CLASSIC
The sounds of the bustling town surround you as you try your best to slide past the river of people. Off in the distance you can hear a hammer striking an anvil, as well as the accompanying grunts the apprentice makes as he swings the tool down, eager to finish his last job. There's a man dressed in a white apron that's been slightly spattered with blood standing behind the counter of a fish stall. You watch him for a second as he attempts to persuade a woman about the freshness of his fish while the neighboring meat seller does the same from his end, but you dismiss them both as you hurry on your way.
As you round your way to the center of town you notice a man wearing a beaked carnival mask standing atop crate. He's clutching various cards and is yelling happily at the crowd below. Though you attempt to avoid eye contact, something about this man draws your attention and for a brief moment, your eyes connect.
“You there!” He cries before hopping down his box, “You seem like a fine upstanding fellow who would appreciate this!” The masked man pushes a card onto you despite your protests of being in a hurry. The card reads of an artifact to be unveiled by the king and queen of Blueshire and it promises to be a discovery that could change the way everyone sees ancient civilization. “It's to be a glorious day indeed!” The masked man goes on, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. “They've just discovered something so amazing, they intend to show it to the whole world! Everyone from everywhere is invited, including the country of Fayfield, the elves of Tetus, even the dwarves are expected to appear! The best part is, Blueshire is holding a festival just before the unveiling! I just know you'll be there, right?” The man removes his arm and nudges you lightly instead. “You might just find that special someone, hmmm? Or maybe you're more of the rugged type who only wants to go to participate in the fighting tournament to be held? Whatever your reason, I guarantee you'll enjoy yourself, and...” the man leans closer towards you as he lowers his voice, “I have a feeling something exciting might just happen after the artifact is shown. But keep that under your hat, would you?” With a quick pat on the back, the man jumps back on his box and resumes shouting into the crowd while passing along his cards to whoever would accept them.

This land is very different than the one you're used to. There are three main continents and each one has its own military. Blueshire and Fayfield are connected by a large forest, with Fayfield to the north and Blueshire to the south. The two nations have lived relatively peacefully, with only a few skirmishes here and there. Aside from the military, they both have separate organizations that help keep the peace which include Blueshire's Sword Guild and Fayfield's Flying Lancers. There is also The Axe Brigade, which dots both nations, and the Magical Libraries, of which there is only one in each. The other nation is an ocean away and is generally closed off to outsiders. Tetus is the name of this land, and it is inhabited by the elves. The people of Blueshire and Fayfield do not know much about Tetus, but there are attempts at making peace between the races. Despite the lingering peace that has been enjoyed by many, a shadow has begun to loom over the world. When the shadow's true nature is revealed, you will have to choose a side that will determine your true allegiance.
This is a land of magic, though technology is also starting to evolve. Steam engines help the lives of those without access to magic, though the most you'll ever see of technology is the cogs of a wooden gate as it lowers the drawbridge to a castle. As mentioned before, there are a few organizations that specialize in different forms of combat. The Sword Guild and the Axe Brigade obviously focus on swords and axes respectively, but this doesn't mean every member of The Sword Guild fights with a sword. You can, for instance, have a bow user or mage in either one of them, but the organization is well known for having their members use that kind of weapon. The only exception to this is the Magical Library: their members are all exclusively wielders of magic. There is also The Band of Thieves and The Assassin Clan, which will be explained later in the post.
You can choose any of these to join should you so choose, or you can go solo and answer to no one. You can pick which nation you call home, your race, etc. You're your own boss with your own story to tell, so make it a classic one.
As the RP begins, the majority of the cast will be in Blueshire to view the unveiling of the discovered artifact. After that starting point, everyone is free to do what they want. In order to ensure everyone has a pleasant time, a festival will be held before the unveiling and will have a little bit of everything. As the story goes on, there will be important choices to be made. These choices will leave lasting impressions of your character, as well as their stance with the nations. But hey, don't worry about that. We've got a festival to hit!

Here is a small list of things you might just encounter on your travels. Keep in mind that I'm giving you creative freedom, so feel free to create anything you need for your story.
Spoiler Show
Kaytrap : Large quadrupedal reptiles that roam swamps and marshes. Their skin is very rough, even when wet and it drools constantly. This drool is actually a warning sign, as their saliva is coated with various germs and viruses. Their jaw strength isn't impressive, but if their bite manages to break the skin, prepare to fall unconscious. Keep a Cure-All potion handy for these beasts in order to combat the biting. Thankfully, they're fairly slow outside of water. Has terrible smelling breath.
Subwolfer : Much like regular wolves, these four legged animals travel in packs. While hunting, they emit a low frequency noise. Their appearance is largely similar to wolves, but they are smaller and vibrate constantly. When many of them get together, they can create destructive sound waves in order to protect themselves. Their howl is on such a strange frequency, only they can hear it. Has strange taste in music.
