Why does it have to be a remake of the Disney film? Why can't it be another adaptation of the classic story "Beauty and the Beast"?

I'm not going to completely bash the idea right now, I think there could be some promise in this. But even still, there is always the chance that it could turn out horrible. But there's that chance for any movie.
I sort of heard about that too. How would a hand-drawn movie in 3D play out exactly?

The moving characters "pop out" from the background. Sort of like in those 3D master binocular-like toys. I don't know how to properly describe it, but I have seen it.

They are re-making a lot of movies these days. Must be running out of ideas. Anyways, I guess a live action flim would be okay if they kept to the original movie.
