KINGDOM HEARTS Union X[Cross] Japan is celebrating its 3rd anniversary this month, and the staff have prepared 7 announcements celebrate the occasion.

  1. The Big Present Campaign returns this month! Players can pull from a daily free draw for a chance to get Moogle & Sora KHII Ver medals, which can be used to earn in-game jewels and act as vouchers in a lottery for luxurious prizes.
  2. Campaign Coins have been introduced this month. Players will receive coins for all of the jewels they've spent since they've started their adventure, which can be used to redeem powerful medals and other rewards in special boards.
  3. Sparkly, parade-like avatar outfits have arrived, as well as the 3rd anniversary raid boss.
  4. Sephiroth makes his debut in a new event scenario. Are you willing to face him in battle?
  5. Chatrooms will be introduced in the Version 3.0.0 update! Chat with others about your favorite subjects, and you can even use character dialogue and stamps.
  6. Players have received 13,000 jewels as a present for the 3rd anniversary.
  7. Classic Kingdom will be introduced in the Version 3.0.0 update, which will be added to the Japanese version following maintenance on September 6th from 11:00~17:30 JST.(There's currently no confirmed release date for Global version.) Check out 5 minigames that will be available to play in KINGDOM HEARTS III. Compete with your friends to get the high score. Achieve a specific score goal, and earn the Starlight Keyblade to wield in KINGDOM HEARTS III!

Series Director Tetsuya Nomura has also prepared a special message for fans, detailing what to expect from future updates. A full translation will be available later, but here are the important notes:

KINGDOM HEARTS Union χ [Cross] Thank you for our third anniversary.

It is Nomura for the first time in a while. Although it may not have been as long as it could have been. We're counting from "Union X"'s operation but, it has not been three years since "Union X" launched in its earliest form. If we think of it in terms of "X[chi]", it has been more than five years already, but I guess that doesn't count. That's why it's funny to think of the third anniversary, but this time it seems to be a different kind of celebration.

Although the development of "KINGDOM HEARTS III" is still taking a while, the mini game "CLASSIC KINGDOM" in "KINGDOM HEARTS III" is ready to be implemented with a "gameplay system that allows you to play" within "Union X." But saying "the gameplay system that allows you to play" is too long, so I've been calling it "X3". Even though it's short, I fear you might mispronounce it. I read "X-trace".
"X3" isn't just about "CLASSIC KINGDOM" but implements parts of Sora's mobile device from "KINGDOM HEARTS III" and it's where the new conversation tools will be located. For details about this, please also refer to announcement notices in the game.

I have kept you waiting so long, but the main scenario will be updated next month. Actually, the scenario part of Union X, aside from myself, was partially written by the staff of KINGDOM HEARTS III and I am sorry that couldn't update it quicker, but the wait is finally over.
I think that after this, the heart of the story will be evident.
The next time the main scenario will be updated, there will be new characters, and the connection between this character and that character will be revealed. I think it will be an interesting development. Until now, the matter of existing Disney Worlds needed to be dealt with first, but soon we will finally be visiting the new world. Along with that, we are preparing new mysteries and developments in the world of "Union X", so please continue to enjoy "KINGDOM HEARTS Union X[Cross]".

Thanks to everyone, we were able to reach "KH3" and the "3rd anniversary", so rather than apologizing, we'll distribute celebratory gems (jewels?).
Well then, see you soon.

Tetsuya Nomura

I feel strongly that this should be relegated to the KHUx subforum because it threatens to tear down the psychological barriers I've painstakingly constructed between that...thing...and the series in general. I mean first it's TWEWY and now this, where will it end.

Hey Sora's eyes are blue again.

Also

there will be new characters

Going by the text in the actual announcement, it should be χ3, not χ

3,

right?
Also, I took the spelling to be "ex tres," like the Spanish word 3. Open to being wrong, but that was my first thought.

