Guy theat likes girl here. Can't really care about his VA as long as he's good. Wonder what Riku would look in Devil May Cry 4 gear?

I have only just now realized how much I love Riku's voice. -w-
It's very sexy, isn't it? =w=
Spoiler ShowI donno, I really don't see it, and the more I think about it, the less it adds up with his character.
The mainest issue I hear is that Riku was supposed to drag both Roxas and Xion back by the hair for Sora's sake because Sora was everything.
Second issue is the whole "why did Riku give Xion a choice but not Roxas".
I'll deal with the second issue first. I personally believe that Riku was going to give Roxas a choice, much like how he gave Xion. Roxas is, after all, as much a part of Sora as Xion if not more, and unlike Xion, we know for a fact Riku saw Sora's face on Roxas and accepted him as his Nobody. Also, this realization was enough to make Riku lose the fight initially. But this is where he beat Roxas using the Darkness.
Why does this mean, imo, that Riku was going to give Roxas a choice?
Because Diz waltzed in.
Roxas had to be stopped. There's no question about it. Riku himself knew it well enough and Xion confirmed it through the Oblivion - letting Roxas go was letting Roxas get killed. There was no choice on that matter.
And that's where Diz walked in. What did Riku tell him? That they might not have to do this. That if Roxas 'felt' Sora, that they might not have to force him into doing anything. He admitted as much in KH2 as well.
Well, guess what? That's basically what he got to do with Xion - give her a choice. And hell, even Xion herself thought that Roxas would eventually come to the same conclusion, only he needed some more time. Time he never got.
Because Diz came in.
Diz most likely thought that Riku would pull with Roxas the same stunt he did with Xion, and will give Roxas the time to choose. Only that meant more time Diz couldn't afford to lose, and that might've ended in Roxas either being taken back by the Organization or Roxas willingly going back. Neither an acceptable outcome. So Diz walked in.
And Riku was OOC why again?
Of course, this is given that you think, like me, he would've given either of them the chance to do so.
"For the sake of his best friend".
True, if you think Riku did what he did in KH1 for Kairi, we have precedence of saying he'd have done something similar for Sora. If he was willing to sacrifice the Princesses and a couple of worlds at least for Kairi's Heart, why not kick out of existence a Replica and a Nobody?
I guess the answer, the simple answer to that would be -
Riku stopped being that big a prick at the end of KH1 when he began recovering from his Darkness.
Doing whatever it took no matter the cost? Isn't that part of why he was that hard on himself in CoM and afterward? Isn't that part of his redemption, growing up from that? Not doing it again?
CoM was Riku taking control of his Darkness. Using it to do what he wanted, not the other way around. So with the Darkness that in KH1 clouded his judgement and made him think that 'hey, mass kidnapping is cool!' out of the way, really, what reason did he have to not give Xion a chance to think things through? And as I said before, with Diz walking in? Hell, he was about to do the same with Roxas. Otherwise, he would never have been guilt-tripping about it like he did in Days and KH2.
If anything, Riku acting this way in Days is proof of his character development from R-R :V
fantasy08 said:The fact is Roxas was in a killing mood most fierce. Talking was out of the question from the get go.
However, I do wonder what Riku would have done if Xion didn't go to Sora of her own will. Would we have seen a return of KH1 Riku? I mean Riku gave Xion a choice yes,but it was really the illusion of one.
I wondered,but when in doubt do what the mods do lol.I put it under the spoiler mark not because of actual spoilers, but because of the length xD;;;
Mmhm. And like I said before, he had to be stopped otherwise he'd have gotten himself killed at the hands of the Organization. It was in self defense, both for Riku and ironically, Roxas. D:And then Diz walked in -3-;;; Riku never had the choice to give Roxas a choice.
I don't think we'd have seen a return of KH1 Riku. That Riku's long gone. But I do think we'd have seen him guilt-tripping inside Days itself, much like how he did as soon as Roxas went down and Diz walked in.I mean, he had the whole 'oh it was her choice' and 'eh, I'll forget her anyway in five minutes' to pretend it didn't matter but the way they had his Memories of her flash through his mind before they went into static showed he really did care and regretted she had to go away. But because it was her choice, he also lost the right to talk her out of it, regardless of whether or not it was ever an option.
I agree. It was most certainly self defense as well. Roxas was definitely trying to kill Riku it seemed to me. He was pretty much like 'you want to get in my way then you can die to'. Also Nomura pretty much said( in case it wasn't obvious before) that Roxas was no match for Xenmas in the least bit. Then you've got the other members backing him up... Roxas would have definitely gotten his butt beat literally to oblivion,and Sora would have been totally screwed over along with the multiverse.
So basically if Riku had given Roxas and Xion a (illusion)choice and they both got back to him and said thanks but no thanks Riku would have taken them both down by force, but felt guilty about it after-wards? Hmm, yes that does sound like the Riku we have now. Anti-hero instead of complete jerk. That icky conscious wouldn't have gotten in the way if he was still his KH1 self.
He lets Xion live, but not Roxas, when they are both needed to wake up Sora, his best friend of 16 years.
You must've not read anything of the couple of last posts, have you?
Diz walked in right as Riku beat Roxas. It's not like Riku really had the chance to "let Roxas live" - namely, give him the choice to decide to come back to Sora willingly.
He wouldn't have let Xion live, either, mind; she just reached the decision to go back on her own so Riku didn't need to add to his guilt issues like he did with Roxas.
Days-Riku is OOC to KH1 Riku, but when you look at the overall series I'd sooner say KH1 Riku was "OOC", seeing how he was warped by the Darkness.
Especially in the scenes with Xion, all romantic, or acting like he's older.
When he said, "You could say I am, the biggest nobody of them all", that really annoyed me for some reason, along with "You can't fight fire with sparks". That, and the whole scene on Destiny Islands. I can't really explain it....
okay... is that a join request? oh well might as wellRiku's one of my favorite characters. I didn't like him in KH1 because he was being such a jerk to Sora. But for the rest of the games I really liked him. I actually liked 'the biggest Nobody of them all' comment for some reason. Favorite Riku moment? Um...I really like at the end of Chain of Memories when DiZ tells him that's the road to nightfall and he says no 'it's the way to dawn'.And it took me a while to realise that his Keyblade was renamed Way to Dawn after that.
I liked the sparks comment, less so the Biggest Nobody one. Way to go all over-melodramatic, Ri-chan xD;
