I hope that not all keyblade transformations are limited to Starlight, though that would be silly.

Maybe the transformations aren't attached to keyblades themselves, but every keyblade can transform into any of the transformations unlocked?

I hope if it's the case, we can have different kinds of keychains that transforms into anything else different and unique to each of their own.

Don't worry, It was already confirmed that all keyblades would have unique transformations

Riku's way to dawn keyblade is hardly counted, It's still different from soul eater which is a ordinary sword, these are not the same thing, just using it's design as basis for his signature keyblade.

I was referring to Terra and Aqua, and I meant to say Re:Coded, even though in Days when you upgraded, a + was added to the end(Ominous Blight----Ominous Blight+-----Ominous Blight++).

Sign also noted that something similar takes place in Xchi, so I do think it will return in 3 and better than ever before. I also think there will be a visual difference like with BBS and Xchi.

Way to Dawn and Souleater are indeed different, and wasn't what I was trying to imply lol. Speaking of similarities though, I wonder if Kingdom Key D (Mickey's keyblade) will have a brother/sister transformation effect with the Kingdom Key Light Sora wields. I think it'd be cool if Nomura implemented this, as keybade transformation seems to be a basic skill to all those who earn the title, Master. And of course, Mickey is one of the few left with this title; so if he appears in battle, I imagine he'd be able to as well.

I think it'd be cool if Nomura implemented this, as keybade transformation seems to be a basic skill to all those who earn the title, Master. And of course, Mickey is one of the few left with this title; so if he appears in battle, I imagine he'd be able to as well.

Well, I never said he was lol. I said Mickey was one of the few remaining, not Sora. Terra isn't a master either, and he's transformed his keyblade the most out of any wielder by a great deal (Including Lingering Will). In my opinion, Sora and Terra are obviously master level. I'd say they would more than qualify too as far as actual skills go. I think the reason they're not is more of a mental thing as opposed to a skill based one (the whole darkness thing with Terra, Immaturity with Sora and Ven).


But since Sora can, I think it makes sense for a confirmed master to be able too as well, as it seems to be a trait of experienced wielders in general. Whatever the Kingdom Key turns into, I thought it would be interesting to see a variant of that transformation with the Kingdom Key D, as they are the same keyblade, just from different realms. That's all I was trying to say. As I'm sure if he's not playable (in story mode anyway), he'll at least fight alongside you a time or two, and since the AI are supposed to be a lot smarter in this game as Nomura said, I'd like to see Mickey's keyblade transform in battle too.

Excellent illustrations. I'm glad that they're doing Keyblade designs that aren't way over the top, like a stack of ice cream, or a whale shooting a boat out of it's blowhole through a stream of water.

I wonder how Sora receives this Keyblade. We've known the gun form since the demo trailer in 2013 so I'm presuming we get it fairly early, but where? CT maybe?
...And the longer I look at it's gun form the more I think of a horse. It does seem to share the Unicornis Foreteller's color scheme.

Hey there is something that i always wondered is Ven's Wingblade a Form of Keyblade Transformation, i mean Ven's Keyblade Disappears when he enters it and um they never said that a Keyblade Transformation has to be in "Physical" Form since afterall Keyblade is clearly made from an Energy...

I say nay.

The ethereal beam is most likely coming from the person(like magic), not the keyblade, and Ven probably just puts his keyblade away (as they have the power to do that) in order to wield his ethereal beams of awesome.

I'm amazed by this! I was at the NA launch event and this is amazingly accurate. Wish I could have such a memory!

We're more than thankful for all you've given us lol When you say massive, just how massive are we talking? If you can compare it to another heartless like say, a Large Body, I'd be interested in hearing how big the enemies that you guys saw were.

From what I remember there were a number of new Heartless sketches and models.

- A demon wearing Greek armor similar to Hercules. It had a face similar to a Behemoth. I think it could be as tall as an Invisible Heartless?
- A soldier Heartless that looks smaller than the Greek armor Heartless
- An archer Heartless with a big floppy hat
- A fireball Heartless
- This Heartless looked like it had the same structure/model as a Gargoyle and Air Glider Heartless except it was Green and Yellow.

Cable Town shares a lot of similarities to Land of Departure and Daybreak Town. It makes sense why many people who went to the event made this connection. However, the color scheme seems to be switched around a bit. There were wires connecting floating buildings and there were buildings on top of a hill.

That new Keyblade has a really interesting design, the similarities to Oathkeeper and Aqua being the most obvious.
Although I might be mistaken, from the image itself it looks also like it could be one of the shorter Keyblades as well as having some more subtle similarities to Wayward Wind in both the form (the longer, bigger part of the handguard and the teeth are on the same side of the blade) and the additional curved "wing" which holds the teeth and goes over the entire length of the blade, which bears some resemblance to the curved feathers on the keychain token of WW.
The primary white colors and the "cloth"-like extension of the handguard could also be connected to Castle Oblivion (where nearly everything is white) and the white curtains in Naminé's room in the old mansion.

It can go both ways actually.
It can come from a magic aura that harnesses Ven's own innate powers, but it can also come from a transformation of the Keyblade as during Wingblade Ventus never uses his Keyblade, not even for regular attacks.
Unlike i.e. Blade Charge, where the Keyblade is just covered in an energy aura that enlarges the blade itself, in Wingblade the Keyblade itself completely disappears without actually having the usual dismissing animation when someone puts his/her Keyblade away.
Just like Sora's keyblade can transform into two guns, Terra's into a cannon (which is actually a shotlock) etc, it is not entirely wrong to believe that Ven's can transform into six light swords (they're not ethereal blades like Xemnas or Young Xehanort use) that hover behind him like wings.

There was a member named tophatting who tried drawing two of the New Heartless and Cable Town in the earlier threads. The overall shapes sort of resemble this. The Greek Armor Heartless definitely had horns on its head that looked like the way a behemoth's head is shaped.

Lots of rail grinding to maneuver around the city as opposed to the skateboard? Rail grinding seems to be the rage with the kids these days with their Dream drops and Sunset Overdrives.

hehe, looks like it, but maybe you'll just run along the chains. What I never understood in KH DDD is how you could rail grind with just your shoes xD
Hopefully that's one part of Flowmotion they'll remove.
