Hey guys, If this chapter takes me a while, I'm sorry. As you all probably know my arm has been giving me a bit of strife lately, and even though I'm really supposed to rest it, I can't fight off the urge to let off my creativity. lol Everything that lets me express my creativity needs arms lol, Hm.. Except for singing, which I've been doing a lot of lately for some really unknown reason... Anyways enough of my ramblings and on with the chapter!

Chapter 9 - Venturing Alone?
Sora awoke that morning at about eight-thirty. He yawned and stretched his arms out, noticing Jiminy was still asleep he decided to keep quiet. His dream that night really had puzzled him, what did these people have to do with him? Why did they have keyblades? Sora eventually came to the conclusion that the dream really didn't mean anything and it was just his imagination going wild - as usual. Sora went into the bathroom, had a shower and changed into his everyday clothes. He walked back in and stumbled over the small step up into his room. "Ahh!" Sora tried to keep his voice down but it wasn't good enough.
"Good Morning!" Jiminy said chirped. Jiminy was obviously a really good morning person, unlike Sora who obviously wasn't entirely awake yet.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you!" Sora said hopping back on his bed next to Jiminy. Jiminy was sitting up and getting ready to stretch.
"Oh no, you didn't! I've been up for quite a while now. I guess you just didn't realise." he said jumping out of bed. "About last night..."
"The dream? It was nothing." Sora said smiling.
"Are you sure? You seemed really shaken by it."
"Yeah, I'm fine! No worries, It was just a dream, I barely remember it now." Sora said trying re-assure him.
"Well, alright then!" Jiminy said jumping into Sora's jacket hood. Sora began pulling his shoes on.
"Let's go downstairs and have some breakfast, then we'll go and meet Kairi at her house!" Sora said standing up and walking towards the door.
"Okay!" Jiminy smiled broadly as Sora walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. His mother was standing their washing some dishes.
"Good Morning Sweetheart!" She beamed. "What do you want for Breakfast? I made pancakes!"
Sora's eyes widened. "Sound great!" She brought out a plate of steaming hot pancakes with maple syrup drizzled all over them. She placed a plate in front of Sora. "Thanks!" He said grabbing a pancake and slapping it on his plate.
"Do you want some ice cream with that hun?" She said going to the freezer.
Sora nodded, "Okay! Thanks!" as she was going to the freezer Sora cut a small corner and put it down his jacket hood, he felt two hands take it from him.
"You right hun?" Sora's mum asked looking at Sora with his hand in an awkward position behind his back. Sora immediately began scratching.
"Yeah, just itchy." Sora grinned nervously hoping she'd buy it.
"Oh alright then, she smiled and dumped three scoops of ice cream on his plate and walked back into the Kitchen. Sora slumped back into his seat and Jiminy kicked him hard in the neck. "Ah!" Sora grabbed the back of his neck. Jiminy had caught him lying, again. His mother turned round.
"You sure you're ok? Maybe we should get that neck of yours checked." She said seeming concerned. In horror of the thought of Jiminy being discovered inside his clothes Sora thought quickly took his hand away from his neck.
"No, I'm fine." Sora re-assured her. Still looking at him as if she wasn't quite convinced she went back into the kitchen to continue her chores. Sora scoffed down about four pancakes feeling full he got out of his chair. "Bye mum!" He called waving to her.
"Bye honey!" She smiled and waved back.
"Oh, I almost forgot! If I'm not back until late or if I'm not back at all tonight, don't worry! Kairi and I are going to be hanging out at the island, we haven't decided if we'll stay or not."
"Oh... Are you sure you'll be alright? On the island all night!" She looked really worried now. Sora grinned at her and shook his head.
"Mum, You don't need to worry, remember, I survived over a year on my own." Jiminy kicked him again hard in the neck. "Uh, I mean, I had friends a long the way, to help me. Besides, what could happen?" He said with a cheesy looking grin on his face, his mother laughed.
"Well, I guess you're right. Still, I'm not sure I'm happy about you going to the island all night..." Her face grew serious.
"Trust me, We'll be fine!" He said, and walked out the door. His poor mother sighed behind him. Sora walked down his path and onto the road. "Did you have to kick me so hard?" Sora said rubbing his neck. Jiminy jumped out of the hood and onto his shoulder.
"I think you know very well why I kicked you." Jiminy said tapping his foot.
"Yeah.. I know, but... I don't want to hurt your feelings Jiminy but... my mum has a fear of insects, If I told her about you she'd grab the bug spray. Jiminy gasped.
"Oh my, well... We don’t want that! But... maybe I could have taught her that we aren't all as bad as they say!"
Sora chuckled. "You don't know my mother."
"I suppose not..."
Sora turned the corner to see Kairi leaning on the tree outside her house. "Hey there!" He called out to her. Kairi looked up and smiled. Sora walked up to her and offered a hand up. She grinned and took it. "How long have you been waiting here?"
"Oh since about eight o'clock." She said still smiling.
"Wow.. I didn't realise we were going to set out early, otherwise I would have set an alarm." Sora said slightly embarrassed that she'd been waiting for him since before he woke up.
"Oh it's alright, I couldn't sleep. I was too excited!" She beamed and her eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Sora grinned.
"Well, let's not wait any longer!" They walked along the path together and pushed their boats into the sea.
"You're more yourself today Sora!" Kairi said paddling along beside him.
"Yeah, I am aren't I? I guess it's taken me a while to get use to being home for good. You know?" Sora looked over to her she was still smiling, which relieved him a bit.
"Yeah, I understand. You've been able to go wherever you want for so long, it's hard staying in the on spot." She said smiling at him.
"That's exactly what I mean! I mean, all I wanted was to be with you and Riku again, but... I never realised how hard it would be to get use to things again. Getting use to having a normal life again."
