~The Fate of A Kingdom~

There is Nothing either good or bad, but Thinking makes it so...
William Shakespeare

final-fantasy-versus-xiii-2.jpg

A Modern Isolated Kingdom protected by the Crystals’ songs of swords and sorcery, ruled by an ancient line of kings and queens, surrounded by endless stories of magic and mystery. An old enmity rises threatening to tear the very foundations of the kingdom and the long sought Peace. The struggle for the crystals is merely a prologue to the chronicles of a new era and the kingdom of Valentia is where it all begins…

Long ago, three royal families were bestowed upon with the power of the crystals. These three royal families of Valentia -The Caelums, the Fleurets and the Atrums- took pride in these great gifts and vowed to use them in their sacred duty to protect and serve the kingdom. Thus they devised complex and divine arts of fighting using the skills and powers the Crystals gave to them. Those sacred arts were of so much power and strength to the point of calling them Godly, against such power armies would break like waves and fall defeated. Yes, they were that powerful.

Passed down from father to son, from mother to daughter, the crystals’ powers survived and evolved by time and were considered to each family of the three a great matter of Secrecy and importance, confided and protected by the family members at all costs. Till this day, these ancient fighting styles remain in the eyes of people a great subject of mystery and doubt. However, Conflict occurred between The Caelums and the Fleurets and ended up with a long destructive and bloody war. The Atrums seeing the doom that would soon befall the kingdom, called up for Peace and their approach worked after a huge effort and countless negotiations. A treaty was signed and the conflict was settled and finally the kingdom was once again safe.

After signing the treaty a long period of peace has prevailed and the kingdom was at its yet best era, flourishing with wealth and prosperity. Nevertheless the cold tension between the Caelums and the Fleurets still existed, growing the enmity between both families more and more. The threat of another war would soon arise and those to carry the burden this time are the Heirs. There are those that see the war between the two royal families an opportunity to seize their own personal gains and ambitions and others who seek the Royal Families downfall out of envy. The families themselves are scheming to take back what's theirs, The fleurets thinking that the throne is supposed to be theirs and the Caelums thinking that the Fleurets are a threat that must be vanquished.

The new generation is torn apart between the different deeds and intentions.
Would they follow on their fathers' steps or should they seek their own answers?
Will you walk the Path of Wars or join the journey to seek Peace?
Would you find the Courage to change the Future of the Kingdom or shall you witness it's doom?
It's your Choice and only yours...
So choose wisely young venturer
Because in the end, It is Our Choices that truly make Who we are...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The familiar clack of boots on the marble floor echoed through the empty hallway of the Dawn Palace as she made her way to the throne room. It was very quiet now, everything was in place and everyone was ready and soon they will arrive. In a day like that, everything had to be perfect, no mistakes can be tolerated. It wasn't everyday that the Fleurets family would host the Treaty festival at their palace.
Security sure was tighter than ever with all those important figures and members of the society coming and of course the Caelums and the Atrums appearance would have to be the most important event. Uh I hope everything goes ok the Caelums and the Fleurets always drew the attention due to their old conflicts and whenever together in the same place problems are sure to arise. Even after signing the treaty, the problems never ended, they just got covered and hidden, they managed to hide it quiet well actually but for how long are they going to keep pretending? it's just a matter of time. It will be a big clowns show, all will have to act accordingly to keep the faked image of the happy bonding royal families and the so called Peace, What a joke.

Coming to a halt, She stood in front of the giant door of the throne room. Even after five years, nothing really had changed. He still wants her to be in the picture, As an ambassador of the kingdom and our family you must at least attend such an important event as the festival of the treaty He said in his last letter. She didn't want to come but somehow she found herself quitting from Captain Laios's crew and taking her leave to the palace. She knew that if she stepped back in the palace, he won't let her go again but she couldn't help it. Things didn't seem to be going well between the royal Families recently and another war would be the last thing they will ever need, and to be honest, She really missed her family.

Taking a deep breath, she pushed the doors open and entered. The huge room was almost empty except from King Lucis and the rest of her family; Her brothers Ryuu and Syra. They were all dressed in fancy royal clothings for the great event. She herself was dressed in a beautiful green gown that matched the color of her emerald eyes and contributed to her milky white skin. She had pulled her silky brown hair up into an elegant hair set that made her noble features stand out quite clearly. Her mother's jewel glittered remarkably on her neck and wrist completing the illusion. They were supposed to enter the ballroom once the guests arrive and until then they would have to wait for a while.

