-Sora/Kairi-fans have their opinion on these matters.

I think Kairi thinks of Riku and Sora as different brothers, and in KHII, Kairi was able to fight with the Keyblade which I believed happened behind Riku.

What can be taken the most out of this, at least from what I observe, is that Sora/Kairi-shippers may possibly be able to count Kairi's japanese voice actress among their "ranks".

---

The voice actor interviews/messages are really some gems in general though, lol, I dig all those little facts we get from these, like Megumi Toyoguchi not wanting to play the final parts of Aqua's story in BBS herself because that would lead her to all the sad parts.

Ryoutarou Okiayu revealed that he recorded most of his lines alone, which is a stark contrast to Irino, Miyano and Uchida who did most of their work together (I wonder if Jason Dohring had to do that too, it would explain why some parts of the dialogue sound so incredibly flat in Terra's story) and not even meeting the voice actors of his two "closest friends"-characters until later.
So Okiayu's favorite/most impressive scene is where Terra asks Xehanort about what he did to Ven, huh? The one which initiated the final battle in Terra's scenario, I remember that one being one of those scenes where Terra's voice acting was best in both the Japanese and English versions of BBS.

And Koki Uchiyama is more the silent, shy type so he had to put more effort into voicing Ven, heh? So obviously voicing Roxas goes more into his "natural" persona.
It's however neat to see that he apparently doesn't consider voicing KH characters as actual work and has fun doing it.

Miyu Irino is just golden with his love for Roxas' story and having liked to record the singing for Atlantica in KH II (I know many fans may disagree with him in terms of that Atlantica though).
It's also awesome to see how he, Miyano and Uchida became real life friends over voicing the SRK trio, something that was certainly helped by them recording most of their lines together.

From what I understand, all the english voice actors and actresses record completely alone, with nothing but the Japanese dialogue to work off of. I mean translated and everything of course, but just they get to see the type of intonation those actors utilized in the scene. But other than that they never really see each other or get to work off each other.

That... explains a lot of the awkwardness present in the English voice direction. What exactly is the logic behind keeping them separated? Seems kind of counterproductive considering Kingdom Hearts' importance on bonds.

Not really. This is an issue that's not limited to KH either, and is rather common. They are given a specific schedule and they come in at the designated times. It's easier to coordinate with the actors even though it may not yield the best results.

Also if I remember correctly, Irino and Miyano's relationship with each other actually predates Kingdom Hearts since the two of them joined the same agency when they were very young.

Aww. This was so much fun to read! I can't wait until all the videos come out--so that I can finally see all this stuff myself, of course--but this is doing a good job of tiding me over until then;)

I really enjoy reading Mamoru Miyano's take on all of this. I always do, I think. It's just so very touching to see how voicing Riku has been so meaningful to him.

The part where he talks about how Riku is "dazzled" that Sora's able to hold onto his innocence and childlike wonder (or something like that) because Kairi asked him to was also nice to hear. IDK. I just feel like Miyano-san summed up the threes' relationship with each other very well there in that one sentence.

I'm also delighted to hear that Risa Uchida did, in fact, voice Xion to have some anxiety to her. I know for many years a lot of fans have loved Xion's character for tackling something that big. So now to hear that that actually was intentional, and even truly is a thing (at least in Uchida-san's portrayal of her) just makes it all the more powerful to me.

I was a little confused about Ryoutarou Okiayu saying that Terra's story was about finding Ven, though. Really, stuff about Terra and Ven doesn't come up until Terra "learns" about Vanitas' creation from Master Xehanort, or until he tries to protect Ven from Eraqus and stuff. I understand where Okiayu-san was coming from, I think, but it's just a little bit confusing, since Terra's mission originally was to defeat the Unversed and find Master Xehanort.

And OMG. Hearing that Miyu Irino now sees Donald and Goofy as his friends is just the cutest thing ever. I can't even-

Oh! And I'm so thrilled to hear that the Tokyo Team has helped with KHIII a little bit. Not that I doubt the Osaka Team in any way, shape, or form, but it's still better to have two pairs of eyes taking things in, rather than one. Hopefully this will lead to an amazing, well-balanced game, then:)

Bro.

There's an entire thread of about 1000 posts saying the exact same thing.

I'm not saying that it's wrong to be a bit let down (I think we all were) but we might as well move on now. It's already been said and heard many times.

I hate to make things worse buuuut...We fixed one of our translations of the Famitsu summary.

Nomura)

This pretty much states that it is an event-exclusive trailer, likely not releasing to the public.

