A close friend of mine and her mother and father recently died in a car crash on their way to a Christmas gathering, but fortunately her sister has survived and is expected to recover.

She was without a doubt one of the smartest and kindest girls I have ever known. Excelling in drama, choir, and speech, she was very popular with the student body, having an impact on everyone she was around.

So I ask you to please pray with me for her sister and their family in the wake of this devastating tragedy.

hmm...That is very sad...

You have my sympathy as well...

I can't believe that happened...was it involved with a drunk driver or something?

The cause of the crash I mean

I believe the accident was caused solely by icy roads, a chain of events occurred after their car slid on the ice, which eventually led to the car being hit by a tractor-trailer. I don't know if anything else may have contributed.

She was 19, the father 59, mother 53. Her sister is 17 and last I heard was in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

I'll say a prayer for her tonight.

Best wishes to her in her future.

That's horrible. I can't even imagine the pain she must be feeling, or will feel.

You have my concern, and I hoe that she recovers, both pyshically and emotionally.

That's awful....be a good friend to the sis OK? It sucks to have something that bad happen anytime, but around Christmas....she will really need some support right now.
She has my prayers, as well. <3

From late last night:

"Early reports suggested that doctors were going to keep Katy sedated for 72 hrs for fear that she had suffered potentially serious head injuries during the accident. Tonight we learned that Katy is awake and was told about her family. She is apparently responding as well as anyone could have hoped. She is speaking in complete sentences and has no tubes attached to her. Doctors are holding back a bit until they’ve had a chance to do a few more tests and see Katy tomorrow, but things are at least now seemingly much better than they were only a few hours ago."

I was also told that Katy will be moved out of the ICU by this evening, so she is making amazing progress physically.

That's very good to know...
I will keep her in my prayers tonight. ^

It's great to know that she is recovering so well....and so quickly!

I'll be sure to keep her in my prayers, though.