"looks like you are all ready" Lenis said as she stepped inside drawing a cheerful smile on her lips. "so, who have arrived so far?" she said trying to kill the time until the festival starts. The Party has just begun...

Walking towards the doors of the hall, Noctis was astounded at the guards following him."Why must they Follow me everywhere I go" he thought with a sigh. He knew this was for his own safety, but what was the point of Sending So many guards... They only brought attention to the fact that he was there, and attention was the last thing on his mind.
If the night went as planned, he would be one step closer to attaining the peace that he desired, yet he still remembered the words his Father spoke before departing the Palace.

"Son, this is something you must watch out for. This entire party is just a ruse to make the Citizens content with the ruling families. You must understnd that this will be a dangerous outing, and could lead to our downfall... Keep a close eye on everyone and everything"

"In the event of an attack, I will not hesitate to fight, but I believe they only have the best intentions" Thought Noctis as he reached the Doors. Pushing open the doors, he entered and motioned for the royal guard to stand outside and keep an eye on things. Walking forwards, he didnt see anyone, and wondered if he was early... " HELLOOO!!!" he called out, trying to find someone.....

Slowly tapping the end of his black marble staff as he walked, the cloaked person continued to take each step that belonged to the large staircase with calmness and precision, slowly but surely making their way to the top, which held the two grand doors into the magnificent Dawn Palace. Looking up slightly, the person underneath the cloak could already see a small group of guards, with a single man inbetween them all, already ahead and currently walking into the palace itself.

"Hmm, I guess that must be quite an important person, to have so many guards with him." though the person as they finally reached the top of the grand steps, facing now the two opened doors that the small group had passed through. Slowly moving closer towards it, the person could see the superb grandness of the interior, clearly well kept and restored over the years.

The person had actually become so enchanted by this, that they were almost not prepared by the sudden hands that shot out infront of them by the two stationed guards. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I must ask you to leave. The treaty festival is being held here, and without being a member of royalty or even with a personal invitation, we cannot let you in." the lead guard said, causing the person to slowly take a few steps back before their hand started to rummage from underneath the cloak.

This began to cause the guards to become suspicious as they placed their hands onto the top of their weapons, in the case of something was to happen. Their suspicions however, proved to be non justified as a hand suddenly found its way through the sleeve of the cloak, revealing an envelope with one of the families royal seals on it. "I do apologize. I should have already had it out for you to inspect..."said the male voice as it came from underneath the drooping hood, offering the main guard the envelope, to which he checked over in both outside and then finally inside.

Once everything had be examined, the guard handed the envelope back along with the invitation, and with a smile both men stood in position. "Thank you for coming on behave of the Sun Tower archeologist community Sir. Please, continue on to the main hall and enjoy yourself, the festival should begin shortly. Already one of the family members have arrived, please, enter!" the guard said as both of them moved aside, to allow the still cloaked man to walk past them and enter the main entrance way of the palace.

Judging by where the same guards that were following the man before were standing, the man reasoned that this was probably where the main hall or ballroom was located. Moving past the two rows of guards on either side of him, the man smiled and politely nodded with his hood, before entering the huge even more extravagant room, noticing the same man was already inside. Still hunched over and using his black staff as he walked, the man made his way to one of the many beautifully crafted armchairs taking a seat as he rested his hands against the black marble of his staff, awaiting for everything to begin.

Splish, splash, runs Blake through a puddle of water through the streets. "Damn i'm gonna be late." Speeding through crowds of people through the street Blake finally makes it to Dawn Palace. Blake walked past the guards nodding his head as he opened the large door. Hopefully the one i'm looking for is here Blake thought as he appeared infront of the door of the ballroom. Two guards confronted him. "Glad you could make it Mr. Cathey." They said as they opened the doors for Blake.

As Blake walked in he looked around for Lenis or the man with long silver hair and red eyes. As Blake is looking around he spots a kid with dark blueish, grayish hair. Noctis ehh, well I better hang back just incase something funny happens. I have to protect the princess at all cost. Blake thought as he leaned against a wall near a window so he could look outside. As he looks around again he spots a man with a hood on his head, Blake looks closer and sees a strand of silver hair.

"There he is." Blake whispered to himself as he made his way to the man in the hood. Blake came up beside the mysterious man and said, "Are you Sleif from the Mystic Tribe?"

The sound of classical music and an engine could be heard. The car drove smoothly on the road, not even noise from outside it could be heard. The man sat there with his eyes closed and fingers tapping. The window that sepereated the front of the car from the back rolled down.

