well we don't know for sure, it seems to suggest that they are clones. IN gakuen datenroku, kaworu hints they made clones of him too...iknow it's non canon, but its based of NGE

Didn't they actually show some of Kaworu's ummm... "spare bodies" in some tanks in Datenroku?

How did I miss the Rei clones, if there were that many!! Would I see them in NGE the anime or in Death and Rebirth the movie? Some how I miss that, but then again I haven't watched it in awhile so I might not have remember

If i recall correctly you don't actually see any clones in death and rebirth(if it's what I remember) because by then the clones had already been destroyed and their tanks of tang had become carbonated Fanta.

They Did in some scenes that hinted up to the discovery.

But either way, i can believe clones of kaowru too then dummy having kaworu's mind

Yeah lets hope so, but for some reason out of irony, I could see them releasing a rebuild movie on december 12, 2012, considering the superstition about that date supposedly being "the end of the world" and if evangelions third impact happened in the movie, well it'd be a perfect release date.

Speaking of, ironically, my father remembered my childhood love of evangelion and his response to me becoming a full adult by age, was getting me a perfect grade eva for my birthday, thing is I have no idea when I will find time to put this thing together.

Thats awesome not gonna lie lol. Gendos one of the few characters who my opinion has changed about over time, and continues to change, overall he's a jerk, but in some ways he's someone you can relate to since he's a heartbroke lonely romantic who's doing all this for his dead love, but in other aspects he's putrid waste, yet in another light he's a decent individual, but generally carries the "a-s-s...h.o.l.e. come on everybody I'm an a-hole"tune with him wherever he goes and in any depiction.

and I know what you mean Evangelion is epic.
