Having only Theater mode for KH358/2 in KH1.5 is a good idea?

When the news came to us that KH1.5 wouldn't have KH358/2, but only have the cutscenes from it, I'm sure all of us were pretty doubtful on if this would work. For me, I was very happy that they went with this choice. KH358/2 was a good game, I thought the story was very compelling, making me invested in Roxas, Axel, and Xion's friendship and what would happen. The ending also literally made me burst into tears. But the gameplay was soooooo tedious. Don't get me wrong it was fun, but playing in the same worlds and doing the same stuff in almost every world killed me. So having only the story present in KH1.5 to me was a great idea. Did anyone else feel the same way as me when KH1.5 was announced?

Personally I preferred it as cutscenes as well. The potential up side would have been that they would have had to retool almost the entire gameplay play had they remade it, so it may have been a better game but seeing as how I didn't like the story either I'm not aching over the loss. Even if they had completely over hauled the gameplay and made it more fun I wouldn't want to trek through the story for more hours than I needed to.

I preferred the way they handled days as well. Even though a remade Days would've been pretty cool I didn't want to sit through another play through of its drug out story just for roxas to wonder who he'll have ice cream with again.

I preferred the cutscenes greatly over the game, I just wish they could have had more time to work on it/chosen some different scenes.

It was good, however their presentation with it was a bit poor.
Deciding for some days to just be a picture with text over the top was a terrible idea. Also, they should have added in some fighting cutscenes. It feels a bit weird because they summon the keyblade ready to fight and the screen fades to black. After playing all the games, you're use to picking up the controller for a battle.
I'll repeat what I said, the cutscenes themselves was a good idea for the game to be delivered to an audience, but the presentation was poor.

I'm actually really glad Days will just be cutscenes. I really didn't like the original game's gameplay, and even if they change it, I don't love Days so much that I'd actually re-play it. I wouldn't go through all those annoying bosses(LEECHGRAVE;EMERALD SERENADE) and those repetitive missions that get tiring after awhile when I could just go to Theater Mode and watch all the cutscenes.

Trust me, those bosses would have been 110% easier on a console than on the DS.

I'm pretty much content with the way they did this as well.
Gameplay-wise Days is really somewhat tedious and the KH team made a convincing point as to why they wouldn't remake it as a whole game. Remaking Days would have costed another year for the HD collection to be released, something they didn't want to risk for one because of an already highly impatient and whining fanbase and for two because of several more games (the rest of the series) needing to be remastered (not remade) too if the promise of "bringing the whole story to one console" has to be kept.

I haven't yet seen the whole thing, so I cannot really judge the presentation completely, although the few screenshots I did see were on a really good quality. The main aim to get people up to speed on the story of Days seems to be accomplished by the stuff they did in this short amount of time though, so I will defer actual judgement until I actually see it.

My only gripe about this is that they did not do ANY fight scenes. Such a waste of an opportunity. I wanted to see Roxas fight Xion dang it! And having Xion's battle music playing over what is supposed to be a silent intense scene just kills it... When I heard they had around 3 hours of cutscenes, I thought for sure they would organize the scenes more like a movie. But alas, 'twas not.