Maybe this is a wrong assumption and we'll get something, but for the time being this is how we are going to understand this statement and operate on the belief that the trailer is not coming out unless otherwise stated.

On one hand, like I get it, we shouldn't have expected anything. I've been telling everyone as much and I believe it.

But, like, why on earth do they think it's okay to do exclusive trailers and stuff for this game? Are they honestly unaware of how many people anticipate it? I get wanting to do something special for the people who come to these events and stuff, but come ooooon.

BlizzCon was this weekend, and you just can't help but notice how it's the polar opposite. Like, Blizzard's big announcements and stuff is all made during the opening ceremony - free and available via live streaming to everyone to see. But, the matches and discussion panels and other fluff is the stuff you pay premium for.

Aw, but it just felt natural to think that the point of a trailer was to show something off, so you'd want people to see it. To sell a product, you gotta get it out there and keep people interested and in the know about important stuff, especially when it's been a while. Or, say, when it's a recently announced title coming out next year. It's understandable because I feel like most of us believed that to some extent before the event started.

Exclusive trailers in this day and age is absolutely idiotic when they are trying to sell this game to a broad audience. I'm sure there is plenty about this game that will make up for this trailer mess 100 times over, but we had Nomura saying this would be the next time we got information and it doesn't help anybody that we don't know what that information is outside of people remembering what happened.

It would take a massive campaign and several publications to get that noticed by Square Enix Japan, but they are probably somewhat aware of the situation by now. Though there's a difference between the poor community managers and the execs. [/FONT]

In their defense, I saw the Civil War "trailer" at CC, and the visuals were very unpolished. Spidey wasn't even present. It was a sneak preview at best, while this was supposed to be a more or less true-to-form trailer.

And besides, you'll be getting a real Civil War trailer December 18th, if not sooner. At least that date they will stick to. So, until then, you got Jessica Jones. Which...admit it, you are fawning over. :3

To be fair they really should have made it clear from the get go, and I can understand movie clips not being shown the public, but video games are not movies. I'm saying if people feel strongly about this let their voice be heard. I personally don't care.

You really have no idea the complications involved in releasing a trailer online, huh? The necessary logistics? The sheer manpower and workload.

There's this pretty button on Youtube that says "UPLOAD!!!" And I'm gonna take a guess here, a real shot in the dark, and say that you're supposed to press it?

I should probably email this to Square Enix. I don't want anyone getting too confused over there. :> Because, of course it'll be email.

(/-\*) I didn't mean that it would be hard to upload it. I'm saying I'm not sure it'll sway them, and it'll have to go through the community managers and people who run their social media before it would go anywhere else, and I feel pretty bad for them, but we've already established that KH doesn't have much communication with its audience. They posted their official statement on their twitter saying "We'll tell you when we have more to share," which feels like a response to the situation as a kind of "please stop we're not doing it." I'll be happy if I'm wrong, but still.

I'm... confused. Not really upset (maybe it just hasn't hit me yet), but confused. Other things had made it sound like we would be getting the trailer (like it being said we weren't getting the making of KHIII video sounded like we'd at least be getting the trailer), and I don't really get the marketing choice behind this? I mean, based on what we saw at E3 2015, things have to be done more than they were during the II.5 Launch Event, right?

Maybe... maybe they don't think there was enough new information to make it worth it to share? Maybe they only want to show big things, like world reveals? IDK.

Though if this means we might get less spoilers for the game this way, then maybe I'm okay with it. Perhaps Disney's making sure Square won't spoil this game, like some of their others, but that's probably wishful thinking on my part^_^

Suffice to say, this is really weird. LOL. And I thought Square recently said that they didn't know when the trailers were coming out, making it sound like at least they knew that it was happening, but not when?

Aw, but he's not trying to sell the product right now, is he? Plus, fans PAID for a CHANCE to even witness this trailer. Who the hell would waste money to go see a trailer that people would get for free a few hours after you saw it? Sure, there was other stuff at the event, but... no one's begging for clips of Yoko playing the songs or pictures of the King Mickey mascot. Everyone's begging for the trailer. The same way that Yoko's new arrangements aren't broadcast around the globe is the same reason the trailer isn't broadcast - it was exclusive to that event. You got information from the event. Be happy.