Slime : Weak semi transparent creatures composed of mostly water. Most are shapeless blobs that slither around sucking nutrients from the ground, but some have been seen in a somewhat humanoid shape that can mimic speech. At least one has been recorded growing to a gargantuan size due to extreme circumstances. Though they can normally be defeated by attacking any point, the inside of their gelatinous body houses a small frail core that serves as their nucleus and will kill the slime when destroyed. Is the least likely to receive hugs from others.
Fairy : Playful pixies that are often found in forests. They tend to hide themselves from others, but if they warm up to someone their childish nature shines. They are said to survive off of pollen and sugar found in plants and help pollinate fauna in order to ensure their food source is always available. Some have taken vows with humans and live among them, though these are even rarer than forest faeries. In those cases, they survive off of sugar and sweets. Is the most likely to steal treats.
Unicorn : Incredibly rare creatures whose horns are said to contain awesome healing abilities. They are said to only appear in front of a pure maiden, though this has been brought up to debate by many who have claimed to have come into contact with one, including men. They cannot be tamed and will flee if it is even suggested, and will never be seen by the person who brought it up. One of the more flightful creatures.
Pegasus : Unlike their horned brethren, pegasi are much more common and are far less picky about who they approach. That being said, they still prefer women, and have a very hard time trusting men. A large number of them have been bred by The Flying Lancers and are their trusted mounts. The most likely to hold a grudge and bite the hand that feeds.
Humans : You know what this is. Don't be silly.
Elves : Long eared and much more in tune with nature. They are generally untrusting of others, but this varies from person to person. Most live in Tetus or Eveholm, though few are found in Blueshire and Fayfield as well. They speak Elvish, which sounds suspiciously similar to this world's French.
Dwarves : They might be shorter than humans and elves, but they don't let that stop them. They're found all over the place, even in the land of Tetus, much to the elves' dismay. These guys usually live underground or inside mountains, and though some of them dislike the stereotype of 'the drunk dwarf,' others embrace it willingly. They're surprisingly good with tools and speak Dwarfish, which sounds suspiciously similar to this world's German.
Spoiler Show
Sword Guild : Located in Blueshire. As the name suggests, this guild focuses heavily on sword users. They act as a small pseudo military to Blueshire and are the first to respond in times of crisis. Though many bases dot the country, the main building is located in the town of Azure, which borders the Bluefield Forest. They work together with The Magical Libraries, Axe Brigades, and The Flying Lancers to keep peace between nations.
Axe Brigade : A secondary group of the Sword Guild that has also branched into Fayfield. They focus on heavy weapons such as axes and polearms. Though they first came about from the Sword Guild, they have recently walked out of the Guild's shadow and view them as friendly rivals.
Magical Library : One of these libraries is located in every country, and they are filled to the brim with knowledge. This is where most mages go to train, and is usually closed off to the general public unless special permission is given from both the residing king of the country and the Library's Elder. The Library houses many secrets, most of which will never be revealed.
The Flying Lancers : Fayfield's answer to Blueshire's Sword Guild. These knights rely more on long reaching weapons such as lances and spears and they often ride pegasi in order to command the skies. The majority of Lancers are female, and the few men that join their ranks have trouble fitting in. For this reason, they've earned the nickname of the “Deadly Angels.”
The Band of Thieves : A deceptively large group of thieves that encompass nearly every nation. They have eyes and ears everywhere, and can be organized in a moment's notice. Though they are wanted members of society, they also have a heart of gold and often help others in exchange for money and temporary escape from the law. Very few members of the Band ever get caught, and even fewer ever stay in custody for long.
The Wakizashi Gang : An organization even larger and more concealed than The Band of Thieves. They're also known as the Assassin Clan, and have gently influenced the course of history from the shadows. Their existence is such a secret, that many who know of them believe them to be nothing more than a fairy tale.
Bluefield Forest : A large forest that connects Blueshire and Fayfield. Aptly named not only for the location, but also because the trees are said to glow in a mystic blue light. Home of many creatures, as well as the lost village of the elves, Eveholm. A rumor states that if a group enters, they are doomed to die a mysterious death, however entering by one's self guarantees safety. Due to the rumor having been started at least a decade ago and no one going through the forest anymore due to the availability of magical and technological transportation, it's impossible to know if the rumor holds true, though a few people have entered and exited the forest in groups without incident.
Eveholm : The lost village of the elves. This village is cut off from the rest of the forest in a large circular barrier made of enchanted trees that take the shape of thick pillars. The elves here are dark elves, though seem to have forgotten about their magic. They speak Elvish and are wary of humans. The magical barrier only opens to those the village trusts, and usually seals itself shut after nightfall. The elves here are seen as a disgrace by the elves who live in Tetus, the nation of elves.

