TOME 2.0
Tales of Magical Excellence
"Welcome to TOME" those were the words people treasured as they logged into the precursor to the now most popular VRMMOE on the planet. The original TOME was terminated almost one and a half years after it's inception due to an information leak of the existence of a sentient AI that was a bi-product of the game's production. The AI's name was Sofdti, it was also terminated alongside the game due to the efforts of an usurper administrator who wanted to use the AI as a springboard for his own ambitions. However before the deletion of Sofdti and the termination of TOME Softdi backed up the assets of the game with room for expansions that would make the game even greater than before...
It's been five years since the game closed down and Netking Software has released TOME 2.0: Tales of Magical Excellence as a stand alone successor to the Terrain of Magical expertise and is even greater than before. Using the expansion data that Sofdti left they doubled the regions of the world from 3 to 6, as well as added more quests and a more complete gaming experience.
With a more expansive customization system it allows you to develop a growth tree for your character using passive and active skills that affect your character's ability.
You can choose up to two classes with one customizable "inspiration" for your skills that sets yours apart from everyone else's form of magic. Choosing only one class can make you excellent in one area but leaves you open exploitation from other class skills.
You can also determine your role which will determine your weaknesses and strengths for your character.
Story:
This RP takes place in the year 2026, 5 years after the termination of TOME,
However the world has been engulfed with the knowledge that sentient AI is now possible and computer programmers have tried to grasp the concepts of what Netking software had done to create Sofdti, however most have miserably failed. Some have succeeded in creating simple AI for other purposes but most have simply not met expectations and were terminated. Meanwhile Netking software with the help of new programmers and most of their old staff intact save for the usurper who is now in jail for endangering the people and Sofdti who was a government kept secret.
Now this RP starts at the launch of TOME 2.0. Many old and new fans have been engrossed by the title's release and we join possibly both new and old heroes and it seems hackers just can't seem to stay away either. And one of them is looking for proof of a rumor that has been plaguing both his and his employer's mind about the game...
But aside from that TOME 2.0 is not just about what made the original story so interesting, TOME 2.0 also allows a level of interaction that is akin to real life and just meeting other people through the game is enjoyable.
So please enjoy everything TOME 2.0 has to offer.
Locales: there are 6 regions in TOME 2.0, each being diverse and unique in their own way. All have their own purpose but all have dungeons and quests of their own to enjoy.
Lavendera: the former PVP (player versus player) battleground of TOME is now home to most of the dungeons in the new iteration. Most of the open areas in the craggy landscape allow for pvp combat but is also home to shattered crag, the only area in TOME 2.0 to test the newest mechanic to the PVP system; 5v5 Party battles.
MechCity: Serving as the informational and social hub as well as the tutorial area for new players, news of updates passes through MechCity almost immediately. Very few battles happen here unless part of the gauntlet, training or PVP tournaments.
Paradiso: Originally named Sanctuary, Paradiso is the place for social interaction without interuption because no battles of any sort are allowed with in it's boundaries. So this area is perfect for those that just want to socialize and not be encumbered by the gameplay of TOME 2.0. This locale also resembles the poetic descriptions of the fields of elysium
Emeralis: one of the new additions in TOME 2.0, this area is one of the quest driven locales that you'll visit if you want to enjoy gameplay outside of PVP battles. PVP battles are allowed but there are limits set around the quantity of players because Emeralis isn't as expansive as Lavendera. Resembling a forest out of a fantasy novel, there is a mystical quality about it and the dungeons that are scattered within it's depths.
ShadowZone: The Second new area, it is seen from the edge of the Shattered Crag although only accessed from Emeralis, mostly the home of high level questers and their fellow party members. This is where the shadowguard beast resides, considered the toughest challenge in TOME 2.0 until the next expansion.
HOME: short for the Haven of Magical Excelence, only certain players are allowed to this zone who have been recognized by moderators or administrators may step foot here. This is where you actually get the challenge to fight some of the best players as well as the creators and administrators of TOME 2.0 themselves.
Now that you're acquainted with the setting and the story, shall we cut to the cream cheese?

Spoiler ShowElementalist, Wielders of the elements, masters of the natural forces of the planet. Elementalists are known for their control over all forms of matter around them. Most Elementalists are your typical Black mage types specializing in magical roles however it can has surprising diversity as part of a cross class. Good Roles: Magical Melee or Ranged attacker or tank. Bad Roles: Physical tank or attacker Weapons: Staves, Daggers, Or Wands
Enchanter, Hands down one of the most used classes in TOME 2.0 because of it's natural offensive flexibility. This class can range from a powerful physical or magical glass cannon, or it's most popular role as a buffing support, also the second most used class among cross class players because it helps covers more weaknesses than any other class. Good Roles: Physical and Magical (ranged or melee) attackers, Support. Bad Roles: Physical or Magical Tanks
Weapons: Swords(one handed), Pistols, Daggers, Staves, Hammers, Spears, Bows, Knuckles, Gloves.