At any rate, I'm pumped to finally have Classic Kingdom. And this time we don't have to wait for like three weeks while they dripfeed teasers.

Extress? Is it supposed to be pronounced 'tres' instead of 'tress'? I remember back earlier this year that Nomura mentioned some project and it was translated as "Extrace" with that exact spelling.

But anyway, that new Sora render looks great! And how exciting to get the chance to unlock Starlight in KH3! I still wonder if Shooting Star is canonically going to be some evolved form of Starlight, and this unlockable base Starlight is just a nice tie-in for KHUX players.

I'm very curious about the Keyblade Transformation that Starlight will bring! Will it be a reskinned transformation from another Keyblade or will they go out of their way to design a brand new exclusive transformation for it :O :D

Prooooooobably a reskinned transformation. Given that it's not (as far as we know) unlockable in any other way other than playing KHUX, they might not want to go to the effort of making an exclusive transformation that only some people will get to see. Then again, that might actually even be more incentive for them to go ahead and give it its own exclusive transformation, as that would be a nice reward for dedicated fans and KHUX players. Hmmmmm.

That's the thing, the Keyblade is nice but having an exclusive transformation and design is a bigger incentive to get people to download and play. Some people right now are like "play the game for a Keyblade? No thanks" but they may change their tunes if there's a special transformation.

Also Nomura saying that Sora's Mobile Portal device might have a chat function has my mind racing at being able to contact other characters during the game. It won't be a proper chat, but like Kairi may send some info while she's with Lea (is this how her letter is implemented into the game?)

Given KHUX is a free game, and the Classic Kingdom minigames will probably be playable at no cost (AP, maybe), I don't see any deterrent for anyone, other than the kneejerk aversion to playing those dirty mobile games

Starlight will definitely have unique transformations.

Definitely. Plus, Nomura has been saying for years that his team have been pushing themselves to the limit and going above and beyond to make KH3 something very special. So, I definitely wouldn't put it past them to give Starlight its own special transformation. And, assuming its basically a reskin of Kingdom Key, what if we get a new Form transformation? Maybe... Lux Form? That'd be neat :D

It is probably knee jerk reactions, but the Keyblade alone doesn't have some people excited and actually interested in downloading the game, even though it's free to play:

Lol wauw really? So we play a pay to win game for stuff in kh3?...yeaaaa no. I removed this game after one day of playing

Damn not gonna lie I’m more interested in the mini games than x itself but I don’t wanna do all the other stuff to get to it

Ok thanks. I don't think I've even gotten through the tutorial in Hux, it just didn't really interest me.

Urgh but I deleted the game months ago.....
Now i miss extras for KH3 ._.

Yeah no I’m not doing that for a keyblade

That's why it having a transformation may be a bit more enticing to some.

Edit: and here's an angry post about how it's wrong for a mobile game to hold a Keyblade hostage.

Lmao all you have to do is play some minigames and people are acting like its that big a deal? I bet you won't even have to do anything other than the tutorial to access the minigames either. Similar to how they implemented features so that you get the Pet companion super early in the game as a newcomer, I'm sure they'll make it so that a newcomer can almost immediately access these minigames if that's all they're interested in. And yet people are like IM NOT DOING THAT FOR A KEYBLADE NYEEEEEHHHHH.

Eh, it is what it is. Some people don't see the use in downloading it and playing for a Keyblade, some don't see why the Keyblade should only be accessible by playing a mobile game (they're ignoring the point and recent controversies to be at that stage lol), and some are trying to get their friends to download and play. This is all data I can pull from KHI's social media channels so I don't know the reactions that extend further away from that.

But it's also amazing how the general public reacts to news like this. Classic Kingdom was announced back in April and I think a lot of people may have forgotten about it so they're excited about this. I'm excited because I can now load up KH3 and immediately have Sora wield the Kingdom Key and the Starlight Keyblade, and be able to swap between the two in Olympus. That excites me.

