The reason we are all shocked is because it is a continuation of the Dissidia series yet it is a rhythm game for kids. No one was expecting that.

Plus I don't care (Even though I like but fail at rythnm games)

If they said they were going to announce a new title in Famitsu, and this one is announced in Jump, then that's a pretty massive gap in the dots.

It could be the same game, but all I'll say is don't assume as it makes an ass of u and me

I'll admit, I didn't see which magazine this was printed in, nor did I even think about Famitsu and Jump, however I find it hard for Square to be announcing two new games, in the space of a week that doesn't involve a Japanese gaming convention.

But, hey, if I'm wrong and there is another game, then so be it.
Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days cause nobodies perfect.

I will still defend Square Enix and Yoichi Wada to some extent, but I feel disappointed. I was hoping SE had learned their lesson about brand integrity and would cut back on the FF releases.

But this has got to be Square Enix's lowest moment. Even if it's vaguely fun, why does there need to be a chibi Final Fantasy themed music rhythm game.

From a company like Konami or Valve this would be considered a good April Fools joke!

I really hope there is really an announcement in Famitsu that isn't Theatrhythm. How do you pronounce this anyways? The(thee)-at-rhythm? Theat (theet)-rhythm?

If this is SE's way of making FF appealing to younger audiences, couldn't they do this with more Chocobo and Crystal Chronicle games?

I wish SE would adopt a new business idea...or actually listen to fans instead of thinking that they know what fans want.

Of course, what fans ask for are pretty wild and impossible things at the current time. "Final Fantasy VII remake" would take forever to make, and the FFVII team is all split up or freelancing. "Kingdom Hearts 3" is a silly request because we obviously need KH3D and BBSv2 now that we know one exists and the other is highly possible.

So why couldn't they make a console Dissidia game? Or a new IP that isn't FF or KH or DQ or SO? Or use some of those registered names like "Haeresis XIII" and all of the various "Type-1" "Type-2" and "Type-3"
