Age: 18
Gender: Female
Personality: While she may be quiet, Leyla is in in no way shy. With a quiet confidence, she'll often report events as she sees them, though she isn't cruel about it. She loves the outdoors; nothing makes her happier than sitting under an old oak while she's writing her stories or playing one of her favorite song's on her old guitar. A good friend, she won't gossip about your secrets; you want them kept, she'll stay silent. She likes to daydream a lot. The only time she lets down the wall she unconsciously erected is during these dreams. Sometimes, it seems like there's a deep, heart felt sadness about her; though the moments it surfaces is so brief, you'll wonder if it ever happened; it's almost as if she's hiding a secret, as if she yearns for the days when life was simple. She seems to have grown a little colder in recent years, but it's just a facade. Though she can have a fiery temper, she'd never hurt anyone; her temper is often there and gone in a flash. All in all, she's a gentle girl, but don't try to push her around; she has a will of steel. She won't admit it, but Leyla's personality makes her a very good leader. Lately, she’s been haunted by a deep, soul wrenching fear, but only time will tell if the fear can be overcome.
Appearance: Leyla has a gentle beauty that isn‘t readily apparent. She stands at 5‘ 10‘’ and has a slim build that belies her strength. Her face is heart shaped and finely boned. She has vivid, ocean green eyes brightened by dark, sooty lashes and finely arched brows. Her ears are double pierced; she wears small gold hoops in the front holes and diamond studs in the back ones. She also wears a small, heart-shaped ear cuff further up her right ear. She used to have long, silver hair with red tips that stretched half-way down her back, but recent contact with the Darkness has caused her hair to turn snow white; she cut it so that it’s level with her eyes . She has pale skin, almost like she hasn‘t had quite enough sun. She wears long black gloves, black shorts and a black tank top. She has a charm bracelet that has almost a dozen musical instruments on it. She wears white socks that come half way up her thighs and black and white ankle boots. She wears a long, sleeveless coat that snaps at the neck and below her chest, then falls open after that. She nearly always wears a black ribbon in her hair and a small, crystal heart pendant. She is able to call large, white feathered wings with a special incantation; when she does, she automatically goes into her Keyblade Armour
'cept without the wings
Keyblade:
Empyreal Darkness: Dark Screen- Reduces damage taken from Dark based attacks. Also provides a slight boost to her own Dark magic
Light's Kingdom: Cure Boost- Strengthens defensive magic
Keyblade Glider:
The sail is collapsible, which proves handy when a really tight maneuver is needed. Weapon is a series of crescent shaped energy blasts
Keyblade Armor:
Armor Ability:
Angel of Twilight: When she has her wings and her armor at the same time, it doubles the strength of her defensive magic.
Magic: Twilight is Leyla’s elemental affinity. By changing the ratio of light to darkness, she can change and combo her magic attacks. Because twilight can be associated with the spirit realm, it gives her an increased spiritual awareness, but she doesn’t know what this could mean just yet. Her magic’s as follows:
Light’s Sorrow: Causes a cascade of light to rain down on foes. Extends outward in a circle for fifteen feet. Can be dodged during setup, but extremely difficult to block once it’s cast and you’re caught inside the affected area. More light than darkness
Kiss of the Dark Maiden: Veiled in a cloak of shadows, can move in close and deliver a concentrated pulse of dark energy to vital organs, SWAK. Powerful, effective assassination technique, but relies heavily on stealth; virtually useless if surprise is not on her side. More darkness than light
Bloody Howling: Uses blood infused magic to envelope hands in a storm of dark energy, then delivers a series of punches. The Darkness is moving so swiftly it sounds like a howling wind. Fast execution, can be extended to cover her legs. More Darkness than Light
Twilight Aria: Gathers energy to capture opponents in a pillar of twilight energy, will then fly in to chain together a twelve hit combo before releasing one final blast of energy from her palms. Even balance of light and darkness
Go Rinoa! 2:05 to 2:17 for the example
Spirit Guardian: Multi level spell that casts shell, protect, barrier, hast, regen and heals injuries. Powerful, but needs high energy to be most effective. Less effective further into a fight. Top duration is ten minutes; if she's exhausted, she's lucky to get thirty seconds. Average is five minutes. Uses twilight infused with spiritual energy
Leyla also uses a charm that allows her to change the charms on her bracelet into full sized instruments. She doesn’t use them in combat, it’s just an easy way for her to keep her music on hand.
Ability: Leyla is able to call large, white wings that she’s able to fly with; for this, she needs a special incantation: Bend the Light and twist the Shadows, that the Ether thins and the Spirit is lifted toward the Heavens. She is able to do this whenever she wishes, but if it’s too often it takes a severe toll on her energy; so she saves the wings for when she needs an extra edge in a fight, or for when she just can’t stay grounded any longer.
Biography: She hadn’t always been this cynical. Ask any that remained of her old friends, and they’d tell you Leyla had been a bright, cheerful girl with an intense competitive streak and a love of music and books. They’d tell you she was always ready for a race or a sword fight; they’d tell you she was one of the best with a blade on the islands.
All of that changed the night the islands were destroyed, her closest friends lost to her. She was set adrift, cast away to Traverse Town, were she was thrown into a battle against the hybrids. She would have lost her life that night, if not for the Keyblades that came to her in that fight. But the weapon and her life came at a high price; weeks spent in a feverish haze and the scars of the hybrids claws across her back. The whisper of a dark voice in the back of her mind.
There’s much Leyla doesn’t remember of those fevered weeks. But one hellish nightmare has stayed with her: An image of a women cloaked in shadow, dark hair dancing and eyes glowing like a fell flame. Torture at her hands; screaming for death to release her from the torture. Confusion and shame, the donning of the gloves that Leyla hardly ever takes off. Then, finally, mercy as the woman left Leyla to die. The sweet salvation of darkness as she passed out for what she thought was the last time.
A Traverse Town mage saved her and took her in. The woman taught her in the ways of magic. The raw pain of losing her home began to fade, but she refused to forget. She was determined to use her training to absolve the worlds of the Heartless once and for all.
She should have known she couldn’t.
The hybrids attacked Traverse Town in such force it was staggering. All were called to fight, but it was in vain. The town was destroyed, and few were able to escape. Leyla is among the fortunate. She was able to find her way to what appears to be one of the only worlds that hasn’t been overrun by the heartless. But how long will that blessing last? Is there any way to save the lost worlds?
Can she ever go home?
