I personally like the "censored" version better. Gives off more of a Kingdom Hearts feel to me, in my opinion.

Yeah same here, I just can't really see guns in Kingdom Hearts for some reason.

Pro:

Xigbar connects a lot of things in all the games, secret scenes, etc.

Con:

Why run and hide, he doesn't have power to defeat them alone. And he wouldn't hide for the rest of his life ..doesn't seem like him, really.
