I'm not 100% sure on this, but iirc it WAS PS3 exclusive in japan, and was ported to 360 in the states and other places by Namco Bandai to reach a wider audience and make more money.

Demon's Souls was probably never multiplat because From and Atlus weren't sure it would do too well on the western market.

Demon's Souls was originally only for Japan, but after seeing a large number of imports, Atlus decided to bring it over to the west. Sold quite a bit more than they anticipated. DS being exclusive probably has something to do with the fact that Sony published it in Japan; it is very likely they never thought about the 360.

Dark Souls, on the other hand, from the start there was a 360 version in mind.

The Gamescom 2012 trailer features quite a bit of new content!

0:20 - New narration from Dusk
0:57 - Entrance to Alvina's perch, in Oolacile time
0:58 - Statues clutching Oolacile Catalysts; entrance to Oolacile Tomb?
0:59 - Hand-thing from the Abyss
1:02 - Dark spirits, resembling Humanity
1:05 - New enemy, probably a boss; new character narration
1:10 - Black dragon boss
1:12 - New variation on Stone Guardians
1:13 - Lord Blade Ciaran?!
1:15 - Chained Prisoner enemy
1:18 - Black dragon, again
1:19 - New enemy, one of which is slain by Artorias
1:22 - Artorias, slaying one of the aforementioned enemies; possible boss intro
1:35 - Hawkeye Gough!

I loved the new trailer but I want a PS3 release date

The console version of the Prepare to Die Edition will be available alongside the PC port -- but DLC for the original retail disks is going to be released in October.

I've since found a preview article, with plenty of new information:
Preview: Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition -Destructoid

(My apologies for the rapid replies, everybody; I'm just so excited for this new content!)

So it seems as if we're going to kill all of Lord Gwyn's faithful knights?

I don't know whether Ciaran will be fought, but I know that Hawkeye Gough will be an ally.

Loving PTDE so far! My first toon is chugging along nicely; just beat the Gargoyles (Idk if it's just because I haven't fought them in a while, but they seemed a bit faster than they usually are...) and going to head down to Capra pretty soon. I might jog back to the burg and use my cracked red eye orbs to see if I can't kill any newbies with my +5 Claymore ;D

Also, I couldn't resist picking the pendant as a starting gift :p

Guys, just so it's known: There's a patch/fix out for the PC version that significantly improves the visual fidelity of the game, even though there was no official bump in graphics or upscaling by From Software. It's an internal rendering fix called DSFix, and the results are great.