"It's ok Sora, I mean, I was kinda selfish for a while... I never thought how coming back to me would affect you... I just wanted to be with you, nothing else mattered to me..." She looked a little sad herself; Sora was quite taken back by what she had said.
"Kairi, That's all I ever wanted too." Sora smiled trying to cheer her up a bit. She began to smile again, which made Sora feel even better.
There was a slightly awkward slience between them after that. All that was heard was the waves brusing up against the oars of Sora and Kairi. Jiminy cleared his throat.
"So... Where do you think we'll find the keyhole Sora?"
Pondered of this for a while. Shaking his head he finally said "No idea... but... That's never stopped us from finding it before." Sora grinned.
"So, what do the keyhole's look like?" Kairi asked smiling at Sora and Jiminy. She seemed really currious.
"Well... It looks just like a big keyhole... but it's often hidden so it's not easily found. But I know, We'll find it! Even if it takes us days, we will make sure our home is going to be safe from the darkness. Once and for all!" Sora.
"Yeah!" Kairi was really getting into the sprit of things now. "Hey look, we're almost there!" Sora and Jiminy turned their heads towards the island. She pointed towards a tall figure sitting on the Paopu tree. "Hey, Riku's already waiting for us, let's go!"
The two began paddling faster through the water, untill the reached the island. They tied their boats onto the dock and Sora help Kairi up onto the deck. She had her eyes fixated on the ocean. "You coming?" Sora asked.
"In a sec. You go ahead and I'll catch up!" She said still staring out into the ocean.
"Alright then." Sora replied. Jiminy jumped into Sora's hood as he began to run towards Riku, and down long the along the bridge. Sora jumped over the paopu tree and leaned on it. Riku stared out towards the ocean.
"Nothing's changed, huh?"
"Nope. Nothing will." Sora replied.
"What a small world." Riku said still looking towards the ocean. Sora was begining to understand now, it was just like what Riku had said before any of this began.
"Ours is just a little pice of somthing much greater." Sora smiled.
"But, part of one that's much bigger." Sora replied.
"Yeah." Riku nodded.
Somthing was else was coming to Sora's heart though, he had so many questions to ask Riku but he said the first one that came to mind. "Hey Riku... What do you think it was? The Door to the light?"
Riku just laughed and jumped down beside him. He pointed towards Sora's heart. "This."
At first, Sora didn't get it. "This?" Sora put his hand over his heart.
"Yeah, It's always closer than you think." Riku smiled.
Sora thought about this for a while, My heart... everyone says Kairi's my light... maybe Kairi opened my heart. The door to light is my heart! Sora grinned brightly.
"Sora!" Both of the guys turned around. "Riku!" Kairi was running towards them, she seemed quite destressed.
"Hey, what's up?" Sora asked as she stopped infront of them trying to catch her breath.
"Look." She said lifting a glass bottle in her hand. It had a letter inside, and on the paper was the king's seal. Was this what he had longed for? A chance to escape and be free again?
"From the King?" Sora said taking it from her hand. He quickly took out the cork and shook the letter out. He was burning with excitement. He un-scrolled the letter and began reading. Both Riku and Kairi came up beside him and read over his shoulder.
Dear Sora, Riku, Kairi and Jiminy,
Sorry to ask this so soon but I fear time is running short.
We must return to heal the worlds, before it's too late.
I wish this didn't have to happen so quickly,
but all our destinys are pre-determined.
Yours, and mine
We will arrive on the islands of the 23rd of April
just before noon.
Yours Sincerly,
King Mickey
Kairi looked frightened by the letter "What do you think it means?"
Sora's eyes were wide and filled with excitement "It means... I'm going on an adventure!"
"Don't you mean WE'RE going on an adventure?" Kairi reminded him.
"You can't go!" Sora exclaimed.
"Why not?!?" Kairi stamped her foot.
"We already talked about this last time Kairi, It's too dangerous!" Sora persisted.
"I have a keyblade now." Kairi said proudly.
"But... you haven't learned to use it properly yet..." Sora and Kairi stared at eachother as if they were in a western show-down.
Kairi decided to take another aproach, She began smiling sweetly. "But, who better to teach me than the Keyblade Master."
"Isn't the 23rd of April tomorrow? I can't teach you all you need to know in one day!" Sora remained stubborn.
"Oh come on Sora! I thought the Keyblade Master was always up for a challenge!" She said smiling sweetly and tilting her head to the side.
"Yeah but..." He was cut off.
"Are you two forgetting about me?" Riku said coming up beside them. "I thought the letter was addressed to all FOUR of us." Riku smirked. "What is is Sora? Are you too cool to hang with us when your with your buddies from other worlds? Maybe he think's we'd cramp his style..."
"Aww Come on Riku! You know that's not true!" Sora snapped.
"Ok then, afraid we'll steal your thunder?"
"No, It's not that at all!" Sora was feeling really guilty.
"Then what is?"
"It's just..." Sora went quiet and looked away over at the ocean. "It's just I don't want you guys to get hurt..."
"Sora..." Kairi said he smile faded away, she began to feel bad for all the teasing.
Riku on the other hand just laughed "You're worried about US getting hurt? Sora, I think I've had to save your behind on more than one occasion!" Kairi's smile returned and she began to giggle.
"Hey!" Sora turned round and glared at Riku, but Riku was right. Sora began to grin aswell seeing the funny side of it.
"If we stick together, we won't have to worry about each other." Kairi smiled.
"She's right Sora, Three heads are better than one! I would have thought you learned that with Donald and Goofy. Remember what Hercules said
You're friends give you strength. You can't do this on your own!" Jiminy added.
Sora knew he was losing this fight, "Yeah, You guys are right!" He replied with a huge grin. "Kairi, Get your Keyblade ready!"
