Re: <<<~ffffuuuuu~>>> FORCED CHOSEN ONE IS FORCED (A Sora Hateclub) <<<~ffffuuuuu~>>>
There are so many things wrong with what you said.
1.) Riku and Kairi are protagonists. A protagonist is someone who plays a "Good Guy" role. and as far as I'm concerned. Riku and Kairi aren't evil. What you mean is "Main Character"
2.) Sora is a "developed" character as far as I'm concerned. He has a past, there's a reason why things happen to him, there's even a reason how he got the kayblade, there are many things that qualify Sora as "developed". I think what you mean is Sora needs to be a "round character" in any story there are alwase 2 types of characters "Round characters" and "flat character's" if you want to make a decent argument, look up what thoughs are.
3.) The reason for Chain of memories was because when Roxas fuses with Sora, at the end of KH:365/2 days, he regains his memories of the keyblade but when Roxas kills Xion he didn't take all of Sora's memories back, he accidentally broke them. And when Roxas fused with Sora the memories the Namine put in place were broken by the bit of Xion the Sora had left in him.
4.) Sora is different from other "keybladers" because he isn't a Keyblade Weilder at all. He's a Keyblade Master. there are only ever 2 Keyblade Master's at a time, while there could be millions of Keyblade Weilder's. The 2 Keyblade Master's only use the Kindom Key and the Inverted Kingdom Key (Mickey's Key) so Sora and Mickey are the 2 Keyblade Masters in that point in time. Sora is Light, and Mickey is Darkness
5.) It wasn't "by chance" that he got the keyblade from Destiny Islands, he got it from Ventus (the Keyblade Master of Light before Sora) Ventus gives it to Sora when he was young.
6.) The sphere wasn't destroying Desting Islands. The sphere is a Final Fantasy Ideology of Ion. It was being sucked into what is known as the "Void" when sora went through one rip in the fabric he came out through another. Which just happens to be in Traverse Town (a town full of Final Fantasy characters) which was Nomura's way of saying that it was the Void.
7.) It makes perfect sence that Sora cares about his friends because after all, like you said "they're one of the SOLE REASONS he is on his quest". The quest itself isn't hardly important at all in the plot (example: the only thing he gain from Wonderland is a keyblade, one that no ones going to use anywase.). The important worlds like "Traverse Town" and "The world that never was" are the ones that actually are important. that's why most of the important scenes happen in them.
Welcome to the club!
There has to be a specific reason why ordinary characters are the protagonist. Riku and Kairi could have just as easily been the protagonists, but weren't due to circumstances (Riku embracing the darkness and Kairi losing her heart). I also don't mind them as the protagonist if they're one of the most developed characters, WHICH SORA ISN'T. (There are plenty of characters that show more development than Sora, and a lot of his development that happened in Chain of Memories went OUT THE WINDOW because he had to forget those events) One example of Sora's lack of development is that he only cares about his best friends at a few crucial moments in the storyline of each game featuring them rather than throughout his quest (even though they're one of the SOLE REASONS he is on his quest).
I assume that your blue-eyes analogy is meant to refer to the fact that Sora has a keyblade and there are other keyblade wielders (correct me if I'm wrong). The game AT SEVERAL POINTS establishes Sora as "The Chosen One."
Spoiler ShowIn Kingdom Hearts one almost everyone is saying that Sora is the Keyblade's Chosen One and that he's the only keyblade wielder who can set things right. In Chain of Memories and Days we see Riku doing actions which are CRUCIAL to Sora's success (assisting Ansem the Wise in restoring his memory, foiling the plans of Organization XIII, etc.) and can see that he's JUST AS CAPABLE of stopping the main bad guys as Sora is.
So now back to your analogy. You are implying that one of the reasons I hate Sora because he has a keyblade when everyone other wielder has one. That's not really true; one of the reasons I hate Sora because he's a keyblade wielder who's established as the main hero when he really has nothing that sets him apart from the other keybladers. Sora was poorly established as the hero (something I fault Nomura and his story team for) because it was simply by chance that he got the keyblade and escaped Destiny Islands. Riku only escapes because he embraces darkness, Kairi is a princess of heart, yet Sora goes RIGHT INTO THE SPHERE THAT'S CAUSING THE DESTRUCTION ON DESTINY ISLANDS and ends up in Traverse Town of all places. Sora is so fortunate because he's almost always in the right place at the right time, and because of this one could even argue that his great amount of sheer dumb luck makes him a Mary Sue.
EDIT: Everyone, I'm having a really busy week. I can't make guarantees or promises on what day I'm going to post, so from now on I'm just going to post here when I can.