You know, some of us sunk a hefty bit of time into KHUx before dropping the game or getting pushed out of it for any number of reasons, so calling the aversion to it "kneejerk" is kind of lousy. Enjoy the game if it's your thing by all means, but there's enough public testimony against it that you could at least more accurately qualify the anti-mobile faction as "spurned" or maybe "triggered."

Edit: and here's an angry post about how it's wrong for a mobile game to hold a Keyblade hostage.

While I'm not sure this is any worse than the fact that Nomura is still making vague promises about "a new world" getting implemented for the people who still care sometime in the "soon," it is still pretty sketchy if they fix a whole Keyblade with transformations and everything to this mobile title; a skin is one thing but come on, at least make it DLC so we can complain about having to pay for it like a normal fandom.

Finally, an update regarding the lore of KHux. Only took a year to announce.

Personally, I'm under the assumption that this "new" character is the somebody of Larxene. Every somebody of Organization XIII has met Ventus thus far outside of Demyx, Luxord and Larxene. With regards to the Keyblade transformation for Starlight, it's more than likely going to be Second Form in my opinion. I really don't see an exclusive transformation for Starlight.

Also, lol at Nomura realizing they haven't updated the main story like in ages.
I certainly hope the new content will be worthwhile although I admit that I am skeptical when I read about yet again "new characters" when they haven't done really anything with those already introduced.

Instead of bloating up the cast at every second turn they should rather make people actually care about the characters and give them some depth beyond two basic traits.

Nothing much can be said that wasn't said already, the main cause for concern are definitely these "new characters" and how they will be implemented.

I personally hope they'll be Brain's henchmen and that they are called Lungs, Stomach, Heart and the Kidney brothers.

That or Strelitzia's 13 siblings coming to mess Lauriam up.

KH is falling prey to the "lets add lots of new characters to keep things exciting" trap that franchises like Sonic have had big issues with. Inevitably, adding too many characters leads to them being abandoned and never mentioned again, so lets hope these upcoming new characters are either the somebodies of preexisting characters or the last truly new characters we see for quite some time.

I mean, maybe not? The letters between Noctis and Lunafreya grew from a childhood habit which is why they continued to use that form of communication (plus it was probably safer to have the dogs slip by unnoticed instead of messages and calls being intercepted).

Noctis had his three best friends by his side the entire time so he didn’t need to message them, and he got phone calls from other people as well. We have seen Sora call Ienzo over in Radiant Garden, so the device and message capabilities should extend past the notion that the message system is only to funnel a romantic relationship between two friends.

I don’t think we could message anyone at any given time and expect replies, just that during the game the characters may send Sora messages about their lives and how their missions are going, and this may tie into the “meanwhile” scenes as well though I’d rather hope those would remain directly integrated with the main story progression.

Man, I don't get some of the responses. What's the harm in featuring a new character? We don't even know the context of their role in the upcoming story update so it's not as though they're cannibalising the development of the Dandelion Fortellers.

Well, I don't think the Classic Kingdom minigames will have anything to do with your medal collection though. I think they'll just be a separate set of games you can play, and if you can score high enough on them, you'll get Starlight. It would be very odd if your medals somehow influenced the outcome of the KH3 minigames. People would likely be very mad if Square essentially made Starlight only accessible to whales.

Even if that ends up being the case, Square has to make it so that it's at least possible for all fans to acquire the reward without requiring them to spend money. The "Make Your Mark" event had those two other methods of entry which calculated log-in days and those free Moogle bonuses, which both counted as entries aside from the High Score Challenge ranking that way every person could be entered to win so long as they remembered to log in and play. Therefore, regardless of how its implemented, acquiring Starlight has to be accessible in a reasonable fashion for everybody.

I think they'll just be a separate set of games you can play, and if you can score high enough on them, you'll get Starlight. It would be very odd if your medals somehow influenced the outcome of the KH3 minigames. People would likely be very mad if Square essentially made Starlight only accessible to whales.