"We're almost to Dawn Palace, sir." said the driver.

Vox opened his eyes. He grabbed a glass full of wine and took a sip of it. He nodded to the driver, who was looking at him in the rear view mirror. Vox pushed a button and his window went down.

He looked at the city as they drove through it. Other cars, people talking, children playing, the city seemed to be peaceful. His phone began to ring. He looked at it and ignored the call. Vox rolled up his window.

"Fools." he said.

Vox knew that everything in the city was fake, a cover-up for the truth. He took another sip of his wine as his phone began to ring. He looked at it to see who it was.

"Yes, Fracta what is it?"

"Hello sir. I was wondering if you needed anyone to cover the Dawn Palace event for you."

"That will not be necessary. I am on my way there as we speak."

"Ok sir. That's all I wanted."

"Fracta, tell Par and Certo that they can have the day off. I will be at Dawn Palace all day."

"Ok sir."

"And you can have the day off when you finish that paper work."

He hung up the phone. The car stopped.

"Mr. Vir we're here."

Vox got out of the car. He straightened up his jacket. Two guards came up to him.

"Mr. Vir we are here to escort you to the meeting room." said one of the guardsmen.

"Are any other Council of Elders members here?"

"I'm not sure sir."

Vox followed the guards into Dawn Palace.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Par walked quitely into the office. He silently walked over the Certo. Certo had his head down into a book. He was sleep. Par picked up another book from the floor and slammed it onto the desk. Certo quickly jumped up.

"What is your problem Par?!" said Certo.

Par was laughing.

"I couldnt resist." Par picked up the book Certo was laying on. "I came to tell you that boss told Fra that we could have the day off."

Certo got up from his chair.

"Did he really?"

"Yeah." Par flipped through the pages of the book. "You know Certo, this children's book on The Legend of the 7 Chrystals aint gonna help you on your work."

Par went through Certo's office picking up books and throwing them down.

"Neither will this one on Robotics, or Ways to End War, or War & Peace."

Certo grabbed all his books.

"These books will help me." They walked out of his office.

"Mr. Vir has been complaining about how all of his ideas are being shut down by the rest of the Council members."

"And what does that have to do with chrystals?"

Par waved the book in his face. Certo yanked it.

"Nothing. That's a book I read to my daughter."

They passed by Fracta's desk and waved to her. She waved back.

"I'll be there tonight guys." she said.

"We will too." they siad to her.

They walked into the elevator and got in. They got out on the bottom floor and began to walk towards their cars.

"You never said how those books relate to your job."

Certo opened the door to his car and got in.

"If I can come up with a good way to stabalize peace and present it to the Council then I could get a big promotion."

Par shook his head.

"Hey, at least you got an office. Me and Fra only got desk. You should present your idea to the boss before you go to the Council."

"That wont work. Mr. Vox and I have different oppinions on how to keep peace. He wouldnt even let me talk about it if it didnt have any violent way of doing it."

"Oh, well. I'll see you later tonight." Par walked off.

Certo closed the door and turned on the car. He backed up and drove into the city.

There he was in yet another important event. Ryuu stood in the middle of a long corridor, contemplating on whether or not to actually go to the throne room. He didn't feel like doing the treaty siging event again, just like his other siblings probably didn't want to either, but he was definently dressed for the occasion. Important royal clothes to be exact, but they weren't neccessarily th most comfortable thing in the world. It almost felt like a gown. He was wearing a royal crested jacket along with a fleuret prince crown, which he didn't really like at all, and then some silk shorts with the worst part of his attire, tights. He couldn't believe the maids forced them on him. But he shrugged and thought, "Well, I have to go, for my siblings anyway." So Ryuu strode down the hallway as gallantly as possbile, hoping to not run into anyone, today he wanted as much time to himself as possible, the other two kingdoms were coming for the signing, and he would be talking forever, to people he didn't know or want to know. He got to the large doors, and breathed a long sigh, then he opened them to reveal a enormous throne room, in which he went straight to the royal thrones to meet his 2 siblings.

"Edward, no."

"This is not a discussion, my lady. This is a large event, and the Fleurets will be present. I am bringing my sword, period. I apologize if the other families take it as an offense, but I don't believe they will- they know full well my position as guardian of the royal family. This would be the first event I have not brought my blade to, and I think that would inspire more suspicion than going unarmed so as to be polite." Edward adjusted his gloves, and smiled winningly. "I have no intention of angering or goading the other families, if that is what you're worried about, Princess."

