Jafar is not content with his position as royal vizier, and intends to marry Jasmine as doing so would make him Sultan. He gains the power to stop time all over the city through a duplicate magic lamp provided by Pete, then kidnaps Jasmine and brings her to the Cave of Wonders. As a last ditch effort to destroy Data Sora, he abandons his original plan and uses his third wish to become a genie himself, forgetting that a lamp would be his prison forevermore.