As would I... I hope that turns out to be the case. Would make little sense if it wasn't, it would go from a clever way to attract people to Ux to a hot mess.
I just have no way of knowing it until the minigames drop, and that makes me antsy.
I mean, I also still don't know if my name is going to be in KH III.

Man, I don't get some of the responses. What's the harm in featuring a new character? We don't even know the context of their role in the upcoming story update so it's not as though they're cannibalising the development of the Dandelion Fortellers.

The harm can come from having yet another character(s) introduced just to be abandoned with little to no development.
Therefore spawning countless "What if this new character is this other character?" "What if this character will actually be the MoM in disguise as a secret boss?" theories.
Theories you can't really accept or disprove, because you keep not knowing anything about that character. It would become yet another person you just aren't invested in but can't quite cross off your mind because the plot twist regarding them could happen at any moment.

And if they do develop this character, it might be to the Union Leaders' screentime's detriment, or it could quickly turn into a bad idea.
At some point there is definitely the issue of "too many characters", regardless of how well written they are.
Story seems to be struggling enough as it is, and I'm not just talking about the one year of silence. The original Foretellers weren't greatly explored either.

Or it could be both. Maybe it's an old character disguised as a new one, and at that point why not just retconning Union as something that happened during Days why don't we.

Of course it could be good, and perhaps it will. Things can always be theoretically good.
Just as they could also be theoretically bad, and in its run Union definitely showed causes for concern on this side.

They have to? Only 300-500 (can't remember) lucky or elite actually obtained the prize in your prior example. I'm talking about making the prize accessible to everyone, not the chance to get it.

On the new characters thing: All I want is to know more about Skuld, Ephemer, Brain (Blaine), younger Ven, that snake Lauriam, and Strelitzia who died too soon. I am tired of new characters not getting expanded on. Hell, I'd give for more info on Ava, Invi, Ira, Aced, Gula, and Luxu.

On the Starlight: I really hope it changes forms in KH3. The basic form of Starlight is okay, but not anything I'd be like "diddly yeah give me that in KH3 right now!"

I do hope they offer a way for fans to get it without having to play "X3" Classic Kingdom mini-games. Some of people really suck at old-school LED games, some don't want to play UX, and others refuse to support it. While I think people are blowing it out of proportion because it likely won't have anything to do with UX's regular operations and can probably be enjoyed though a simple press of another option when the app boots, I do think there is value in the blowback. Make it available for purchase as DLC for people who don't want UX or can't play it.

I've been wondering this too. My guess is that you will need to be connected to the internet and put in your character ID and it checks the data to see if you can get the keyblade. I'm also going to guess that it will only work once so people don't exploit it.

Also Nomura saying that Sora's Mobile Portal device might have a chat function has my mind racing at being able to contact other characters during the game. It won't be a proper chat, but like Kairi may send some info while she's with Lea (is this how her letter is implemented into the game?)

The real winner here is Sora's mom, who may finally figure out why her son never came to dinner.

I'm assuming that we'll have to send our KHUX information to Square through some kind of form, and then afterwards we'll be sent some kind of code that can be used on the different consoles' online stores to download it like DLC.

Won't Classic Kingdom be in KH3 as well? Couldn't it be that Starlight is just unlocked for doing that stuff in Classic Kingdom and not KHuX Classic Kingdom?
Or in other words, playing KHuX Classic gives access to Starlight earlier and not exclusively.

That is giving too much credit to SE’s ability for that kind of forethought. This is the company that tied costumes and weapons in other games to $200+ jackets, $20 socks, Cup Noodle ramen, a paid digital prologue before the era of digital gaming on a dying console, who never even released an outfit out of Japan was part of a campaign with 7-Eleven or Lawson’s or some store, and like all of the most outlandish distribution methods you could imagine.

