There's probably 10 Disney worlds, which is what I expected. I wonder if Ariel summons means that Sora's past teammates could be summons as well ala Simba in KH1.

Does anyone get the feeling the development phases are divided into different animation categories?:
3D CG: Pixar:
1. Toy Story
2. Monsters Inc.
3.
2D Animated:
1. Hercules
2.
3.
3D Animated:
1. Tangled
2. Big Hero 6
3.
I'd imagine with people focusing on different styles of animation, this is how the world development phase would be divided.
There could be a 4th additional world for each category based on Nomura's statements.
My statements are based on what was said here:

Mentioning the things like the large design and animation team.
I’d be fine with it, tbh. With worlds of this magnitude, I think 9 would suffice. Especially if that number excludes smaller areas like Mysterious Tower and potential mini-game worlds like 100 Acre Wood. Throw in 3-5 original worlds and we should be set.
If 9 is the number, these would be my worlds in their corresponding development department:
Early:
Olympus Coliseum
Galaxy Toys
Kingdom of Corona
Middle:
Monstropolis
Jungle Book
Arendelle
Late:
Bewitching Bayou
San Fransokyo
Game Central Station
Yeah, I'm also quite certain that 9 is the final number of Disney worlds here.
This is my worlds categorized in each section of the game:
Early:
Olympus Coliseum
Kingdom of Corona
Galaxy Toys
Middle:
Monstropolis
Arendelle
Treasure Planet world
Last:
Atlantis: The Lost Empire world
Sugar Rush (Wreck-it-Ralph world)
San Fransokyo
Because the forest in Corona looks more like a jungle, The Jungle Book and Pocahontas are out of the options here.
The original worlds would be placed between each section.
Tutorial world leading to Early Disney worlds: Twilight Town+Mysterious Tower (these two would be combined as one like in KH 2)
Between Early and Middle Disney worlds: Radiant Garden
Between Middle and Last Disney worlds: Disney Town/Castle
Final world: Keyblade Graveyard
Secret Final world: Kingdom Hearts
Cutscenes only world: Destiny Islands
DLC world: Realm of Darkness and maybe Castle Oblivion/Land of Departure
If he's divided the team to work on world's chronologically, then they probably haven't been divided based on art style as effecient as a process as I could see that being, considering these first few worlds we've seen have been a mixture of traditional 2D animation, Pixar animation and the 3D WDS animation. But who knows, considering they're about 60% complete on the mid section worlds, maybe that's where the Toy Story and Monsters Inc worlds take place.
No matter how many world's there actually are, we're bound to get a hearty experience. If Ariel is a summon then Atlantica could potentially return. Twilight Town, Mysterious Tower, The Dark World and the Keyblade Graveyard have all been shown or known to be included. Other likely staples would be Radiant Garden, Destiny Islands, and (my god, hopefully) Kingdom Hearts itself.
I have a feeling her being a summon means Atlantica will not be in the game. It'll be similar to Mushu and Simba in KH 1.
