612 without spaces
653 with spaces

take off the kirbies or a link or two and you should be fine. I think.

EDIT: Kirbies are 174 characters with spaces. Should be fine without them

Yeah if anyone else is having some trouble shortening their sig to under 500 characters, try clicking on the italicized "A" in the upper right hand corner of the sig window, after editing mine so many times there was a ton of junk left behind like font colors and what not.

another tip. if you are goign to have links or images in your sig. and the URL is really long. you can lasywas use a free service like TinyURL. This will shorten the url for your image file or link down to about 25 characters. simply paste the url that TinyURL gives you into your sig where the LONG url used to be. this should let you put in more content.

Okay, I'm trying to fix my sig, and I want to add a few more things to it, but it's supposedly too long, and I can't figure out why. I've checked the amount of characters, and I can only come up with 263 with spaces. Am I missing part of it, or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not saying we should let them get that long.

Most of it is for links to my stories. I'm planning on getting rid of one of my pics, but I can't without deleting all of my links.

As long as I don't have to keep scrolling down the page just to read the next post, then it's good.

A sig limit is fine by me, really. I don't even have anything much in my signature, save for links. And if it helps cut down those monstrously-sized and completely unnecessary signatures, good.

The problem is, half of the things that people put in their sigs are completely unnecessary.

So I really don't mind the new limit. It's given me an excuse to get rid of a few things.
