Re: Samurai Jack - TRAILER: Season 5, March 11th @ 11:30pm on Toonami

So, anyone have any theories on the horserider from Jack's visions?

Same as Sdog, for sure getting an Aku vibe. Those eyes, and just the overall feel of the shadow.

But, I'd love to see the figure turn out to be Jack himself. That'd be an interesting twist.

Like maybe his guilt has manifested into that? I can dig it.

Maybe the guy on the horse isn't Aku, maybe it's Jack. A manifestation of everything he feels he's done wrong that's taken form into what he hates most, himself.

EDIT: I'm starting to think this will be a bittersweet ending. Maybe he goes to when he was a child and smites Aku then, erasing his own existence from the timeline to allow his younger self to live the childhood he never had (or maybe he doesn't get erased but leaves his family to their own devices and travels the world to make it safe for the rest of eternity (since he can't age)). OR his father dies when he defeats Aku.
ALSO we might finally learn his real name at the end.

PS I just want to clarify something; when we saw the daughters of Aku training montage, was that over the course of years? Or was there some magic BS going on that made them grow super fast?

the right path is the right path; they both went left

This episode was so lit.

White wolf symbolism for those trying to make the connection :)

The opening with Aku was hilarious. Poor guy is having a mid life crisis

The wolf is definitely foreshadowing the endgame.

Something I didn't quite get was how was Jack able to cause a stone hallway to explode just by banging a dagger against it.

That was Scaramouche's tuning fork dagger that Jack gained from last episode. It makes things explode good.

Two episodes in and we've already got an amazing track. Anyone else catch that The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly homage?

ahhhh I missed it. Love that movie. Please tell.

The daughters were looking for Jack in a circular tomb as he was hiding in a grave, much like how Tuco was looking for the gold hiding in a grave. Could've been a neat coincidence, but the cover of Ecstasy of Gold really sealed the deal.

Damn. That's crazy you picked that up amidst the action and suspense. Now that I think about it, I recall the Ecstasy of Gold playing in the background.

Nah, I caught it on the third watch, and that's mostly because I vaguely remembered Ecstasy of Gold's intro (second time I watched, I was expecting a face hugger to jump out lol). Really well done homage, though; I'd love if this becomes a recurring thing this season *crossing fingers for some Kurosawa*

"Death is failure". Damn that was ice cold.

Looks like Ashi is the sole survivor. I loved Jack's deadpan expression when she was ranting and he just let her drop XD

I was not expecting Jack to off 3 daughter's of Aku within the third episode. I also thoroughly enjoyed Jack's relationship with the Wolf.

I was laughing so hard watching that part. XD

Welp, Jack fell down with her. Can't wait to see how they interact next episode (if they even do.)
