Kingdom Hearts III Pre-Release Spoiler Discussion Thread

Im pretty sure some people believed KH3's main story would be something like 80 hours long like Dragon Quest or Tales Of. Most KH games the story clocks out at 15-20 hours so KH3 is in fact double the length of previous KH games

Persona 5 definitely spoiled some people lmao. Do people realize just how big an 80 hour KH game would be? (Assuming we're talking about the critical path)

Length doesn't equal greatness. Naruto Shippuden ended on 400+ so episodes, is that show a masterpiece? No, but it's still a great anime with fillers and all. Conversely, look at Gurren Lagann. 27 episodes, and that anime is in the upper echelon. Point is, not every video game can be a Persona 5 (or any of the previous), and not every anime can be One Piece, with length AND quality. What's most important is how the story is told, and of course I'd love it if KH3 was a long game, but that comes with pacing issues and potential filler.

You don't need 80 hours to tell a great story, Nier Automata took me 30 hours, and look at how amazing the story it is. Again, would've liked it to be longer, but that would've come at a cost. Spider-Man took me 20-24 hours (with side quests), and it's an amazing game.

If the the story is stellar, the duration won't matter. What matters most is the experience, and people here are ruining it for themselves by whining before the game even comes out officially. But oh well! I'm more than content, so that's what matters to me in the end.

I don't know about that brother, KH3 has some stiff competition in just the first quarter of 2019 alone (REmake2, Sekiro, DMCV). KH is one of my favorite franchises, but so are Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.

I don’t know how to describe it but after reading these gameplay spoilers, I started to realize that KH3 is finally going to release. I am little worried to play that game without satisfying me. Or I am also a little bit sad because I have been talking for so long about KH3 to my friends and we all are waiting for so long. It’s just, one important chapter in my life is going to end. Can’t describe it.

Same! We've had all this time to decide what we want out of it and I'm really scared it won't live up to those expectations. And even if it does, I'm almost dreading it because I won't know what to do with myself afterwards. ;__;

I'm worried about this too... I'm sure they'll have some story sprinkled in, but the thought that everyone that needs to be saved won't return until during or even after the final battle(s) makes me sad.

resident evil 2 is just a remake (like the tales of Vesp HD port) so it wont get too many votes despite the fan base love (including myself though i wasn't a big fan of 6) the real comp will be DMC 5 i agree on that angle s its a massive return to form for the series and will get much love from old series lovers and newcomers alike, Other games that would be comp are cyberpunk 2077 and borderlands 3 (IF IT EVER COMES OUT ARRRRRRRRRGH)

Not to annoy you guys, I really am enjoying the little leaks but many reactions from you sound kinda "desperate", like you were expecting more but you don't want to admit it and you're trying too hard to find excuses and stuff...

Maybe that's just an impression, I feel like I'll have a lot of fun if the story will be as good as it should be, but I feel like someone is not happy and is trying to hide it.

Let's just be happy! The game comes out in one month and all this hype and the wait won't be a thing anymore and we'll miss it once it'll be gone! Let's cherish this moment!

honestly id just love to the characters fleshed out and given more life more personality maybe show more sora kairi crush moments and hell maybe show that riku like any normal teenage boy had crushes feelings and emotions beyond this darkness savior idea

Regardless, the reason Nomura keeps doing what he does to kingdom hearts is because people like you have totally accepted paying $40-$60 for what is essentially a button mash fest with about an hour of relevant cutscene material at the very end. Was ANY of Days or DDD relevant (or even fun) except the final 10-20%? Even BBS did this, but it at least had somewhat enjoyable combat until that point. Union X is LITERALLY a cashgrab mobile game that has used this model. Grinding for free such that you can get to the story is nearly impossible without paying.

Kingdom Hearts games have ceased having an actual plot. Instead, Nomura takes the same characters, and throws in some WACKY twist (retcon) about their backstory or current status, then basically dangles the answers in front of you in the form of future games. That way, he knows you'll buy whatever garbage SE puts out because you so desperately want to play to the end. Of course, he just does the same thing as before in that game, then the cycle repeats. This isn't storytelling, its narrative crack. There is no virtue is being complacent with this.

Then you might as well just not play the games dude, if you dont like it than just avoid it. Also I got up to date on Union X's story in like a single afternoon without paying a dime.