I’m still mulling over whether I think all this makes WIR more or less likely for UX. On one hand, the Classic Kingdom games are being added near the same time as the new world. If the games are tied to the video game aspect of the WIR world, it makes sense why they would release them that way.

However, if they’re that closely tied, why not make the reward a Wreck-It Ralph Keyblade? Also, it would be perfect to reveal the summon from the UX world in the next trailer right before it is added to UX. I’ll say if there isn’t another summon that fills the criteria for the new UX world in the next KH3 trailer, then I’ll concede that Wreck-It Ralph will be the new world, considering it isn’t revealed prior.

My other musing is that Daybreak Town might be less likely to be a playable world in KH3 since Starlight would be the most obvious Keyblade to receive there if it were. But of course, there could be a different one that we get there.

It's easier to just reuse a Keyblade design that they made over 2 years ago for Back Cover than to go back and forth with Disney over a brand new Disney Keyblade. [strike]I wanted a Fix It Felix Hammer Keyblade though[/strike]

Yeah, it's a lot of back and forth with Disney and Pixar employees in the meetings deciding on the Keyblade designs, the toy and monster designs, etc.

[FONT='inherit'][I]Dandelion: You mentioned a little bit at D23 that you were really excited to design Sora's Keyblade for the world, and also to work on the new outfits for Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Can you talk a little bit about the design process for those?[/I][/FONT]

[FONT='inherit']Tasha: Yeah. Basically, Square Enix, they'll do the first pass of the stuff. Then, it's a back and forth conversation. Our, I guess you would say Toy Story franchise expert, is Bob Pauley, who is a concept artist here and also designs a lot of characters and has been here for a really long time. He was in on all those meetings when we were talking about the design of the world, the design of the Keyblade, the design of the toy versions of Sora, Donald, and Goofy.[/FONT]

[FONT='inherit'] There's just several rounds of back and forth of like, "Let's add seams to their joints to make them feel more toy-like," or, "Let's make the screws larger so that you can really like it's a toy." Because, we definitely wanted to make them feel different than ... Because, there are actual action figures of Sora, so we didn't want to make it just look like the actual action figure. We wanted to almost make it more retro, because Toy Story is all about retro toys and make it look ... We emphasized the blockiness of it, just so that ... I feel, as a player, that it's more fun to see a version of the characters that's different. You want to see what they look like in that world. It's like, "Oh, fun!"[/FONT]

This is one of those things about how the creators and producers of the Disney / Pixar films are still around so they have actual input in the game.

Yeah I get that. But it would probably be designed any way if Wreck It Ralph is the world since all other UX worlds have a featured Keyblade. transformations would be the only extra work, but I don’t think it would be too difficult to come up with a cool concept for a candy/racing/video game themed Keyblade.

I still think Fix-It Felix and Sugar Rush could be playable arcade games in KH3 where you can win a WIR Keyblade and forge the link with Ralph. If a feature like that is in place, it would make sense why they chose the Starlight for this.

I’m just glad we should be finding out the answer sooner rather than later. It’s really just a bummer to me that Global players probably won’t get the world until after KH3 unless they give us one big story update for all of Enchanted Dominion.

Right now Union χ[Cross] has only just begun, Nomura said that the meeting of the Union Leaders was just the intro.
Currently the story is set in a desolate post-apocalypse where 99% of everyone is dead and 0.99% of everyone else is locked away in a dream.
We have a total of six (6) living, named characters in this story. Ephemera, Skuld, Blaine, Lauriam, Ventus and Player.
It's 150% completely unsurprising that we would have more characters appear (like the Black Coat in the title art), otherwise how the hell is this plot moving forward?

The original Foretellers weren't greatly explored either.

They got a whole movie just to do exactly that.

A lot of assuming here. We actually don't know the real numbers of the living and the dead. Nor how far the apocalypse has spread, perhaps everything is fine aside from the graveyard.
Why we don't know? Because the story didn't progress.

