Half of the wait for Unchained X[chi] is almost over! At 12pm JST on the third of September, the service will activate on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

To elaborate: it will be possible to download the app part first from GooglePlay & the AppStore late at night on the day, but be aware that launching the app before service begins at noon on the 3rd will result in an 'under maintenance' screen.
Kingdom Hearts Unchained X[chi] is a mobile version of Kingdom Hearts X[chi] which was released in 2012 for browsers. Originally a Japanese exclusive games, the increase in plot relevancy contained within the game such as the Book of Prophecy's and Kingdom Hearts 3 hints caused the need for an English localisation. After a successful social media campaign (#ChitotheWest), Kingdom Hearts Unchained X[chi] was announced at E3 2015 for both Japan and North America, however the release date for the latter is still to be determined.

Quite sane of them really. Hoping for a stealth English release like Square Enix does cause they just drop iOS games everywhere.

TGS isn't really the place for western news, I'm afraid. Definitely will not be against a surprise announcement though!

CBT of Brave Exvius ends on September 2nd, so glad to have another app to hold me over until its full release.

Also as a side note for those unaware, this month's story update will continue the main event taking place in Daybreak Town with Ephemera who may or may not be dead and the Foretellers so be sure to stay tuned!

It's pretty common to show off very recently released or soon-to-be released games at conventions to give it more exposure.

I wonder how many people in Japan will hop to the Unchained bandwagon? X is already there in PC form, but as mobile gaming continues to grow in Japan, the possibilities are interesting.

i cant get the japn version sincei having hard time switch my acount to japan so ill wait for the us relase which should that be long i cave in i got it on my samsung galxy app so yeah see you guys in the game

Kazr10 addressed some points about the game after Unchained's announcement:
Surfed through the Japanese message boards and more than half are not excited for this. More of a "I'll still try it" view.
Main reason being how Unchained X is designed.
The article emphasizes a lot on Unchained X being made for short playing time. But this is not how mobile gaming is like in Japan. Mobile gamers here pretty much spend the entire day on it so this concern is unnecessary. Plus the descriptions of Unchained X make it seemed like it's just KH X Lite.
There is a big worry in its sustainability as well. Mobile gaming is the most profitable gaming medium right now. There is very little DLC stigma in Japan. The basic thinking is "we don't mind paying for the fun", a good example is how our arcade industry is still thriving and popular even though it costs US$5-8 per play. I don't think Japan is the source of DLC, but we are definitely the main culprit for making it prosper. So you can't blame more and more companies moving into this industry since this is where the profits are.
So Unchained X will be entering the most cut-throat gaming industry. There are companies like Sega (especially Sega) that will end their mobile games the moment profits are stale. Players are worried that the premium base will not be able to sustain it. From our point of view, the popular mobile games overseas are like clan of wars, candy crush, etc which are short. In Japan, majority are RPGs (card RPGs, action RPGs, etc). Premium playing overseas are mostly on things like extra health, extra turns, more continues, etc. Here we have those on top of the main money source: draws. Hundreds of Chi players spend a least US$100 per week to buy card packs and consecutive draws, on top of $1~$30 per day on the AP/BP restoration. And even this revenue is incomparable to the popular mobile games.
In other words, Unchained X really needs the support of international players when it's localized. Well it's created for that purpose anyway.
And till now, no one in Chi is talking about Unchained. There is little to no buzz on this, only people talking are die-hard fans.
2 main reasons:
1) Chi is all about social interactions. Eg. 4-5 S class parties in Ursus is pretty much a big family (200+ players) and we have players jumping across parties to interact with different groups every week. It is also the biggest reason why Chi is still surviving. The events have become extremely dull and the way they make premium players to pay more is sickening. Plus the developers have definitely not give Chi any focus at all, the 2nd anniversary was a joke.
2) And since the game has become so unattractive, the remaining players are those who have stuck with this game the longest, or those who have invested($) the most. Why start from scratch in a new game when we are already so strong in Chi.
Japan is certainly excited for Unchained. But not the majority of JP Chi players.

Honestly, I'm just wanting hope that Square made this compatible with older Android models, cause I seriously want this.
Not to forget, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius can run on my phone nicely, pretty certain that game has more to run then Unchained will have.

I forgot how his hair looked in the KHIII version. It has calmed down quite a bit. :D Uuh, I gotta go and listen to X`s version of Dearly Beloved now.
EDIT: Oh, all right. I did not think about the social interactions at all. Hoping X(chi) will continue improving as Unchained does, and that X players will not be forgotten.
It would be cool if the players of X will be the ones who are going to fight in the Keyblade War, and the more the players and the stronger the Unions are, the more of soldiers the war will have.

I tried out the Japanese version and it is glorious. Plays great and the game runs so smoothly on my iPhone 6+. Not going to play it much because I'm going to erase it as soon as the English version is released, so no sense making tons of progress just to erase it all later. But it is really really awesome. Can't wait for the English release!
I am so very glad that I am jailbroken, now I get to play it in the USA! Thanks to whoever placed it on AppCake :D
