KH Unchained X Quest Update: Let's Look for the Keyblade Wielders!

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X added 25 story quests on May 12. While the events that take place within these quests do not contain any major developments, they are exclusive to Unchained X.

Quest 501: Let's Look for the Keyblade Wielders 1
(You meet another wielder in the Moogle Shop.)
Wielder A: Huh, so you're a Keyblade Wielder too?
I haven't seen you around… Looks like you're not from my Union.
In other words, we must be mutual enemies.
Chirithy: W-wait! Mutual enemies?? You're all Keyblade Wielders because you banded together with the same goal.
Wielder A: Yeah, we do have the same goal of collecting Lux. But, competing for it is more interesting, right? It's simpler to think of each other as mutual enemies. Don't you think so, too?
(You stay silent.)
Wielder A: Pff, what a snore. This conversation sure isn't going anywhere.
(He runs off. Another wielder arrives in pursuit of him.)
Wielder B: Hey, wait! Don't go off on your own...
Ah! You're a Keyblade Wielder too, I see.
Wow, you look tense, huh? That guy didn't go and say something to you, did he? He's a dangerous kid. He seems to have gotten collecting Lux mixed up with a game.
I don't think he's really like that though.
It's like… he makes enemies out of the people around him on purpose so he can keep them away...
So, please don't think too badly of him.
Where on earth has he got to?
(You're confused by his attitude towards the other wielder.)
Wielder B: Yeah, I do wanna be friends with that guy.
Bye!
(Second wielder runs off.)
Chirithy: See? He said exactly what I've been saying, let it go, let it go.
Let's get you collecting Lux, like usual!
(You hesitate.)
Chirithy: Uh, are you still hung up on those two?
(Of course.)
Chirithy: Aw… I knew you'd say that. You're a hardcore meddler, after all.
Yeah, yeah. Let's go see how they are doing!
(You and Chirithy leave the Shop. Moogle watches you go.)
Moogle: I wish you people would stop bringing drama to my shop, kupo...
Quest 510: Let's Look for the Keyblade Wielders 10
(You find the stubborn wielder.)
Wielder A: You skulking around here too, then?
Chirithy: Player was worried about you, you know.
I think your friend was looking for you, too.
Wielder A: Friend? Oh, that guy...
He's not my friend, okay?
Anyway, don't get in my way.
I'm going to bring down the strong Heartless and gather even more Lux.
(He runs away just as his "friend" catches up.)
Wielder B: Oh no, did I seriously just miss him again?
Where did he say he was going?
Chirithy: He said he was off to bring down strong Heartless.
Wielder B: Strong Heartless…?
I wonder if he went to Beast's Castle.
Some people in our party were taking about a new type of Heartless they saw. Maybe that's what he went to defeat.
Thank you. I'll try going after him. Bye.
(The friendly wielder leaves.)
Chirithy: You don't have to tell me. You're going to Beast's Castle too, right?
Yeah. I won't say anything anymore. It's up to what your heart tells you to do.
(Let's follow those guys and head to Beast's Castle.)
Quest 511: Let's Look for the Keyblade Wielders at the Castle 1
(You meet the friendly wielder in the forest.)
Wielder B: Oh, so you're here, too.
Huh? You're worried about him too?
Okay then, let's split up and look for him.
I'll look around here, so might I ask you to do the castle?
(You agree to help search the castle.)
Wielder B: Thank you!
Quest 515: Let's Look for the Keyblade Wielders at the Castle 5
(You meet Belle in her room.)
Belle: Oh? What's wrong?
I see, so you're looking for a friend. But, I don't think they've come to the castle.
If they're in the forest, I'd be worried. There's been rumours of monsters nobody's ever seen before showing up.
(We're worried about those guys. Let's hurry back to the forest.)
Quest 520: Hurry back to the forest
(You find the stubborn wielder in the forest.)
Wielder A: Oh, it's you…
A Heartless got that guy, and he's hurt...
I'd gone charging in recklessly, and right when it was about to get me, he took the blow…
I managed to get him back to Daybreak Town.
Now I'm going to avenge him!
(He runs off.)
Chirithy: Hey, wait!
(Chirithy turns to you.)
Chirithy: Are you okay? You can't let anger take you.
Quest 525: Let's Defeat the Huge Heartless with the Keyblade Wielder
(You and the wielder chase the Large Snowman that hurt his friend.)
Wielder A: That's the Heartless!
(You defeat the Large Snowman)
Wielder A: Thank you. I wouldn't have been able to defeat that Heartless without your help.
If I'd been alone, I don't know if I...
(He turns away.)
Wielder A: ...I'm sorry. I want to be alone for a bit.
(He leaves.)
Chirithy: Let's keep quiet for now.
How about we go on back to Daybreak Town?
(You meet up with the other wielder in Daybreak Town.)
Wielder A: Hey, thanks for before.
I've… had this happen to me before. I didn't ever want anyone else to get hurt because of me again, so I tried not to let people get close to me.
But despite that, that guy decided he wanted to be my friend and wouldn't leave me alone...
To tell you the truth, I was happy. That's why I thought I needed to do my best not to get closer than I had to...
But, I was wrong.
There's a limit to what you can achieve alone. It's important to combine your strength with the people around you.
That's what the Foreteller meant by our friends being our power.
I'm gonna work hard alongside my friends from now on!
Bye! May we meet again somewhere!
(The wielder leaves.)

