Thank goodness the crow wasn't some possesed crow. She sighed with relief. She coudln't help but let out a giggle when he commented on the clothes coming back this time.

"You just took me by suprise. Where I come from, crows don't ussully talk."

She relaxed a bit and leaned against the wall instead of pressing up against it.

"The names Ali."

Amme raised her eyebrows.

"Aren't you the modest one," she said. "But sometimes, I can't help what I do. I animate things without thinking ... consciously at least. They reflect my emotions a lot." she shrugged and stood up.

 

[Super Sonic]

"So......what do the birds mean?" Chris asked as he stared at Shane talking to Ali.
"Was that guy a crow just a second ago?" he thought to himself, as he bumped rythmically against the tree.

Shane's smile grew a bit wider. This was going easier than he expected. SO far, she hadn't tried to punch him and that was always a plus.

"Where are you from Ali? I'm from Canada and before you ask, yes, I like bacon and pancakes and no, we are not all lumberjacks."

He leaned against the wall next to her, watching the pearly white snow fall to the ground. He kept about a foot away from her, partly out of shyness and partly out of fear of getting punched in the face.

Amme shrugged again. "I'm not sure. Freedom, happiness, a feeling of security, hazarding a guess."

 

[Super Sonic]

"Wow, that narrows it down" Chris sighed as he glared at Shanes back.
Chris leaned itowards Amme and asked "em.....was that guy, like a crow just a second ago?"

While exploring the mansion Sean saw Shane and a bunch of other mutants.Sean then ran over towards them and walked over to Shane."Hey, man do you know where the food is?".asked Sean.

"Washington state."

So he was a comedian. A slight good one too. She should have worn her jacket, or atleast brought one with her. Sure it was cold in washington state but when she was somewhere new it always seemed colder and she was more sensitive to it. Almost like the opposite of adapting, but then you adapt after going through the phase.

"You saw me punch him didn't you? No one should have seen that.."

 

[Blackest Night]

"No, don't worry about it. Everyone's been feeling odd since they got here. No one knows whats going on, how, or why. Some violence has to be expected."

He stood up straight, checking his back to make sure the wall hadn't left anything on it. Satisfied, he made a mock bow towards the mansion itself.

"Well, I haven't eaten since I left Toronto. Want to get some food? It's rather cold out here."

"Yeah, he was," Amme replied. "I guess he's a shape-shifter. Cool." she looked at her hands experimentally. "I've been wondering if I could shape-shift. Not all the way, but with superficial things- giving myself wings or claws made of energy." she smiled wistfully. "When I'm stronger."

"I still shouldn't have.."

There was nothing left of a crow on him, that was a good thing though. But if a feather was left she probably would have taken it and tied it in her hair with the phoenix feather.

"Sure why not."

She was hungry as well, she had eaten hours ago on the plan but she was hungry again.

Shane walked alongside Ali, trudging through the snow towards the mansion doors. He passed Chris, the guy she had tried to nail in the face and simply looked at him, wondering why he made her angry enough to hit someone.

"What was it like in your hometown? Big, small, what?"

He payed close attention to whatever her answers were. He was a good listener.

 

[Super Sonic]

"Yeah that's be cool" Chris said as he leant away from Amme.
"So any idea when any of this is going to kick off?" Chris asked her, as he pulled himself off the tree.
"It's getting pretty boring, waiting around like this." he admitted.

"No idea. Let's do it," she said, walking up toward the mountain, brushing stray strands of black hair away from her face, listening to the snow crunching underfoot. It was a calming, yet nostalgic sound. She wondered where she would be sleeping. Would she be paired with people, or alone?

She didn't even glance at chris as they passed him.

"It was pretty small. The town where everybody knows everybody. Not always a good thing though."

Of course, when everbody knew everybody and someonedid something everyone knew. For example, trying to change to a phoenix form and almsot dieing, everybody would know. Probably her grandma's reason for sending her somewhere out of town all the way across the country. Across the country was a bit extreme but so was going somewhere out of the country.

"Why are you here instead of in Canada?"

"Well, I spent a lot of time looking in th emirror and wondering why I wouldn't stop changing. My parent's tried to tell me it was just a phase, and that it would pass. They didn't know I was a mutant and they were contacting specialist after specialist to try and find out what was wrong. When Mr. Wagner came to us, it was like a gift from the guy upstairs. He offered to take me down here and tr to help me with it. My parents were ecstatic and sent me off,. They want me to go back and be normal."

Shane took a deep breath. That had been a rather long story, even if it was 3 years boiled down into a few sentences. He looked at Ali and wondered the same question. "Why is she here?""

"Ali, if you don't mind me asking, why are you here?"

 

[Super Sonic]

Chris caught up to Amme who was only a few feet way.
"So, em.....what are we doin' now?" Chris asked as he followed.
His feet crunching in the snow, he hated that sound, it reminded him of all the Christmas' he spent on the street, well the two of them.

She sighed knowing it would come to this.

"A couple weeks ago I tried turning into a phoenix like I did when i was five in a house fire. Thats where I got this feather, it was next to me when i woke up after the fire. But thats not the point, I couldn't do it and I almost killed my self trying to do so. I don't know if my grandma is a mutant or not but she sent me here. Theres a bunch of mutant haters in my town. The instant they figured out what I was I was rejected, and everytime I went to school I would be cornered and bullied, they might even throw a punch in everynow and then."

"Dunno," Amme said. "Hopefully, finding out where we're gonna stay, and even better, getting something to eat." she laughed. "I was too nervous to eat this morning," she admitted, but then fell silent. She didn't want to say that she also haden't had the money either- running away will do that to you. It was hard to remember the hate of mutants her parents had tried to teach her.

 

[Super Sonic]

"Hmm, I don't hungry often, living on the streets, you get used to it, plus, it's not as if I can die of starvation" Chris joked as he and Amme walked towards the mansion.
"Oh, I never told I lived on the streets did I?" Chris asked.
