Sword Skills:
Cyclone—(1-hit strike) A two-handed spinning scythe slash.
—Rapid Cyclone - (3+ hit strike) A charge skill building off the basic Cyclone skill where the user spins more than once while slashing. Higher levels allow more spins to be added to the attack as well as damage dealt. Also greatly decreases stamina for lower leveled players.
Vertical—(1-hit strike) A simple two-handed vertical scythe slash.
Passive Skills:
Sales Negotiation - The effectiveness with which a player can barter when selling items to NPCs.
Farming - The effectiveness with which a player can grow ingredients for use in other professions (i.e. cooking.) Higher levels have a better chance of successfully growing higher-ranked ingredients/crops.
Cooking - The effectiveness with which a player can combine ingredients to create varieties of food, some of which can have medicinal properties. Higher level of skill allows the cooking of higher ranked foods.
Acrobatics - Determines a player’s jumping height and the ability to perform aerial maneuvers. Bottom level is the natural jumping height for the player.
Real Life Appearance:
A bombshell. But not in the beautiful, majestic pinup model sense of the word. She really isn't anything worth giving attention. More like the shell of a detonated bomb, she is a wreck. A freckled oval face with a large round nose and thin lips make up her face. Set onto her bulbous schnoz is a pair of large black thick-rimmed glasses which make her face look even more ridiculous from how small they make her eyes look. Her skin isn’t perfect either— wracked with the occasional acne breakout leaves her olive skin splotched red. Her nest of black hair doesn’t add any to her appearance either. It’s wiry, curly, uncared for hair that she has absolutely no control over. Her best and most preferred hair style is a simple ponytail which just amounts to one big frizzy bunch of hair defying gravity and jutting every which way. It’s a mess.
She stands at 5’6” with a slight hunch which makes her appear shorter. There is very little muscle on her slightly chubby frame. Wearing oversized college hoodies, t-shirts, and baggy jeans, most people think she's “chubby.” She doesn’t mind.
In-Game Appearance:
Think of her real life appearance. Now put it through photoshop. That’s exactly what she did. A less chubby oval face with a slightly more defined jaw line and thinner neck. Her nose is thinner, her lips are more full, and she’s done away with the large glasses. Her olive skin isn’t covered in red marks and the freckles have been minimized to a minimum (with the occasional well placed freckle here and there.) Her hair is a smooth, healthy, and shiny black that she changes almost every day in game. It goes from being curled, to being put into pig tails, to simply being let loose to hang.
As for her body, she gave herself a more lean build. Nothing too drastic though. She’s given herself a thinner body, fuller chest, and she’s done away with her hunch. As for clothing, Kali dons short-alls and simple red and white sneakers. Under the overalls, she wears a three-quarter sleeve black and white raglan shirt. Every now and then, she will wear a large brimmed black sun hat. The only piece of jewelry Kali sports is a small silver necklace with a hummingbird pendant.
Personality:
Sam is weird. Or, to be more politically correct, she’s quirky. Much like her appearance, she tends to be a bit scatterbrained and unfocused. It’s the reason she’s barely passing any of her classes. This doesn’t mean she just blurts out whatever is on her mind. You’d actually think her normal if you saw her. Just an unkempt college student plagued by the trivialities of university and life. However, her mind is a whirlwind of thought and mumbo jumbo that only she can control.
Which she does whenever she logs in as Kali. Aincrad helps calm her wild mind and helps her focus her thoughts. This leads to Kali being played as a focus-driven character with the occasional quirk here and there. It’s why she chose to put so much attention into the less important passive skills of the game like farming and cooking. It helps bring some sense of order to her crazy mind. If only she’d transfer that over into her real life.
Biography: After Sam’s birth in London, her American father moved his family to the States on a business whim. They lived and she grew up in Rochester, New York. The city life was good for her. Instead of adopting her mothers British way of speaking, she spoke with a more American intonation. Her life up through high school was unremarkable and of no importance. To anyone. She got decent enough grades to get her into New York University in the big apple.
She was introduced to Aincrad and VRMMORPG by her first roommate in college, Elize. Elize also informed Sam of the events that occurred when she was only 9 years old which just flew over her head at the time. International disasters and nine year olds did not go hand in hand. Sam purchased her own Nerve Gear and would play with Elize. They played daily leveling their characters in the menial skills like farming and cooking never venturing farther than the 20th floor. And only reaching said floor by joining any clans that would allow them free passage through each level (meaning they would sit back while the other members defeated the dungeon boss.) Eventually, Elize left NYU and Sam was placed in a single person dorm. When the tournament was announced, Sam was a member of a random low level clan who peer pressured her into joining the contest. Since then, she’s started to level her fighting skills so as not to be completely useless in the tournament.
Other:
Sam owns a small one bedroom cabin on Aincrad’s 16th level, 10 minutes from the level warp gate. It came with a small plot of land where she farms and sells/trades her crops with different players and NPCs.