Interesting. Maybe wielder A could be an example of how others ended up transformed into Heartless... well, at least the start of it.

Ooh, that is right. So Wielder A who is pushing people away since he thinks he will hurt them if they get close is Beast. Wielder B who tries to get trough the walls Wielder A has build around himself is then Belle. Interesting.
I am really liking the dialogue in X! There have usually been moments in KH where there have been a some lines that have made me cringe a bit, but I haven`t felt like that in X yet.

Seriously though, they strike me as "generic" wielder models although that may not mean much since if I recall correctly at least Ephemera's clothes were also generic stuff.
Ephemera's clothes are completely original too. These new characters don't even have names, you can't get any more generic than that.

Just barely. Aside from his hairstyle and scarf, Ephemera's clothes are pretty much a palette swap of the "Cool Black" outfit.
These wielders were supposed to represent other players, so of course they're going to look kind of average.

Thanks for the translations goldpanner! Definitely really interesting to start seeing some new scenes in the game that weren't originally in Chi.
I'm simultaneously charmed by what the moogle said here (because it's funny and very much in-character) and angry about it, seeing as how the moogle wouldn't even have business were it not for us Keyblade wielders!

But in all seriousness, this is a very interesting set of quests and I wish the original Chi had something like this! It would've made the idea of a Keyblade War, and fighting people that we met like this, all the more heart breaking, imo.
Also, the differences between Chi and Unchained Key continue to astound me, and I probably should make a thread comparing the two at some point. Haha:D
Hmm, wielder A's last statement kinda reminds me of when I was a kid and there was this other kid that wanted to be friends with me. Never knew why, but I got him to give up. Thinking back, a lot of people wanted to be my friend, I eventually ignored them all and let them continue on their way so they'd forget about me. It's better that way. We all die eventually, and those whom will die sooner only leave others that were closely connected to them in despair.
Anyways, looking forward to when they make this story available to the US. :) I hope in the future Square Enix will use this opportunity of players being wielders, as a placeholder for future developments... perhaps VR with Kingdom Hearts for instance. That would be something to look forward to. After all, Bravely Second's ending showed that Square Enix is beginning to have an interest to get players completely involved in the game on a personal basis...

That seems like a sad way to live. Denying yourself companionship out of fear of things that haven't even happened yet... You can't know true sadness without knowing true happiness, and I'd rather know both than nothing at all. :I

Hmm, didn't think anyone would respond, lol. Nobody usually does. I just prefer people to be happy and not despair over my death. Besides, I still keep my online friends, so it's not like it's that bad. Regardless, I get a lot of anxiety being with people anyways... so it's a win-win.
Completed obsessed with this game from only 23 days of logging. Can't wait til we start becoming like JP.