Purist, the healers and guardians of TOME 2.0 and the favourite class of one of the administrators, these guys are essentially the staple of almost every party in TOME and as part of a cross class can be considered a tough class to deal with depending on their role. Good Roles: Physical or Magical melee or ranged tanks Bad Roles: Physical or Magical Attackers
Weapons: Hammers, Heavy swords(two handed), Staves, Bows.
MechMage, with the enchanters being the offensive buffers the MechMage is the defensive buffer and this being one of the rarer classes in the game you better hold on to one of these characters in your party if you want to survive. They can deflect and negate damage pretty easily on their own. Good Roles: Magical and Physical melee or ranged Tanks or support Bad Roles: Magical and Physical attackers Weapons: Swords, Pistols, Heavy Guns ( Shotguns and Cannons), Knuckles.
Martial Artist, not as magical as most of the classes this class derives itself off the mystical quality of the art of physicality. This class uses physical close range power and a strong body to take physical hits although clearly weak to magic itself.
Good Roles: Physical melee tank or attackers Bad Roles: Magical tank or attackers
Weapons: Gloves, Knuckles, Greaves, Polearms.
Conjurer, Those that specialize in creating inanimate objects that are under the control of the caster, this makes a good choice of class because it can serve almost any purpose from crafting all sorts of objects within the game's world however the draw back is that it takes time to create them so unless they have a active mind and imagination they can't conjure things quickly to serve at close range.
Weapons: Poles, Pistols, Bows
Good Roles: All ranged roles Bad Roles: Any melee roles
Summoner, Those that can summon weaker AI based creatures that are loyal to the caster, These can range from beasts to mythical creatures although they have to be reasonable. they are also surprisingly hardy at the front lines, making some of the most powerful tanks in the game depending on their dual class. Weapons: Daggers, Swords, Staves, Hammers
Good roles: Any Melee Roles Bad roles: Any ranged roles
Alchemist, the most offensively powerful classes but also one of the most weakest the alchemist deals in physical debuffs and a perfect counter to martial artists because of it's weaponset and it's ability to debilitate physical skills. Cannot be Cross Classed.
Good Role: Physical Ranged Attacker Bad Roles: Everything else
Weapons: Bows, Pistols, Heavy Guns.
Dispeller, The Magical Equivalent to Alchemist, this Class deals in heavy magical debilitation to disable most mages in the party. Both Alchemist and Dispeller deal in absolute victory when paired together and although the victory may seem obvious to some, the toughest PVP challenges in the game deal in matches against well synchronized pairs of these classes. Cannot be cross classed
Good Role: Magical Melee Attacker Bad Roles: Everything else
Weapons: Staves, Wands, Daggers, Swords
Spoiler ShowThe roles in this game determine what weaknesses and strengths you have in the game. These roles are pretty obvious if you've played other strategy or Role playing games before. The main Roles I used in the Class descriptions are suggestions because you can choose any role you want.
Tanks, specializing in taking hits and dishing them back physically or magically although balanced tanks are more flexible and take more hits from both sides but depending on your class or classes it makes more sense to use roles that benefit that class.
Attackers, dealing powerful attacks that can cripple each other and possibly even other tanks, this role is meant to hit hard and hit fast. But remember it's all up to you. You can choose how to experience TOME 2.0
Support, This role is the common ground between all roles, although not having a defining 1 or two area's they are average in all areas, therefore there are no overall weaknesses.. but they are the ones needed their stats are lower overall as well. usually supports are either Enchanters or MechMages to increase damage output or defensive strength.
Depending on your weapon and class choice there are also sub roles
Ranged: Bows, Pistols, Elementalist, Conjurer, Dispeller. These represent the long ranged combateers who use ranged attacks and spells, relying on a keen eye and Area-of-effect spells and attacks.
Melee: Swords, Wands, Hammers, Greaves, Gloves, Knuckles, Daggers, Staves, Martial Artist, Enchanter, MechMage, Purist. These classes and weapons are more suited to singular combat.
Balanced: Heavy swords, Spears, Poles, Heavy Guns. These weapons are made to balance range and power, it doesn't require as keen an eye as ranged weapons and they specialize in wide AOE attacks.
