The mere fact that Riku handed it to here should more than suffice as proof that it is not hers, as she didn't summon it.

However there is no particular explanation for the Soul Eater’s transfer and occurrence, as well as Riku’s handing it to Kairi.

It being the Soul Eater, which last time I checked, was Riku's weapon. :v

Riku did the same thing with Roxas's keyblade when they found.
Riku giving Kairi the WtD (albeit with another Keychain) while still wielding the WtD = Riku Duel Wielding.

oh i thought that kairi's was just a completely new keyblade that riku formed from his memories of home, not a new keychain attached to WTD

and ive always wondered if kairi kept it or if she gave it back

The only way Kairi would ever be able to keep it would be if it chose her as its master or if Riku continually willed for her to hold onto it. But the latter would drain Riku's energy very quickly, which is why it disappears after the Heartless threat is over, because Riku needed to be at full strength to fight against Xemnas. Make sense?