Spoiler Show
Name: Bryer Alma
Age: 26
Gender: Male
STORY: Known as Blueshire's Lionheart, Bryer was born and raised in the town of Azure. His mother was a well known and respected member of the Sword Guild, and he often finds himself lost in her shadow. Despite this, he doesn't hold a grudge and instead greatly appreciates everything his mother has taught him. This includes his sword work and the special technique she passed down to him. Because of his mother's position at the Guild, he had an easy way up the ranks and eventually landed himself as Captain of the Seventh Division, in which he oversees the training of new recruits as well as taking on missions from the Sword Guild.
Bryer took a short leave of absence from the Sword Guild following the death of Emily Pale, his lover at the time. They were following up an assignment went things went sour, and Pale was struck by a crossbow bolt and bled out. Bryer nearly fell into depression but pulled through thanks to his friend, Chive Cloc. Since then, Bryer's tried his best to put the situation behind him, but the past always finds a way to haunt one. Recently, Bryer has learned the Elvish language thanks to Samantha Fleur, an elf who lives in the forgotten village of elves located within the Bluefield forest. He's begun learning to use a bow and arrow as well, but it's slow going. A brilliant mage told him he has the potential to learn magic, but he lacks the patience to sit and read through the material needed to understand how to perform any magic. As a result, the arcane might will never be within his grasp.
Personality: Bryer is eager to prove himself as a fighter. Considering his mother holds such a strong reputation in the Sword Guild, Bryer feels it is a responsibility to match or even surpass his mother's sword work. Though he plays at being humble, he actually sees himself as being better than most people, and can get moody when someone with superior skill comes along, especially if the person is younger than him. Thankfully for him, his slight arrogance is well founded as he is an amazing fighter who pushes himself to go beyond the example his mother has set for him.
Race: Human
FIGHT: Bryer's main weapon is a double edged sword, and as mentioned he has begun learning to use a bow and arrow. He is surprisingly quick on his feet, and his attacks strike hit as hard as thunder. His usual fighting style involves him trying to overpower his foe with his raw speed, but if this fails he instead goes on the defensive. It's during this defensive style that he tries to think outside the box and trip his opponent up. An example of this would be pulling on a lance that missed him so that his attacker is closer to him, thus making it hard for them to properly use their weapon.
Skills:
Chain Lightning is the skill his mother has passed down to him and despite the name, it has nothing to do with magic. Instead, it extremely sharpens Bryer's senses and allows him to move at an incredible speed. He could run several yards in the literal blink of an eye which greatly extends his fighting ability. Unfortunately for Bryer, he has yet to fully master the skill, and has trouble activating it at all, as well as keeping himself sped up for long. This usually means he'll slow down at inopportune times, assuming he's able to speed up at all.
Infinity : A magic-based skill Bryer picked up from the elves of Eveholm. This allows the user to fire arrow after arrow without ever running out of ammunition, meaning as long as a single arrow sits in his quiver or person, he is free to fire away.
Kingdom: Blueshire
COMMAND: Bryer is the Sword Guild's Captain of the Seventh Division, a title he holds with pride even if others tend to underplay it.
Other: N/A
...but this one will.
Spoiler Show
Name: Bryer Alma Blueshire
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Appearance: Bryer has tanned skin thanks to his father while his dull grey eyes belonged to his mother. He has short black hair that now is simply parted down the middle. This change in hairstyle is fairly recent, as he is expect to look more royal than he used to in his days in the Sword Guild. Now days he also wears more regal clothing, mostly blue in color as is expected of the husband of the princess of Blueshire. This is a far cry from the usual scarlet armor he would dawn in the past.
STORY: Formally known as Blueshire's Lionheart, Bryer was born and raised in the town of Azure. He was the captain of the Sword Guild's Seventh Division before slowly climbing the ranks and though the bio given in the previous entry still holds true, there is now more to the story. Bryer had inadvertently drawn attention to princess Alexandria Blueshire and, under a series of misunderstandings, became her husband. It was too late when she learned of his romantic relationship with Samantha Fleur and could only offer a memory wipe to ease his pain.
Personality: Bryer's a mess. He longs for the days where he was free to roam the world while taking missions from the Sword Guild. His boredom is unsuppressed as the days go on while he attends meetings and --due to the oddity of his rise to prince-hood--teachings on proper mannerisms. There is an unreachable itch he feels in the back of his mind, as if someone from his past is trying to resurface in his memory, but is unable to break water. He is unable to see his best friend due to his known involvement in the Band of Thieves and is only able to break bread with other nobles, whom he feels no connection to. The only positive he can see his beloved bride, but it is obvious to him the life of luxury does not suit him.
Race: Human
FIGHT: Ever since Bryer left the Sword Guild, he is unable to draw a weapon. Not because he doesn't want to, but because the harsh rules imposed on him in the castle.
Kingdom: Blueshire
COMMAND: He is now (begrudgingly) known as a prince.
Other: Will not be seeing much use in this RP
