Maleficent's pet raven, Diablo serves as her eyes and ears, particularly during the kingdom-wide hunt for Princess Aurora. Exploring the Forbidden Mountains is a dangerous task with Diablo around, as he would alert the castle's guards to intruders.

Maleficent's loyal pet raven is always by his mistress's side, ready to do her bidding. His thick black feather contrast with the striking golden beak and claws; the irony as the light within the darkness is a concept that does not appeal to Maleficent but is yet present within Diablo's appearance.

The evil fairy sent Diablo out to deliver a message and a token to King Mickey. The message ─ return to Disney Castle immediately or Queen Minnie will be in dire trouble. The token ─ her crown.