The princess gave him a half-hearted smile.
"It didn't cross my mind, brother. You are, as ever, a perfect gentleman. It's just... well, they specifically requested that the royalty present bear no arms, formal or otherwise."

"Then I suppose it as just as well that I'm not royalty, isn't it?" sighed Edward grimly.

"Don't say that! You're as royal as any of us! Compared to brother Faelen, in fact, you're far more royal. You have the Caelum blood, and better manners than the rest of the family put together."

"I appreciate your kind words, m'lady, but it's not your eyes that will judge, am I right? It's up to whether or not the other families see me as royalty... and I believe it's rather well established that they do not. No, please, say no more," he added, seeing her open her mouth to object, "I see your point, dear sister. I will endeavor to be more tactful, but I cannot go without a weapon. It would betray my lord's trust, to put my own honor before the family's well being."

"There's no arguing with you when you get like this... very well. I won't demand you leave your sword in the car. Let us go, then." Edward opened his door, and helped his sister out of the car. The guards posted noticed them on their approach, and the caller to the rest of the party, assembled inside, and called: "Princess Lydia Theresa Caelum and Count Edward Illa Ferrum Caelum!"

The two stepped inside Dawn Palace gracefully, with Edward playing the role of the escort.

((OOC Note: The Princess is just a one shot character for the sake of playing foil. You don't really need to worry about her, she likely won't come up again.))

Relaxing in the armchair he had taken upon entering the room, the cloaked man slowly tilted his head and the hood from side to side taking in as much of the surrounding beauty as possible. He was so deep in examination and thought, that he didn't notice the sudden approach by not only a man, but the latest arrival to the room. "Are you Sleif from the Mystic Tribe?" the voice came from the man, causing the cloaked person to slowly tilt his head towards him, but just enough to show a few more of his stray silver hairs the moment light from the ballroom entered into the side of the hood.

Looking at the man beside him, Sleif, could see that this person was someone quite strong, yet also proud , judging by the way he stood. Also, slightly reckless, by his actions of suddenly coming up to a complete stranger and asking suck a question so blatantly. With a soft smile from under his cloak, Sleif gripped onto his black marble staff as he slowly stood up using the item in question as support. Standing at his full staggering height, Sleif looked down at Blake showing the man his red eyes through the hood of the cloak above him.

"As a matter of fact, I am! How may I help you this evening?" Sleif asked Blake smiling softly still as he held onto his staff in his right hand, gently leaning on it slightly as he continued to look at Blake. By the way people were starting to appear more and more, Sleif could tell that the festival should begin anytime.

Vox Vir walked down the long hallway with the two guards escorting him. He looked around the palace. It was beautiful, even for Vox. Vox didnt notice the beautiful things in life because most of what he thought was beautiful was either destroyed by the fights between the Royal Families or was violent.

They continued to walk. Vox was growing impatient.

"Are we not there yet?" he asked the guards.

"Almost sir."

They walked some more. Vox was getting tired of walking. They finally arrived at two big doors. Vox began to open it but one guard stopped him by grabbing his arm.

"Sorry sir, you cant enter just yet."

Vox looked at the guard's hand that was gripping his arm. He grabbed it and twisted it behind his back. The guard dropped his weapon and let out a painful sound. The other guard pointed his gun towards Vox.

"You dont have to shoot." Vox let go of his arm. "Just make sure you dont grab me again."

Vox sat down in a chair near the door. He gave a mean look to the guard that grabbed his arm. The guard turned away. Vox looked around. Many people were at the Dawn Palace. He looked around and saw two men talking. One had a cane and looked much older than Vox, who was 57. Looked down the hall and saw two more people walking in. By the way the crest on their clothes he could tell that they came from the Caelum family.

"Power-hungry fiends." he said to himself.

Certo pulled up to the school. He got out as a young girl ran towards him. She had light brown eyes just like Certo and long black hair like him too. Certo bent over and picked her up as she gave him a hug.

"How was your day at school, Aurora?" he asked.

"It was fun daddy." she said back.

He opened the back door of the car and put her in the seat. He fastened the seat belt then got into the front seat and drove off. Aurora opened the book that was on the seat next to her.

"Daddy, will you read me this book agian tonight?"

He looked in the rearview to see that it was the book on the 7 chrystals.

"Sure. I'll read it after dinner tonight."

His daughter flipped through the book. She couldnt read so she just looked at the pictures.

They drove throught the city. The road was busy. Certo figured that it must have been because of the Treaty Festival at the Dawn Palace. Thinking of the festival made Certo think of his work. He had to finish his idea and present it. If it was a good idea then he could get a big promotion, maybe even become a member of the Council. He pulled over and parked. His daughter's eyes grew big as she looked out of the car window. She cheered.

