They look like those lines between worlds when you travel from world to world in KHII and BBS. Maybe this could be how you travel to worlds/unlock new worlds in this game?

Probably not. They only used Twilight Thorn as a familiar enemy to show in the KH3D demo. Something that fans would recognize on the spot. Putting it in the game at this point would be redundant.
Question: How did Maleficent and Pete get into Disney Castle if the Cornerstone of Light was made to prevent such a thing?
Also, when Neku says "This isn't what we promised!" as he attacks the guy in the black robe, is he talking about the games, to Sora or to himself? And what does he mean?

Pete is able to get in there easily, as shown by Coded.
Maleficent is a tough one here. She might have just found a way around it.
maybe she found a way to weaken the Cornerstone enough for her to invade the castle. or perhaps she's now strong enough to resist the Cornerstone's effects

I believe the hooded person created the mission for the day to be bringing Sora to the Third District, and then the hooded figure goes against the game.
Hmm, seems plausible. The only problem I have with that is if Neku was ordered to bring Sora, why was he defending him against the hooded figure when he seemed to only want Sora?
Especially if Neku needed to win the games to live.

I think Pete can enter Disney Castle because it's his original homeworld therefore the cornerstone may not apply to him since he's originally from that world. In Coded Maleficent had to enter the data world but she couldn't enter Disney Castle, but as to how she is able to enter Disney Castle in KH3D now that is a mystery.

Have you played TWEWY? The aim of the games set is to complete the challenges without getting erased by the Reapers.I think the hooded figure might be erasing Neku, even though he brought Sora to him.
