Re: Fate of A Hero
"Clu."
Clue was at least 40, a very simple looking, middle aged man. His eyes were piercing. His body- it towered over her, inch by inch in age difference.
Akira took the man she looked for in from the ground, still clutching her shoulder. Clu smiled a smile not fitting in its facial surroundings. He cocked his head to the side coyly.
"I hear talk from the programs that there's a User looking for me." He mused, narrowing his eyes playfully. Akira turned over, her back to the ground. She steadied herself with her hands on the ground behind her, and she slid away from him cautiously, never breaking eye contact.
Clu kneeled down in front of her, one arm on his bended knee, the other dangling near the floor beside him. He took the dangling hand forward, towards Akira. Akira flinched, sliding backwards a bit more. Clu chuckled.
"I see you've hurt yourself, User." He said. He waved his hand in front of her, eyes on her ripped light suit near the shoulder, and soon Akira's light suit began to mend itself.
Akira stared at the strange man. This was Clu? Clu?
"My dear, please stand. We have some business to attend to, don't we?"
Akira gave a hitched breath as the man stood with an extended hand. He kept his strange smile on for show, and Akira hesitantly took his hand.
"Let's…make a deal, User."

"Wa-ha-how. Pretty boy lost!" Larxene smirked, laughing quietly. She looked down at the boy on a lab table, coming to consciousness.
"Ugh-" Roxas groaned, squeezing his eyes shut. A strangely annoying voice kept ringing in his ear.
"I told you he would lose, Demyx, but you wouldn't listen to me!"
"Xane, I'm telling you, he HAD to lose, not that he would if the situation allowed it-"
"Dem, HE LOST. He wasn't even supposed to be there in the first place!"
"Xane, you're really starting to annoy the heartless out of me-"
"Dem, what the heartless are you going to tell Xemnas!?"
"Well, we'll find out when he gets back-"
"You don't have a plan!?"
"Xane, SHUT. UP."
"No! I will not! Because the fact of the matter is that Roxas wasn't supposed to go in there! Now look where we are!"
"Xemnas gave us the okay to put him in there-"
"On the terms Roxas would help get Akira or I- whoever SURVIVED- to MCP and insert the USB. I know! But did he help? NO. Is Akira close to MCP? NO! Because I KNOW what Clu is up too! She's never going to see the light of day!"
"Xane-"
"Grr…" Roxas grumbled, rubbling his closed eyelids, "Shut up, would you?"
Roxas opened his eyes to the fluorescence of castle's lab room giving him the welcome back. His vision cleared too a blonde and a brunette in arguing stances on either side of him. The blonde turned to him swiftly, softening her eyes when their colored pupils met. Roxas raise an eyebrow to the strange minuscular act of kindness by part of Xane, blinking.
Their "moment" lasted a couple of seconds, in which she ended by glaring daggers at Demyx who stood across.
"Xemnas is going to kill you."
Demyx let out a laugh. "Really? I recall it was YOU who didn't complete her mission."
Xane crossed her arms. "I didn't get help."
Demyx pressed his lips together, staying silent. He sighed exasperatingly.
"WHAT-ever, Xane, I was just the messenger!"
Demyx sulked off to his post in front of the screen, fumbling with his mike. Xane turned to Roxas.
"You okay, butter-for-gel?" She asked. Roxas laughed, the stopped awkwardly.
"Yeah, I'm…fine."
Xane gave a mischievous smile. She had her hand rested beside his forearm. She looked down at his cut and frowned a bit.
"Did it hurt?" She inquired quietly. Roxas eyed her, confused. She felt his stare, then looked back at him.
"What?!" She added hysterically. Roxas grinned.
"You're being…nice to me."
Xane scoffed, laughing a bit. She stopped, stepping back a bit in realization. Her little sly smile gave into a small frown, and she looked down.
"I'm not that heartless....pun unintended," she replied. Roxas chuckled a bit, sitting up. He rubbed his forearm tenderly, when suddenly, Xane spoke once more.
"And besides," She continued quietly, "You're girl will be back soon. Can't have you dead, can we?" She raised an eyebrow at the blonde comically. He nodded with a knowing smirk.
"Taking one for the team," She finalized, giving him a half hearted wink. With that, she flipped her hair and walked away, this random meaningful conversation with Roxas still ringing in her ears.