By having the six characters interact and doing stuff?
You really don't need to add more people to progress the story. You can do that with two characters, sometimes even just one.
X's story was great and it featured mostly the player and another person.

I know. I was referring about that. Lo and behold, that also failed in that regard.
Also, it's not like that somehow makes it better, even if Back Cover was good. Don't say it like it's some kind of bonus, I shouldn't need a separate movie to learn about 5 characters who are supposed to be narrative pillars in a game. (especially when I still didn't, really. You could get Aced, Ava and Gula's basic traits from X's final updates)

I think the players friends are among the living, but any attempts at giving them characterisation and bringing them into the plot have fallen flat due to SENA creating distance between us by having them all called "Keyblade Wielder."

This whole last year in the life of Union X has been a waste and a mistake. Utter foolishness that should never have been accepted.

I'm not saying it wasn't a bad play but the fact is, the real story of Uχ is basically the equivalent of Destiny Islands at the moment. It's hard to talk about screentime or character utilization when nothing's happened. Just unnecessary cynicism.

For as much as I do enjoy χ[chi]'s story, the intrigue everyone felt was almost completely removed from Player and Ephemera. It was Ava and the mysteries surrounding the Master, the Book of Prophecies, the then-unnamed Sixth Apprentice, the connections to the future, and the looming shadow of the Keyblade War.
Player's fragment of the story is not what kept all of us paying attention.

While we do have Strelitzia's killer to worry about, where exactly do we go from here? Honestly it seems pretty naïve to expect this story to progress exclusively with the Union Leaders and Player. Even the conflict between the Foretellers required the existence of the Unions (though not specific individuals).

Pretty much.
As I've said elsewhere, Union had the chance to use at least a handful out of the gazilion Wielders to show some interesting scenario, but... eh. Took a Days celebration to make them cook something, and even then I think we can all agree it was sorta hit and miss.

The_Echo

No, it's calling them out for making a bad call, since after I finish Destiny Islands I immediately go to the rest of the game.
And even if I didn't, Destiny Islands gives me a fairly good idea of where Sora, Riku and Kairi stand as characters.
I assure you it's actually fairly easy to talk about lack of screentime and character utilization when the "prologue" was along these lines:

"Hey guys! I'm from another game! How did I end up here? Who knows! Buy KH III, maybe you'll find out!"
"And here I come as well! Who am I? Somebody you know, somebody new? Is my condescending attitude a sign of malice or just a red herring? Ohh, mystery!"
"And here I am as well! I'm also a character from another game! Did I or did I not kill the other character? Mystery, mystery!"

And then one year of silence.
None of this is self-explanatory or satisfying by itself, it's just piling questions over other questions and leave them at that.
Nomura calling it an intro does not make it better.

The_Echo
My apologies for not having access to a complete headcount of nameless NPCs who took part in a War which we've been told time and again will be/was the almost-end of the universe.

Buddy, you were the one who replied to me saying you didn't know what the kerfuffle was about, so don't act like this.
I didn't ask you for a headcount. I was merely stating that writing everybody minus the player and the leaders as dead and impossible to provide more narrative content is premature, for we don't know the current status.
I didn't even object that most died, but that, as Chaser provided to state, the armageddon or the coma aren't this much of a narrative hindrance, scenarios were written featuring other dreaming wielders.
So to sum up since this is kinda straying from the original point: it's not like we only have this six people forever and so it is necessary to introduce new characters.

I don't pretend that everything that's going to happen from now on is going to happen solely in the Realm of Light.

The_Echo

That's you. That's not everyone.
And considering how many people were heartbroken after the Player's last scene in X... Imma say it kept more people going that you're giving credit for.
The Master and the Book were almost never really discussed upon in X, and the stuff with Ava, Luxu, and looming War were also parts tied with the Player. Like, the entire sequence between the Player and Gula talking and Ava and Luxu was so good.
Also, the Darklings and the Nightmare Chirithy fight. The Player's story was great.
I'm not even talking about intrigue, but what makes a story good and worth watching.

