Marluxia is one of my favortie characters. He is amazing. At first I honestly thought he was a woman, but if you look at his face, he actually has typical male features to his face.

Then theres the hair...

BUT STILL HE IS AWESOME!

Sakura petals are the Japanese flower of death if I recall correctly.
So no, Marluxia is not gay despite pink flowery belief.
Also, Marluxia was originally intended to be a female in the Organization.

Fun fact: Marluxia was meant to be a woman.

Meanwhile, we have Xemnas with thirteen people (including Marluxia) under his wing, plus Namine.
Yes I'm aware he was, I find it funny :3

Other fun fact: My friends reaction when she first saw him was "EW! SHE'S UGLY!" Then I told her it was a guy. Her reaction "O.O" Nuff said xD

But in all honesty I get the reference to the sakura and everything

I understand if you get confused with Marluxia when he was a sprite. But honestly, no woman unless taking a huge amount of steroids will reach the body Marluxia has once Re: CoM came along. Buff as hell, and deep voice. People associate pink with females too much, when in the past, it was more of a male's color. Yes, a male's color. And in some countries it still is, or it fits both sex. Japan happens to be one of them. I already broke the stereotype when I learned this.

For the topic, I would rightly say that:
Flowers = Element
Death = Theme

In other words, there's no doubt that his element is Flower. It's practically in official writing. But in the same way that Demyx has music as his theme, and Luxord with his casino, Marluxia's happens to be tied to death, and it's greatly symbolized in the sakura petals when it comes to the Japanese. It's even more obvious once you take his scythe, the Death Counter he uses, and the black cloak. He's basically an image of the Grim Reaper.

Except he's more pretty looking and not a skeleton :3.

In the intro, it says "His pretty face hides ugly motives."

I think I'm the only one who practically laughed at that when it came on my screen.

Well pretty much most of us agree it is just flowers since it has been officially said it is flowers, so....yeah

Even though it says flowers, I think Marluxia is more of a nature element. Flowers are the life, and the darkness and sycthe is death. Nature has both life and death.

I would've preferred it to be Nature as well, rather than just "Flowers". Ties in his theme perfectly, and can branch to many other things. Plants, energy, flowers, Life, Death...

why do people keep saying he uses Sakura??? they tend to show him using ROSES!!! NOT SAKURA!!! in the final ix fight with him, there is a ROSE symbol on the floor where you fight him in the white area! even when he summons his scythe it is a rose petal that falls on his hand! I think people need to quit confusing roses with sakura petals >_>

Actually, I heard that in the japanese, his elemental power literally was Nature, but when it came over to the states, it became Flowers (obviously, he still had the flowers, but that's just what they called it). Don't know how true that is, but that's what I was told.