"Yay!!! The park."

Certo got out the car and got Aurora out. He held her hand as they walked into the park. This was the biggest park in Dra Nimanc Ledo. It was in the center of the city. He sat down on a bench.

"Ok, Aurora. Go play with the other children. I'll be right here working on some stuff."

She shook her head and ran into the playground with the other kids. Certo watched as she started to climb the stuff on the playground. He reached in his bag and took out his papers.

"Gosh, what am I going to do?"

He sat there and read his papers. What he had for his idea so far seemed good to him but he thought that it wouldnt hold up in the council.

He looked west to see the Palace of Dusk. It along with the Palace of dawn were two of the biggest buildings in the city. He looked east to see the Palace of Dawn.

"I wonder what's happening there."

The Festival begins

The Loud chatter and music could be heard as the Fleurets reached the doors of the glorious Ballroom of the Dawn palace. They were all there behind those doors waiting for their arrival. For her it was returning to a world she thought she had left behind for good but what does she know. Lenis didn't know most of the people inside, not even the members of the other royal Families except for the kings of course. It was her long absence that deprived her from such a simple information but she wasn't regretful anyways. It was her sudden return that triggered millions of question marks from the public and from the other royal families as well. She was a long forgotten member of the fluerets family and more of an enigmatic figure to the others. Why did she return now? Nobody knows.

"His majesty King Lucis Farmier Fleuret and their royal highnesses Princess Lenis , Prince Syra and Prince Ryuu Fleuret" announced the caller for perhaps the 100th time this evening as the huge doors opened wide streaming the Fleurets with light from the majestic chandelier of the ballroom. Silence fell as hundreds of eyes followed them as they entered, the envious ones, the cautious ones, the greedy ones but above all they were gleaming with curiosity more than anything else. It was quite the important event to see all of the royal families together in one place and more intriguing to be able to talk to them freely without scheduling a meeting, that if any one succeeded to do so.

As all acknowledged their presence the guests began to greet the king and the princes, taking a quite an interest in the Royal family's newly presented member and ambassador Lenis. King Lucis himself smiled with ovation as he shook the hands of his different guests and treated them with great courtesy and hospitality truly befitting a king. He even managed to deceive them by his friendly greeting to the Caelums, so as to keep the image of the family. Slowly the great interest for the royals began to fade as the music played again and the chatter spread through the many fancy dresses and black suits. Lenis tired from all those faked smiles and handshaking of so many strangers managed to sneak away for a while in one of the ballroom corners. Her wide emerald eyes scanning the place for perhaps a familiar face, somebody she actually knew.

"I wonder where is he?" she wondered as she took a sip of wine from her goblet. Blake had told her that he'd make it to the festival but till now she hasn't been able to spot him in these crowd of people. Perhaps I should look around more

An eternal dream
People were arriving now and Noctis was starting to grow uncomfortable. He noticed one of the Branch family members. As he looked at the young man he realised he recognised him, but hadn’t actually spoken to him face to face. Edward was his name.
He wasn’t aware of the young woman with him but he decided to forgo the idea of talking to them until he was forced to. He just didn’t feel like putting up with the pompous nature of the Caelum Family.

At that point he saw one of the guards being man-handled by a young man. As he started to walk towards the doors he saw the man let go and heard him mutter something to the guard and then went and sat down. Noctis looked away and studied a few of the guests. He noticed the old man with his cloak and the slight bit of silver hair that showed, and wondered if he really was as old as he seemed. He saw someone talking to the man and looked him over trying to learn where he stood within the politics of the royal family and why he was here. As he looked him over, he saw that he bore no distinctive features of the royal families, and decided that he was probably invited by someone in relation to royalty.

He thought to himself “This party might actually be worthwhile, as long as no one tries to begin an argument with the families”.

At that point, they entered… The Fleurets. He gazed at them as they walked towards the guests and were announced. When he had managed his strained greeting with the King, and dutifully noted the princes, and of course the returning princess, whos appearance even shocked him. As he shook hands with them, noting the ways their eyes met, and the way they carefully watched him, he saw the princess disappear towards the corner. He decided that he would try and talk with her, and find out her ideals on the subject of the peace party. Walking over to her, he held out his hand and said “ Hello, I’m Noctis Caelum. It’s truly a pleasure to make your acquaintance” and then waited for her response...

