Re: James Bond Franchise - 007 (Skyfall - 2012)

Yeah so I saw it but it's definitely not the best Bond movie. Casino Royale was a lot better from what I remember. Also not liking how M16 can do that much property damage and not have to pay.

I love Casino Royale, and maybe it's better in regards to being a traditional "Bond film", but I find Skyfall to be the best Bond film, and there is a difference between the two phrases.

Re: James Bond Franchise - 007 (Spectre - 2015)

So yeah, guys, we've got the title and cast for the new Bond film: Spectre. Looks like Christoph Waltz is probably playing Blofeld, in disguise as usual. One of the girls from Blue is the Warmest Color is going to be the Bond girl of the film.

I was already excited for Sam Mendes and Lea Seydoux, but Christoph Waltz? That's just perfect. It's also nice to see the series going back to its roots with SPECTRE, now that MGM has the rights to it.

Hottest film of 2015? I think so.

It's going to be really nostalgic not Judy Dent anymore as of growing up watching Pierce Bronson films until this date. SkyFall was amazing and can't wait for Spectre.

Casino Royale remains my favourite out of the three most recent films. Skyfall is almost as good, but I thought the last part was really boring and dragged on for way too long. Quantum of Solace is easily the worst entry in the official canon. Previous duds still managed to me entertaining, even if not always for the right reasons, and they were memorable in one way or another. Quantum of Solace was just downright boring from beginning to end.

Except for a few brief glimpses, I haven't really seen much of the Bond franchise prior to the Craig films. So my knowledge of past incarnations of villains and such is rather limited. Casino Royale was great, Quantum of Solace was awful, and Skyfall was awesome. I'm really looking forward to Spectre, as long as they don't do a repeat of QoS.

QoS was definitely among the weaker entries in the franchise, but it's nowhere near as bad as Diamonds Are Forever (save for that really creepy funeral home sequence), Moonraker, Octopussy, A View to a Kill or Die Another Day.

Casino Royale is a masterpiece, as is Skyfall. I personally prefer the latter. I could see why some folks might not like the finale very much, as it is rather downscaled from your average Bond climax, but that was part of the charm for me. It was a more intimate affair, having Bond go back to his home to conclude this strange emotional journey between his spiritual brother and mother.

Except for a few brief glimpses, I haven't really seen much of the Bond franchise prior to the Craig films. So my knowledge of past incarnations of villains and such is rather limited. Here's my list of recommended Bond films to see. The bolded are the ones that I especially recommend.

- Dr. No
- From Russia With Love
- Goldfinger (I find it overrated myself, but pretty much everyone else loves this film)
- Thunderball
- On Her Majesty's Secret Service
- Live and Let Die (most of Moore's era sucks, but this film is pretty great)
- The Living Daylights
- License to Kill (this one is a bit different from the average Bond film, but it's terrific. think of it as a proto-Craig film)
- Goldeneye
- Tomorrow Never Dies (not nearly as good as Goldeneye, but it's still pretty good)

"It was me, James. The author of all your pain."

I fucking love Christoph Waltz, especially as a Bond villain; he's going to be one of the most memorable ones, I'm certain of it.

Bringing Spectre back could either be really awesome or really bad. I'm a huge fan of the Connery to Moore films, so I don't want to see Spectre changed too much. It's a bit too silly for a modern audience, but I liked it that way. :'(

I think, as with much of the Craig era Bond films, they'll probably draw more influence from the classic Fleming novels in how they present Spectre. They were a fantastical organization, yeah, but it was never as outlandish as the volcano lair in You Only Live Twice. I'm getting the impression that they're angling Spectre more as being a cross between the From Russia With Love/On Her Majesty's Secret Service portrayals of Spectre and the mysterious organization behind-the-scenes in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

If that is the direction they're going with, I think it's a brilliant move.

I saw Spectre last Friday, and after having had some time to process it here are my thoughts on the movie.

All in all, I would for the time being place Spectre as Craig's third best Bond film, after Casino Royale and skyfall, still better than any of Brosnan's films.

Tomorrow going to see Spectre and I am rather excited. I have never been such a huge fan of Bond films, but I watched Quantum of Solace a few weeks ago and liked it. Last weekend Skyfall also aired on television, and I watched it, and really liked it. I think it might be my favorite Bond film. I really enjoy Daniel Craig as Bond. There is something rough in him, and he feels like and agent that is doing the cold blooded job that needs to be done. Without forgetting the dry humor thou!

Oh and I don`t go to movies that often. I think its been almost a year when I last time watched something in a proper movie theater, so there is also that.

i'm probably missing shit on both sides and it seems like i'm being negative towards the movie but in all honesty, i enjoyed Spectre and felt it to be a fitting sendoff for daniel craig's bond.

While I did enjoy the movie, it was a drag until the end. Not as suspenseful like Skyfall. The movie at the same time went by too fast. Should've carried more emphasis to the antagonist. Meanwhile its obvious it won't be the last of Ernst Stavro but deserved a proper send off to understand that these two characters will be rivaled throughout their history. Batista should've also had a proper finish.

Daniel Craig has one more Bond movie left in him, right?

hell no. he was ecstatic to quit doing bond films, stating he would rather slash his wrists than do another. sony had to tell him to ease up on his opinions for a while, haha.

I remember reading that but I could've sworn he was contracted until Bond 26 and that would be it for him.