You really want to complain that "it's been a while" since new information came out? E3 was just a few months ago and the Big Hero 6 world reveal was quite recent as well, and so was 2.8's reveal. For a Kingdom Hearts fan, we've gotten plenty in this year. I'd rather wait and let them get some brand new stuff that I can see in a trailer a year from now, rather than see the same old stuff, which is essentially what the trailer shown at the event was since the only talking points were more of the Tangled world (without Rapunzel) and a group selfie of TAVSRKARX that was emotional. The group probably were all horribly rendered and far from their final versions, who why would Square even consider releasing a trailer that features so much unfinished stuff that would just get crapped on by ungrateful fans? The screenshot of Riku/Kairi/Mickey is already being dissected and criticized. No one should feel entitled to anything from D23 or any event, unless they specifically say that there's going to be information revealed there for the world to see.

Even KHI sent out a tweet "confirming" the trailer would be revealed the next day, so pardon me for being excited for something I thought was confirmed by Square Enix.

Then I'm not sure where we disagree here? KH3 was announced earlier than it should have been, and the news available suffers from that. The event was mentioned as a time to learn more KH news, so it should have been made clear that the trailer they made sure to mention before the event was something you might only get to see if you were lucky enough to get to go. Everyone was excited. I think they should be allowed to be a little sad from the inevitable disappoint from the thousands of people who were waiting for KH news that night because it wasn't clear that the trailer wouldn't really be released. I'm not advocating we grab pitchforks, I just think it's not necessarily a case of us being awful, entitled fans if we're a little disappointed here. I mean, if you had a low, specific bar set to be happy from the news, like I did, then it's not so bad, but there were so many people who had been anticipating it for months, and you could feel the energy that night. It feels like we're attacking people who aren't super happy here and labeling them bad fans, and that doesn't feel very fair.

simmer down you pissant. during the event you were the most entitled person in the thread, kicking and screaming about 'what we deserve' and how 'it's not fair' and now you're doing a complete 180 and acting like a salty little sailor towards mega.

If people want to see a trailer for the game they like, that's natural. If they think it's stupid that they're being exclusive with it, that's natural too. Nomura said that there'd be new information revealed at D23. Second hand trailer descriptions is shitty information no matter how you try to spin it.

This here..

EDIT:

Yeah, let's just stop with this bullshit. We're just bringing negativity to the forums again~

Yes, it is on topic but we all know what happens when a discussion starts about Sora and Kairi. Threads can be made on the comment and that'd be better for any serious discussion.

Well, yeah, but... there's no way it could just be that simple. It's implied that almost all of those hooded figures are there because of time travel shenanigans, hence why they just suddenly "ran out of time" and left before they finished the fight. Maybe one of those figures is Terranort, if Trollanort had pulled him out of BBS time to say hi in DDD. But I mean, where is present-day Terra NOW. Even the glossary from DDD stated that no one has any idea where his heart is at the moment.

What's kind of got me is how this whole reincarnation process is supposed to work for Xehanort. I have to wonder if he's actually going to return as his creepy old self... but then, that wouldn't make any sense. It might've been Xehanort's heart at the helm, but at the time when he became a Heartless, he was still in Terra's body. Therefore, he SHOULD return as the guy we call Apprenticenort. Heck, the whole reason he stole Terra's body was to extend his own life, so returning as a crotchety old man would be counter-intuitive and a big waste of scheming.

I get the feeling that the evil bald Spock the we see gloating at the end of DDD isn't what he's going to return as, not through the "destroy Heartless and Nobody" process, anyways. Til III confirms that I'm wrong, I'm going to stick with that.

Well actually, Nomura's said that not necessarily all of the members are time traveling. Thank goodness.

Well, when both Xemnas and Ansem were destroyed Yen Sid said both pieces returned to the whole. I took that to mean that once Xehanort was reduced to nothingness, what was restored was his original self. Afterall, his original body did crumble and fade away, once his heartless half was freed, it would make sense that his body would complete as well.

I get the feeling that the evil bald Spock the we see gloating at the end of DDD isn't what he's going to return as, not through the "destroy Heartless and Nobody" process, anyways. Til III confirms that I'm wrong, I'm going to stick with that.

That's the recompleted Xehanort, friend. Young Xehanort calls him the "most future version" meaning, the current one, the one that has been restored. Even Yen Sid called that he would return as his ancient self in Coded.

We do not even need KH III for that as it already has been confirmed that it is indeed the old Xehanort and that it is the recompleted person.
Xehanort in DDD even says that his twelve vessels are there to "celebrate" his return as a complete person.

Tinny

Yep, exactly, and the last nail to the coffin is (as usual with KH one might say) driven in by the KH Memorial Ultimania, which explicitly states it:

The old Xehanort we see in DDD sitting on the highest throne is indeed the recompleted and true version of Xehanort that got revived.
There is no "Apprentice" Xehanort anymore and while it is still highly implied that at least Terra's body and soul are still used as a vessel under Xehanort's control (which would be a sort of new Terra-Xehanort), there is no trace of what happened to Terra's heart.