As the tall man stood up, and revealed his crimson red eyes he said. "As a matter of fact, I am! How may I help you this evening?"
Blake had a good feeling about this guy, even though he looked a little intimidating. "May I travel with you to your tribe, I need to talk to your leader?" Blake isn't very good at smiling or talking to people he has never met before. Blake tried to speak in his ear, but with Sleif's height Blake could not reach so he whispered. "It's about the Crystal of the Necromancer."
"His majesty King Lucis Farmier Fleuret and their royal highnesses Princess Lenis , Prince Sylar and Prince Ryuu Fleuret" announced the caller for perhaps the 100th time this evening as the huge doors opened wide streaming the Fleurets with light from the majestic chandelier of the ballroom. Blake watched as the Fleuret family greeted everyone. Wow Lenis looks so beautiful, Blake thought as he looked at the princess in the green dress. Blake saw her sneak out, and started waving to her, but Blake does not know if she saw.

Still looking down at Blake, who seemed to be trying his hardest to speak, without anyone else hearing, Sleif was able to hear what the man wanted to speak to him about, which came as a little surprise to him. "May I travel with you to your tribe, I need to talk to your leader?" said Blake, obviously not good with talking to people, especially those who gave off the sort of intimidating presence that came from Sleif.

"I'm not entirely sure if I would be the best choice of person to ask. It has actually been quite some time since I last visited my tribe." Sleif replied to Blake, turning his head away a little noticing the slight disturbance with the newest quest and one of the guards. Raising an eyebrow as Blake tried to make it so he could speak into his ear, Sleif became even more surprised upon hearing what Blake said next in a whisper. "It's about the Crystal of the Necromancer." Causing his eyes to slightly widen, Sleif nodded as he held onto his staff with his two hands once again.

"Very well then, I'll help you with visiting my tribe......" suddenly, before Sleif could say anything more, the two large doors that gave entrance to the ballroom opened up, allowing the royal family members to enter. "His majesty King Lucis Farmier Fleuret and their royal highnesses Princess Lenis , Prince Sylar and Prince Ryuu Fleuret" said the announcer as just like he said, the royalty slowly walked into the room causing many of the guests to move forward towards them.

"We should discuss more of this soon, I would like to know anything you would like to share, if you would kindly like to." Sleif said to Blake in a low voice, as the music combined with all the talking began to drown out their voices. Slowly turning away as Blake seemed to become busy with trying to get the princesses attention, Sleif began to move along the wall, tapping his black staff against the gleaming polished floor, though with all of the noise from everything in the room, it was completely silent as he walked. Moving out onto one of the opened glass door, Sleif came to a rest on a large balcony, overlooking the huge city and all of its many lights that illuminated it within the darkness.

"Be sure to act your best. You are representing your kingdom; the Caelums and the Fleurets are constantly at one another's throats, be sure to act as a peace mediator between the two."

Her mother's words buzzed in her head lazily, though the girl paid little mind to them at the moment her carriage was transporting her to Dra Nimanc Ledo, where the palace of the Caelums resided. Dressed in an elegant white dress, the princess' face pressed against the glass of the window as she gazed outside. It was not often that her family let the girl leave the palace, let alone travel. She couldn't help but stare at the many people who watched her go by; a few children even waved.

"Your Highness," the driver stated, bringing her attention back into the carriage. "We shall be arriving momentarily; I beg you not to press your cheeks against the glass...Her Majesty does despise it so when you do that."

"Forgive me..." she spoke, her voice soft yet held a sad note as she sighed, distancing herself from the window. "Driver, why did my mother not come instead?" She asked curiously, tilting her head as she watched him.

"Your mother believes that it is time you started negotiating with our fellow countries," He stated. "This would be the first time you have gone to meet any other royalty, and you are already seventeen; time flies, doesn't it?"

Caralydia sat back in her seat, letting her bangs cover her dark eyes as she listened to the noises from the streets. "Yes...It does." she agreed with a small sigh, playing with a gem sewn into her dress.

"We have arrived." he told her as the carriage halted.

She took a deep breath as he opened the dorr and she climbed out. The castle was so big! She kept her wonders to herself and followed the soldier who had been waiting.

-----------

"My, my..." Suri commented to herself as she strolled into the castle, catching a soldier watching her. "Please, do not fret; I am here as a guest." she assured him with a smile as she entered, taking note of all the guests. She had only decided to join the party because she had heard from a little bird that an old friend would be here as well. Taking a place near the entrance of the ballroom, she watched as the royal family of the Fleuret entered and decided to relax for now.

