What do you think about Namine / Riku shipping?

I dislike it because Riku never showed any interest in Namine. He certainly values her as a person and even tells her that she doesn’t smell like Kairi. That’s like already better than Sora who compared her to Kairi. Oh, let us not forget that whole thing about honoring Repliku. What a great basis for a relationship.

I sound salty (how can I not when this whole game is fueled by Nomura’s salt?), but I’m just concerned that this is a situation where they pair the spares.

That said, I’ll accept it if it happens. Like others said, there are worse ways to go about this.

Nobody has even suggested "forcing" a LGB relationship for Namine anyway. Some have referred to her strong connections with Repliku though, which would be het if that's less offensive to you.

The RiKai shipper in me will always be biased (his desire to save her in Kh1 was so endearing), but I know that ain't gonna be canon by a longshot.

Still, I agree that Riku Replica should have gotten a happy ending if they had to save literally everyone else. He and Nami would have been so sweet together.

I dunno. We already have Second Riku inside the Datascape, maybe for the sake of keeping things simple it's good a couple characters were shaved off the roster. But I do like the idea of Namine having adventures with Riku, this could be exciting fun. But I couldn't care less about them being a couple.

Yeah I completely agree, but we know change doesn't happen fast. Especially when CERTAIN...organizations are involved, certain advancements in human rights and scientific breakthroughs get held back hundreds if not thousands of years because people claim what is and isn't right. Everyone should be able to love whoever they want to love.

Yeah, you're right there as well! We should fight, but don't forget that what's wrong on one side is wrong on the other because equality has to be balanced. I strive for a world where we don't have to have these kinds of conversations because instead of "give us rights" or "make it equal" is just "hey, that's how it is."

Whoa there, board of justice, calm yourself down before you break a key! Alexis' phrasing made it sound exactly that when saying "forcing a het" so I merely retorted. Personally, she doesn't really connect with anyone on that level so maybe in a future game we'll see her make a few more connections that give her a decent partner (or partners, fingers crossed).

I really took it as Riku fulfilling Repliku's last wish specifically. Also, he knows Namine, so its also for him I'm sure lol. I really don't see the romance like whatsoever. I rewatched it a few times. They both look really pretty when framed in that scene, and they sorta linger on their hands for a second, is that why people think its romantic? But the next scene she is chilling with Xion so yeah.

I would be disappointed if it was romantic. I guess as others said, I would live, I do love them both. But meh, don't see the chemistry with real Riku and Namine at all.

If there is one lesson KH III taught me is that perhaps I just don't really like Naminé in a relationship, lol. I'm one of the people who always throught her "relationship" with Roxas in KH II was forced, unearned and more of a "Nobodies gotta stay with Nobodies and these are Sora and Kairi's Nobodies, soooo..."
So I guess I should be happy at the very least they abandoned that in KH III. Still, shipping her with Riku is only that much better. The problem is that while Riku is sometimes caring and even corteous towards Naminé, that's just the way he is imo. Also, Riku barely mentions Naminé again throughout the series, it's almost always Sora who brings her up and he responds.

So yeah, I'll have to read a lot of missing moments fanfics in which during Days Riku gets infatuated with her before I'll buy it. I'll stick to my guns and hope he was just being the platonic knight he is and honoring Repliku's scarifice while at the same time picking up an old friend. I don't need Riku to get a romantic partner.
Also all of you who accepted this better than accepting SoKai: consider yourselves slapped on the back of the head.

At this point, Riku has a more romantic connection with Ansem than Namine.

Riku and Namine would have had some interactions before and they have development independent of each other. If they move forward with making them a thing, the hope is that they don’t mess it up like they did SoKai.

You know a lot of the people who posted here would prefer Riku stays unpaired or forever standing by Sora’s side.

Not liking something and accepting it at the same time can be done, though.

There's also that when Sora talks with Nami's star he tells her that "someone else special that won't let her down" is also missing her. Combine this with the big emphasis put on them in the ending, I think we're meant to think Sora is referring to Riku in that bit. To me it's clear that they are kind of starting to set something up with the two of them, but I obviously don't think they currently ARE a thing or anything. I just feel like the devs are making a sign (with the star convo and the ending scene mirroring the Sora/Kairi ones) that this is where they are intending to go with it in the future.

As for whether or not they have chemistry or anything, that is really a matter of subjectivity.

The only person I could believe Sora's referring to is Roxas, because of the TT scene where Sora says he misses her. Only other options I could think of is Repliku (which would be a plot hole, because Sora doesn't know about him) or Kairi (which, wouldn't Namine know that already from being inside her?).

I love it! they've been my OTP since CoM.

I'm glad they are hinting them since it shows that Namine is no longer Kairi's shadow and is her own independent person.
but don't forget, Riku spent a whole year with Namine helping DiZ. whereas she spent five minutes with Roxas.

I would love to see what Nomura's plans for them are.