Note that this post wasn't made by Okiayu so he's not referring to himself in the third person lol

At D23 Expo, the voice cast have also recorded a video message for Kingdom Hearts.

Something about Ryotaro’s comments made me laugh? (laughs)

Since the commercial of the PSP game, this has only been the second time they've all met.

From left, Aqua (Toyoguchi), Ven (Uchiyama), Terra (Ryotaro).

This shoot had them promising to have dinner together sometime.

Aww, the BBS Family. Would be cool if they had dinner and spent some time together. I remember reading that Uchida and Miyano meeting at one time and they both yelled: "Riku!" "Kairi!" when they saw each-other. That is so sweet. :) I hope the English voice actors might do something similar.

Holy heck that is true! o_o Awesome!

EDIT: Oh, it could also be added that Toyoguchi wears a blue hat/scarf which could be reference to Aqua`s blue hair. Uchiyama seems to have blonde hair, similar to Ventus, and he sits in similar white chair/couch where Ven sleeps in the Chamber of Wakening. Ryoatoro`s brown hair is little similar to Terra`s.

I think so, I remember you making it some months ago to finally shut up all the speculation about the Master Xehanort in DDD not being the "true" Xehanort. It seems though not enough people have seen it, lol.

Looking at it like that, I can even see them making some cheap drama out of it like i.e. Sora and the good guys not knowing yet how this will work for Roxas & co. and learning that defeating Xehanort for good will indeed result in the total and irrecoverable loss of Terra's original body and soul (maybe Terra's heart, wherever it was, will take residence either in the Lingering Will, which will then be an "armored heart" or in Riku just like Ven does in Sora), making everyone sad that Terra won't return fully at all if they are to defeat Xehanort for good, only to later get the pleasant surprise that the method that is used for Roxas and the other "heart-only" entities can also be used to restore Terra.
On top of that this way of restoring Terra will also ensure he is at the same physical age as he was before Xehanort possessed him so he doesn't stand out as the odd one in the BBS-Trio.

Finding these little parallels can be awfully satisfying. ^__^

o_0, that's also all true. I dunno if it is because he is sitting down, but from the angle of the picture it also looks like Uchiyama is the shortest of the three, just like the character he voices.

It is really satisfying. I love searching for stuff like this!
It might be because Uchiyama is sitting. Also since

Toyoguchi and

Ryoatoro seem taller than Uchiyama in that picture, it gives them this sort of big brother and big sister vibe, like they are there to protect their little brother. :D

I am hoping that if they had a similar picture for Sora`s, Riku`s and Kairi`s voice actors, they would release it too. It would be interesting to see if it would contain more parallels.

This is just stupid. There's no gain to withholding a trailer.

If they piss off some fans by not releasing the trailer but other fans pay to see it, then it's a net gain so long as the former fans don't drop the brand altogether. What matters in the end is whether you actually end up buying the game, not whether the marketing around the game is perceived negatively.

The fact is that most fans complaining about them withholding the trailer are still going to buy the game in the end. Or it's highly unlikely that something like this would be the "straw" that broke the fan's back.

There's an argument to be made about long-term relationships with Square and whether repeated acts like this would hurt customer loyalty but Kingdom Hearts 3 is something that will be sold on its name alone. I can't picture something like this negatively impacting their sales, so if anything they only have something to gain (a little extra cash from D23)--again, only limiting to the view of that one game.

For all the complaining, in a year or so when the marketing machine is in full swing for this game, most people won't really care or remember this incident. Stuff like this isn't going away even if the trend with a lot of companies is to be more open. There's merit to both methods.

KH3 will definitely be able to sell on name alone, but can the same be said for 2.8, which is coming out sooner? It doesn't have the nostalgia of the original games like 1.5 and 2.5 did, either.

Since it looks like we're not getting this trailer, is there a chance someone might be able to draw what they remember from the event? You know... like similarly to what happened after the II.5 Launch Event?

Once again, if no one from the event wants to do this, that's perfectly fine and understandable.

But IDK. I was just wondering if anyone's considered this at all. Is something like this even possible? Did anyone we really know from KH sites go to the event, and still remember enough about it to maybe do this now?

...

On a side note, that picture of the Wayfinder Trio's voice actors sitting together is probably the cutest thing ever, and I kind of want to try drawing that, myself. LOL. :D