Vox walked into the ballroom. It was full of people. Some were regular people that just wanted to come, others were Caelums, and some were Fluerets. Vox recognized some of the royale family members. He WAS a Council member, their job was to talk to the Royal Families and see how the Treaty was working. Although he didnt like either family, it was his job, and he had to do or else lose his position in the Council. He decided to find someone to talk to but didnt really want to talk to anyone.

"This is a pain in the ass." He rubbed his grey hair.

He noticed that the guards were still following him. He turned towards them.

"I dont need guards anymore."

The guards looked at eachother. It was as if they were afraid to respond.

"But...um sir. We were told to guard you until you leave." said the guard Vox had attacked earlier.

"The Flueret family ordered us to take good care of all guest....especially the important ones."

Vox walked inbetween them.

"Take care of me by leaving me alone. I can have both of you fired and not able to get a job ever again. So I suggest that you do as I say."

He looked at the guards coldly. The guards back away.

"Y..ye..yes sir." said one.

They bowed to him and walked away.

Certo continued o his work while watching Aurora play on the playground. It was hot outside. All Certo had been doing was sitting down and he was about to sweat. He knew his daughter must have been hot too. He put his work in his suitcase. He went over to Aurora.

"You want some ice cream?"

"Yes, please."

He grabbed her hand and they began to walk through the park. They didnt walk far till they got to where the ice cream was. They waited in line for what seemed like forever. Everyone must have been as hot as Certo was because it seemed as if the whole city was waiting for ice cream. It finally got to their turn to order. Certo got strawberry and Aurora got chocolate.

They walked out of the park and headed for the car.

They was walking in the parking lot when Certo noticed something. Two men had been following them from the time they left the park to now. Certo could see the car up ahead. He didnt know what to do. Were they following them? or were they just going the same direction as them. Certo didnt know. There wasnt anyone nearby to witness anything. He didnt want to jump to conclusions and he didnt want to do anything that would endanger Aurora.

They made it to the car. He put Aurora in her seat. He looked back and could see the men still walking directly towards them. He turned back to Aurora.

"Ok, I want you to lock the door when daddy closes it and ONLY open it when I say so ok."

Aurora looked strangely at her father.

"Ok. Why daddy?"

"Just do it."

Certo closed the door. Aurora reached over and locked it just ask he had told. Certo touched the car and whispered. "Protect." He then walked towards the men.

"Hey, how are you two doing?"

The men kept walking. Their faces couldnt be seen because they wore hoods. Aurora watched from the car window. The men kept getting closer. Certo noticed that they had their hands in their pocket. They walked up to him.

"Give us your money." said the one man.

"What makes you think I have money."

"You're wearing a suit, drive a nice car, and you work at the Council building."

Certo was suprised.

"How'd you know where I work?"

"We've been following you since you left work." said the other man.

Certo didnt know that he was being followed that long.

"Your friend gave us money without any trouble. We hope you will do the same."

Certo figured that they were talking about Par. Since they followed him since they got off of work, they must have robbed Par in the parking garage.

"Your friend is ok....and you will be too if you cooperate."

Certo had no intentions to hand over his money. He looked back to see that Aurora was watching. If he went back to the car they would still follow him, so he had to make sure they didnt follow him anymore. The Protect spell will protect her. he thought.

"Hand it over."

One man grabbed his arm.

"Ok then...let's go."

Certo jumped up and did a spin kick in the air. He kicked the guy that had his amr in the face and he fell. Certo landed on his feet. He watched as the other thief pulled out a gun and aimed it for him.

"This couldv'e went easy." he siad as he pulled the trigger.

The bullet shot straight at Certo. As soon as the bullet got close to Certo a clear wall appeared and flashed as the bullet bounced off and fell to the ground. As quick as the wall appeared it disappeared. Certo smiled at the theif. The other thief got up from the ground and looked in amazement.

"He knows magic." he siad.

"That one's called the Protect spell."

“There really is no need for that. Kupo.” said Faren

A group of teenage humes had just threatened to beat the moogle senseless if he didn’t yield any alcohol to them. Faren loved to make money, but he knew very well he could get in trouble for giving the kids alcohol. The situation wasn’t looking good. Faren was on a nearly deserted side street trying to sell the alcohol to other people. At this point, he was all alone with a bunch of kids trying to steal from him.

