As a cashier, allow me to say that for me, at least, I really couldn't give less of a shit. When handling money, you go into this sort of calculator mode and it really doesn't matter whether you're paying in bills or change, I'm just there to count it. : P
As for paying in change, myself, I've done it a few times, but it's never really been more than three or four dollars...usually for the tip at a restaurant or something. My boyfriend had this giant jar with $50+ in change in it and we were able to milk it for several months.
