John Simm's Master is going to be in series 10!
BBC Latest News - Doctor Who - John Simm to return as the Master in Doctor Who
I think this'll make for the first multi-Master appearance in the show's history? Really looking forward to Simm and Gomez playing off each other as the same character.
Spoiler Show]From the first scene I liked Bill a lot, and I can't wait to see more of what Pearl Mackie will do in the role. It was cool seeing some twists on the traditional Tardis reveal as well. I'm kinda sad already that we're only getting one series with this Tardis crew of 12, Bill, and Nardole.
There was some cool stuff to see in the Doctor's office: the pictures of River and Susan, as well as having all the previous Sonic Screwdrivers. (I hope he still has is Sonic Sunglasses somewhere.) I think there'll be a lot of cool callbacks in this season like those.
Spoiler ShowSo, the big, probably season-long, mystery seems to be what's inside that vault underneath the school that the Doctor and Nardole have been keeping an eye on. Are they guarding it or trying to get into it? Is there a person in there, or perhaps The Moment from the 50th Anniversary? I'm not really sure how it'd work, but I'd like it to be Susan. There have been little easter eggs of the Doctor's granddaughter here and there for the past few seasons, and I'd like them to do something with her again after so long.
For what they were used for, I thought the emoji-bots actually worked out pretty well (they're in the second episode).I haven't watched since the Matt Smith days (Not that I have anything against Capaldi. Even like the guy from other shows - I just lost interest in the show). I do find some of the areas pretty bizarre, however. Watching a trailer, did I actually see them have a character respond to a robot with thumbs up lights as 'emojis'? Shudder. Still, maybe I'll catch up one day.

I can tell already i'm going to enjoy this episode a lot, but it's still bitter sweet to say goodbye to my favorite Doctor with this too.
Yeah, first episode I've seen since Capaldi and Moffat made the show impossible to enjoy, and it delivered. There are still some things I hope they'll rein in like the pacing (that last dramatic thrust near the end really didn't stick for me) and keeping the Doctor likable (the emphasis on friendship and family is a good start), but Chris has a good track record with Broadchurch and Jodie's pretty natural in the part so, yeah. It'd be nice to feel that itch to watch the show again, although it'll be tough to get as invested as the Tennant/Davies era or even Smith's first series.I saw the season premiere yesterday.
I thought it was great.