“Hand over the booze and we’ll be on our way.” Said the tallest out of the bunch

“Stand back. Kupo.” Said Faren

Immediately after, Faren pulled the Mythril dagger out of his boot. He pointed it the nearest boy. Just after he did this, he gave the tall boy a mean look, although it would probably go unnoticed because of how short Faren was. Faren started flapping his wings, slow at first, but then fast. He ended up elevating six feet in the air before flying over the boys.

Faren then ran with the things in his pack making loud noises as he did so. However, his small legs could only keep him so far ahead of the humes for so long. To counter this, Farn escaped into the square. There were tons and tons of people, most of them watching the palace. It would seem something important was going on. Faren ran the opposite direction the crowd was facing. He eventually ended up in the bazaar, where he was supposed to be.

The tiny moogle set up a booth and placed all his merchandise where he needed it. He quickly began selling his stuff for more than what it was actually worth. At the rate he was going, Faren was going to piss the entire city off.

“Best prices! Right here! Kupo.” Yelled Faren

A Destined meeting ....

Lenis wasn't paying full attention to the people around her as her green orbs darted around the ballroom looking for Blake, it was really hard to spot him in these crowds. Where could he be? her search, however, was interrupted as a friendly hand held out in front of her.

"Hello, I’m Noctis Caelum. It’s truly a pleasure to make your acquaintance"

It was now that she looked at him, she realized that he was one among the many people she had shaken hands with this evening yet didn't have the chance to have an actual conversation with. He was also a Caelum which had tingled her interest and curiosity since she didn't have an actual conversation with any of them before.

"The Pleasure is mine Prince Noctis" she said with a friendly smile and an obvious interest as she shook his hand. "I'm Lenis Fleuret, though you might already know that" her smile now shifting into a soft laughter. She knew that her father will scold her later for that but she didn't care about what he thinks. she needs to seek her own answers herself and she wouldn't let anyone distort the truths for her. In order to clear the misunderstandings and the conflicts, she needs to know The Caelums and understand them as their ally not their enemy or at least that's what she thought. She just hoped that her Father would understand this one day.

"So how are you finding the festival so far?" she said as she brushed away a stray lock of her hair just at the same moment that she saw Blake waving at her. And enthusiastically she waved back at him with a cheerful smile Found ya! .

An eternal dream
"The Pleasure is mine Prince Noctis" She replied as they Shook hands."So how are you finding the festival so far?". She asked him, and then started waving at someone he didn't recognise before he could answer.

"I'm finding it to be quite the show so far. And please, refer to me as Noctis. Unlike my family, I don't place too much stock in formality, which is why I came to talk to you" Said Noctis as he gave a kind smile. "Also, I was wondering if, unless you wish to talk to your friend over there, you would like to dance". Noctis looked slightly off to the left after this, knowing that if he looked at her he would most likely blush, as he had always done due to being so shy. "We could also use this chance to talk about the peace Ideals of our families, and also give our families a good show to talk about".

He looked at her and waited for her response as the music played in the background.

Friends...

"Please, refer to me as Noctis. Unlike my family, I don't place too much stock in formality, which is why I came to talk to you." Returning her gaze at Noctis, Lenis just smiled at his friendly approach, in fact she was glad that he was one of those people who skipped formalities. "Well Noctis then it is" she said rather cheerfully.

"I was wondering if, unless you wish to talk to your friend over there, you would like to dance." he said seemingly looking somewhere else. "We could also use this chance to talk about the peace Ideals of our families, and also give our families a good show to talk about."

Peace, the word pierced through any other thought she had in her mind. Was he too hoping for peace? someone who thought just like her that this enmity is worthless and good for nothing. The idea brimmed like fire in her and she found herself more willing to know him even more. Her wide innocent eyes sparkled with interest, finding his offer greatly appealing to her. "Sure, I'd love to" she smiled even more as she walked with him to the dance floor. "I'm really glad that I'm not the only one who is thinking of peace as an approach between our families" she added, her voice notably full of hope. " By the way.." For a moment she stopped and turned around, a sweet smile curved upon her lips as her emerald gaze met his eyes. "my friends call me Len."

As Sleif left the picture, Blake walked to get a drink. Moving through the crowd of people Blake made it to the drinks and grabbed one and started drinking it. He returned to the chair that Sleif was once in, and sat down. Scouting the huge crowd of people, he saw Lenis and Noctis walk towards the dance floor. Blake gazed at Noctis, is this a sign of piece? Blake asked imself as he slowly watch the scene. He continued sipping his drink. Now that I have found Sleif, I can finally get the crystal, and the second part of my plan can go underway. Blake thought as he started to have a dark grin, Blake rose up out of his seat and started to walk around, like he was waiting on something.
