Kairi might be trained up between KH3D and KH3. If Sora meets up with his old pals again, Kairi will be in league of her own, her own strength after training with Yen Sid and Riku. As both a POH and possible Guardian, the three masters would want Kairi to be at the top of her game.
I'm not sure if theirs enough time to properly train her between KH3D and KH3. Then again they could send her of to some odd place as part of her training. I wonder if Yen Sid will be the one to actively train Kairi or if Riku will be tasked with her training. I agree that it's in every ones interest for her to be at the top of her game. Even if she'd end up not being a guardian.
I'm on board with her going on her own journey and assembling her own team though I'd prefer her team to consist mainly out of female characters... so maybe Tifa and Daisy Duck.

What do you guys hope to see from Kairi now that KH3 is in the works?
Well the thing I hope for the most is for her to get some screen time and character development. I'd love it if we'd get a Kairi scenario, especially if she'd team up with Lea. I'd also appreciate her getting a new outfit more in line with her KH1 get up.

She's most likely getting a new outfit. I can't imagine her going the whole game in just a mini-dress --could you imagine her movement limitations?
It's not just limiting, it's also really unpractical for combat and offers no protection.
