They are! I got them all. Some of them are super tricky so honestly just use a guide for them! Also try to take the time to roam the city and find some of those purple orbs since they are needed for upgrades.
Also be on the look out for a man and woman in random places. They seem to be part of a side quest or minor story. I've never managed to find them all.

Hold down O to increase your stasis field and its power. Useful for some of the side content.(Yeah, I know I'm bumping a lot of threads today)
Gravity Rush Remastered is out in the west now on PS4! Any tips for first-time players?
Which occurs well after that antagonist is revealed.I know the remaster has the DLC included. Be careful of playing it all right away, as there's one mission that apparently reveals the identity of an antagonist.
I never played the DLC though so I can't remember which.
I got the game. I have played around little over an hour in and I am really liking it. The controls feel and work really great, and controlling Kat and playing with gravity is really fun. The art style is also really unique and I am liking the music. I can`t wait to learn more about the world tomorrow and to continue Kat`s journey.
Spoiler ShowI loved the story mission where you first time venture down, to get the letter. When the normal music stops playing and it is replaced by wind as you falling deeper and deeper, that was brilliant. It was little scary how down you were able to progress, and even more scarier when you start to see what`s in the bottom. I am not sure if this is the best example, but that whole mission reminded me about one part in Silent Hill 2. I think it`s occurs when you are in a prison, and you have to jump into these pits to progress. You go really deep into the underground, and you even take an elevator ride down, and the ride lasts pretty long. It gave the scene a very scary and un-real feeling, you don`t want to do down anymore.
Spoiler ShowThat she is from the upper parts of the pillar. Maybe that place is some heavenly utopia, fulled with ancient advanced technology? Also, I got the feeling that the upper part of the tower symbolizes heaven or some other holy thing, the old place beneath the pillar with vines and red surroundings is hell, and Hekseville, the town between these two places is earth.
Also, how do you guys think Alias is? Kat seemed to recognize him, so it is probably someone she knows. For some weird reason I think it could be Syd.
Spoiler Show
I also got the feeling that people climbed higher and higher to the pillar to escape the darkness below. I really like that the game made you kinda make that connection, since it makes the world feel more real.