The_Echo

"Hey Skuld, it seems one of the Wielders who should be dreaming is unaccounted for. Reports say she was last seen wandering into an abandoned storeroom, to never resurface."
"Are you saying she was struck down? But how?"
"Maybe one of our comrades isn't who they claim to be."

And yes, this is just rehearsing the traitor shtick all over again, but Ux dug that grave itself.

Other possible scenarios:
- Creating Dream Eaters! What is the actual process? What does it entails? What possible lore details could we gather from it?
- The unresolved Dark Chirithy matter
- Ven and Lauriam, why are they here.
- Hey, the War happened, the world is supposedly all in shambles now? What do we do about that? What happened to Kingdom Hearts, where are the rumored 20 X-Blade pieces?

Just to name a few possible starting points.
Dunno, seems naive to me expecting more characters because you can't possibly come up with more topics.
It's six characters, for crying out loud. Some of mankind's greatest literary pieces were written with a third of that. I can't possibly accept that they can't come up with story themes when even I can.

The_Echo
And for all we know, the character he's referring to is just the coat that we've known about for a year. I really don't see the reason or purpose to being so wound up about it.

Clearly. You apparently like unanswered questions and intrigue more than the answer itself, so I can only assume you've enjoyed all of X and sequel so far.
But, and I'm not the only one saying it, just intrigue and the appearance of characters isn't enough to keep most people going.

Even just the sentence "the character he's referring to is just the coat that we've known about for a year" sounds wrong. We've "known" a character from a year, but we don't even know a possible name and just the appearance (which is an undefined coat) which means we don't actually know it at all.
What other characters we don't really know? Pretty much all the new ones. They too, we've been seeing them for about a year.
Now more characters are going to come, so if, say, we get three new character, we'd actually have 8 new characters to explore. In a game that didn't really explore even some of the starting ones (Foretellers).

There. Now one last thing, because I feel this discussion is gone long enough: what me and others expressed was concern. We didn't say "oh gee, more characters, Union confirmed still bad", we were just worried.
Saying "I don't understand why people are worried" is like saying "I don't understand why people AREN'T worried."
Now, asking is fine and I answered, but this is turning into who liked what, so I'd say it might as well be done. Points were made and explained.

Honestly, I'll just enjoy being in the majority for once, doesn't happen all the time.

The_Echo
Agree to disagree. I loved Back Cover.

As did I. Doesn't change that it didn't really explore the Foretellers all that much.
The Aced stuff was decent, but as I said, X basically gave that already.
And it doesn't even explain why Aced and Ira are so adversarial towards each other when Back Cover ends with them trusting one another, so... yay! More unanswered questions.

Strelitzia was chosen to be a Union Leader so already this scenario can't happen. Also strange that the Union Leaders, a secret group of only five people and literally nobody else, have some kind of intelligence network.

- The unresolved Dark Chirithy matter

The Nightmare Chirithy came from Player's darkness. We've known this for quite a while.

- Ven and Lauriam, why are they here.

More accurately, why are they in the future, and this is something I'm positive will be endgame material. Not something to dive into right out the gate.

And it doesn't even explain why Aced and Ira are so adversarial towards each other when Back Cover ends with them trusting one another, so... yay! More unanswered questions.

Because when the War became unavoidable, Aced resolved to create the strongest Union so that he would win and lead the new world. He embraces his lust for power and becomes the closest thing KH might ever see to a warlord.
Ira sees the danger in Aced's ambition and focuses his efforts against him to ensure that there are no winners.
This is from the end of χ[chi] so we've known since long before Back Cover.

The real unanswered question is what happened between them after they flew off during the War.
Personally, I believe the Foretellers are all still alive but that's just me.
