I'll admit, I haven't watched. I've let my twitter mutuals spoil me on everything I found relevant and checked as many screenshots and short videos as I could, and I can't put into words how hurt I am.

Allurance had no buildup. Well, no believable buildup at that. It's based on the concept of "keep trying to get the girl until she lets you out of the friendzone" and also a massive rebound for Lotura, WHICH WAS A GOOD SHIP BTW BECAUSE IT WASN'T ALL ABOUT THE DUDE GETTING HIS GIRL BUT ABOUT TWO EQUAL, STRONG, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE FALLING IN LOVE OVER THEIR SHARED INTERESTS.
Lance did not deserve to basically be "turned Altean", thus confirming that "just a boy from Cuba" Lance wasn't good enough to be with a girl like Allura. He also didn't deserve for "the things he loves" to turn from flying and fighting to forever mourning his girlfriend of like 3 hours and being a farmer.
DID THEY ACTUALLY MAKE THE ONLY HISPANIC CHARACTER A FARMER??????????????????????
Keith is the only one who told Lance he's good enough the way he is. Also that sunset-scene could've been straight out of a romantic fanfic. I don't care if I sound petulant, but the entirety of all the eight seasons makes me feel immensely baited for this ship.

Voltron is truly the epitome of every single of my own bottled-up insecurities sparkling into glints of hope whenever showmakers try to lure me in with their suspicious interviews and Vlogs.
I don't remember about how many things they lied or said stuff that had absolutely no conclusion or reason, but here are a few I recall:
- Lance will be someone's first choice.
- "Sudden Allurance would be a disservice to both of them."
- "Slowburn endgame" (this is not how a diddlying slowburn works, ffs)
- LaNcE wAsNt ReAdY tO aCcEpT tHe BoNdInG mOmEnT - America explain??? What were these words for
WHY WAS HE HOLDING THE LGBT SIGN WITH SHIRO why did the feud show Keith and Lance choose each other if Lance loves Allura so much that he can't speak a single sentence that doesn't revolve around her and is apparently unable to ever find love again after she dies????
Why did they call S8 a piece of art? Can't they spell shit or...?
Lauren be like: "We'll end this show in a way that no one can continue it." First of all: Wrong. You just don't know the power of actual good writers. Second of all: No one wants this shit. Not even you do, or else you wouldn't have immediately yeeted yourself away from it on instagram. Get real, woman.
JDS works on Riverdale I heard?? ik this is not a lie or bait but lmfao if that doesnt say everything I can't tell you what does LOL what a shitshow.

This last season was a punch in the face to everyone with basically any opinion whatsoever, if you ask me.

They hired a new writing staff between S6 and S7, and it really shows in S8.

If by peak emotion you mean it added nothing to the narrative because it wasn't in any logical way necessary, had her give Lance super weird altean marks after an even weirder kiss, and she didn't even get to say goodbye to Coran, then yes. Definitely.
So..no. It was terrible.

And I'm absolutely fine with that. Honestly, I did not expect to be so heavily invested in Voltron, I felt that all the important needs of the show were satisfied. The series exceeded my initial expectations.
