In the lead up to E3, Sony has just released a new batch of Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX- screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Along with them comes the following summary text for each entry in the HD collection itself:
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX never launched in North America, and it features the origin story of Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX includes completely remastered graphics, which makes the D-Links, Shotlocks, and the triple protagonist story lines of Terra, Ventus, and Aqua better than ever. If that wasn’t enough, this game is a seamless port of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep from the PSP to the PS3.
Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX brings back the trio of Sora, Donald, and Goofy to traverse once again through the worlds of Christmas Town (Nightmare Before Christmas) and Space Paranoids (Tron). The never-before released version for North America showcases one of the greatest battles to ever commence between Sora and Roxas. Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX brings all sorts of additional new content including new enemies, mini-games, items, and much more.
Last, but certainly not least, HD remastered cinematics of Kingdom Hearts Re:coded round out the compilation of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX. Not only was this game fully remastered into high quality graphics, but a number of the most memorable battles have also been recreated into full cutscenes.

Looking pretty gorgeous! Finally they're out with these new screenshots. I'll be waiting in patience for more and more of these, especially bigger ones and those depicting gameplay.

Ahh, look at that Roxas fight scene as well as the one depicting Terra's Ultima Cannon. So beautiful... I could stare at them for minutes.
I'm seriously dying to play KH2FM again right now just to "warm up", though I know I left my PS2 at my overseas residence. Should have brought it home...

I'm glad they replaced the old Keyblade models in BBS with more detailed ones, that change was really needed.

It seems to me that a little more effort was put into this than KH:1.5, but that's only my opinion. I'm so excited to get my copy of this! I think I'm going to pre-order this eventually.

It was actually one of the things I wanted most when they made the change in 2007. I'm so happy we get them now.

You know, I wonder how they'll do the battles from Re Coded, they can't rush it but they can't drag them out.

I can give you the Japanese gameplay shots if you really wanted xD
But they usually release the English gameplay screens like 2 months before release, and those ones look so glitchy.

I never noticed that the command menu design during the battle against Roxas is actually that simple. I had always thought and assumed that it conformed with the design used in TWTNW. I suppose it's because the fight "took place" atop the Awakening pillar, just like the very first map you can roam within in the game (which, if my memory doesn't fail me, uses a simple command menu design as well).

Now it's interesting to look at the old official PSP screenshots, which were obviously retouched to remove all the jagged edges and whatnot.
I went through the old BBS screenshots and found two of them which looked quite similar.
If you'd like to browse through all the images and whatnot for every KH game ever, I'd like to remind you that we've been storing them all for your viewing pleasure here.

BBS probably had the best promotion in the series ever.

The point was to show the improvement between the original and the remaster.
So, I'm guessing the size of the environments has stayed the same for BBS? They felt a bit small in the original so I was kind of hoping for that being edited. But I'll await gameplay videos.

Also, just look at the Station of Awakening's texture, I'll bet it's in glorious 2048x2048px like the ones in the KH 1.5 HD ReMIX, can't wait to rip them.:biggrin:

I hope that fight's not too hard, I've seen people go a bit overpowered in that fight, I'm playing fair.
They look so beautiful :biggrin: I especially like the one with the Trinity Armor, as you can see the upgrade Fresh Breeze has gone through. Even Earthshaker looks better, and I never really liked Earthshaker that much.

Yeah and once you see someone use limit form in that fight, it kinda loses the edge. Then the hacks for that fight, sure they're cool to look at, five years ago.
I do like how detail the BBS keyblades look, I will agree they were flat in the game, and I had to look at them every time to see how flat they are.

Yep! There are versions with the HUD on Japanese news sites like GameWatch.
I did link the gameplay screens (twice) but the links keep breaking (booo)

Just another week to go and we can finally know when we can play BBS in the glorious HD it deserves to be in. I'm so pumped. This will probably be the last PS3 game I'll ever buy.
I just fear these morons will release this game in holiday season to compete with the big releases. With PS3 only release being toxic at this point anyway I fully expect the sales to fall short compared to 1.5 in the west :(.
The only thing that gives me some hope is that last year 1.5 did pretty ok even with GTA V released like within a week (?) so there isn't too much overlap but PS3 was way healthier platform at that point. I just think if they don't have a PS4 release it will be a huge missed opporturnity especially if they could fit it on a date with no other releases.

There might be a PS4 port... but that would be a long time away, and a very low possibility at that.

There are FAR more people out there with PS3s than PS4s. Even though it's technically obsolete, it's still a much safer platform to release on.
Yeah the PS4 hasn't been out for even a year. PS3 releases will continue for a while and they will sell just fine. I actually have no clue what part of the year this is going to come out. I thought I had an idea but the fact that the Japanese version isn't even out tells me that we won't see it until around Christmas. But I don't know why they would want to compete with the other games in that timeframe.

Aside from the fact that I find it hard to believe that Square would put this one in November, everyone and their mother wants to play KH 2.5. I've lost count of how many times I have read "I'm gonna skip this [1.5] and wait for KH2/BBS instead". It's gonna sale much more than 1.5 no matter the timeframe. You have the biggest KH game (KH2) and one of the best (BBS) all in one package. In comparison, we got the "classic" (KH1) and the "meh" game (CoM) in the first collection. A lot of people have heard how great BBS was but haven't played it and.. well, Final Mix+.. that says it all :P
Which games are coming this holiday season? We sure have 1-2 Assassin's Creed games, Call of Duty... do we have anything else big that hasn't been postponed? Rumour has it that we will see a lot of remastered titles @ E3 this year and the next year will see an influx of new games. So this year is pretty much open.

The PS3 is a very healthy platform right now, and it's gonna become even healthier when Sony drops its price @ E3. There are a ton of games, the value proposition is great and a lot of people still don't have one.

I saw the rumors, and they mentioned that the new model would probably be disc-less, which is not a model I would want. You see, the PS3 is also my first Blu-Ray player. lol

Anyway, this is off-topic. I guess this would be a slight bit more on-topic?: This game helped my decision to buy the console, because getting to play KHII Final Mix certainly is an exciting prospect! KHII is my favorite KH game.
Dayum! And I thought BBS looked good BEFORE! At this point, all I want to see out of E3 is a price and a release date!
