Did'nt Nomura also say they were the opposite of human life?

Erase = Gone
Unbirth is given real meaning
Opposite of human life

It seems to me that they don't exist, they are the enemies of nothingness.

Darkness = heartless
Twilight = Nobodies
Nothingness = Unbirths
Light = ?

hrmm... this erase line is perplexing and has many possibilities. personally, i'd like to see a connection to those pods in KH2. if you can go in and erase your memories, which seems to be the purpose of those pods, why can you go in and erase yourself? but that might just be pure nonsense...

Not really. If MX was the original owner of castle oblivion, then that means he could have used the pods to erase people and make unbirths.

The pods were created by the Org.

Maybe but....i would have too say it involves the soul.

I would say heart, seeing as how there is a big heart on the Unbirth symbol...

yeah.... i cant remember that far back.
but this one little line is really very interesting. i mean, it could just be that they didn't want to say kill. but there are other possibilities there as well. too bad i dont have a PSP so i can buy the game when it comes out...

@OmniChaos: oh yeah. i forgot the pods were the ORg's creation.... guess it was pure nonsense then!

Well either way, the idea of Unbirths being made by erasing is starting to make sense.

i love your theory, but what i think is that Ventus is not getting ERASED he is just being put to SLEEP for whatever reason, maybe to cast away his pure heart. Remember with the Room of SLEEP comes the Room of AWAKENING. let me know what you all think

What if sleep can cause unbirths to be born again? Mabey unbirths were in the prisons in the room of sleep and they are being reborn? Mabey thats why they dissapear in BBS, they are born again by sleep? When they are reborn they awaken in the room of awakening.

Erased = unborn
Sleep = Reborn
Awaken = Awaken back into existence

Ven does kind of get frozen so yea maybe, as we all know what happens when the human body is exposed to extreme temperatures.

Well the opposite of human life would not be not existing.
That would be death. Humans live humans die.
Also alot of people believe without a soul your not truly alive.
The soul is what animates the body.

Finally Erase = Alot of things such as

1. to rub or scrape out, as letters or characters written, engraved, etc.; efface.
2. to eliminate completely: She couldn't erase the tragic scene from her memory.
3. to obliterate (material recorded on magnetic tape or a magnetic disk): She erased the message.
4. to obliterate recorded material from (a magnetic tape or disk): He accidentally erased the tape.
5. Computers. to remove (data) from computer storage.
6. Slang. to murder: The gang had to erase him before he informed on them.
7. to give way to effacement readily or easily.
8. to obliterate characters, letters, markings, etc., from something.

Emphasis on number six cause KHs tried really hard to use slang and failed epically.
So Erase could just mean kill -_- and the directors were just trying to use slang since ven is a teen in all.

I doubt it just means kill. If Ven meant killed, he would have said it.

Nothingness is a subalignment that falls under Twilight,
Just like Dusk and Dawn.

I doubt it just means kill. If Ven meant killed, he would have said it.

There's a deeper connotation behind the quote than something like "erase my memories"

well, i think that if i did mean kill.... oh, my thoughts are too fragmented to explain this.
now that the pod connection has been blown out of the water, i dont know what to think anymore!
but the erase line makes me think more of memories. so maybe Ven didn't want to die, just be forgotten? kind of like Sora was forgotten by everyone?

That's what I would like to know. I forget which interview it was.

Until you remember, it's irrelevant.

Not once was that ever said. Nothingness is it's own realm and such.

No, the world of nothingness is a product of nobodies.
Case in point; Xemnas.
TWTNW, the world of the nobodoes, in the TWILIGHT REalm.
