I doubt they will actually meet, for exactly the reasons everyone's ideas contain: the fans would expect romance, maybe even something heavy. They could easily (and very probably might, unless they want to end the series now) leave Kairi as the lover forever waiting for her love, and Sora as the knight struggling to return home (odyssey, anyone?).

Sora comes to Destiny Islands and sees Kairi in uniform.

Sora: Kairi?
Kairi: Sora!

They huge (like a Squall and Rinoa hug).

Sora: I promised you I'd come back for you. I don't break promises.
Kairi: I knew you'd come back. I thought you would.
Riku: Sora! I came back, too.
Sora: Riku ...
Kairi: Riku?
Riku: I came back one last time to see you two. You may never see me again.
Sora: What do you mean?
Riku: Sora, you have to banish the darkness out of me. Banish it and I'll be normal again.
Kairi: This time, I'll fight.
Sora: No, Kairi!

Riku goes into Dark Mode and takes out Dark Blade. Sora takes out Keyblade and they clash ...

sora magically appears at Destiny Island as he notices that all the planets were gone...
so, as soon as he gets in the beach, he just lays in there...
Sora: I came back for you.... Finnally, I promised I would save you..

Kairi: WTf are you talking about?

Sora: YOu know, that promise I made 1 year ago, the one that meant that I would come back
and be with you forever, and never leave you side...

Sora: Hey, wait a second, What happened here, Why am I with these crapy shoes, and Why aren't you a hot Teenager?

Kairi: Ok, now you're scaring me... What the hell are you talking about. Yesterday you whent to sleep here at the beach and I just came to see if you were all right. Me and the others were gonna see Riku beat the living hell out of those anoying kids that keep on challenging him..... whant to come?

Sora ( thinking): so K H was all a dream, So then that means.... Oh, I fukt it...

Wakka: I suddenly feel that this script's comic relief factor demands me to tell them to get a room...

Tidus: *Watches in bemusement as Sora and Kairi run towards the shore, giggling like idiots* And I suddenly feel the urge to file a lawsuit. *sweatdrop*
